@Andrea Kershaw and anyone else who cares, the gorgeous woman at the end (c. 2:05 of the clip) is Barbara Randolph. She was a Motown recording artist who sang 'I Got a Feeling,' whose highest chart position was only #116 on November 4, 1967, exactly five weeks before the release of the film. The song can be found on RUclips.
Four to five years after this film, Isabel Sanford was cast on the tv sitcom All in the Family as one of the Bunkers' next door neighbors, George and Louise Jefferson and their son Lionel, friend of Mike Stivic married to Gloria Bunker. A few years later The Jeffersons sitcom spun off, and George started to call his wife "'Weezie."

This was a nice movie for that time considering how things were back then My Dad took us to Miami Florida and everything was segregated back then The luncheonettes had dividing lines and blacks weren't allowed in some hotels This truly was refreshing
Right after Katherine Hepburn passed away, they said on CNN that the actress who plays Joanna in this movie was actually her niece in real life. They also had her on for a brief interview and she hardly looked any different, even though it was around forty years later!
I met my 1st husband on December 10th and we married on December 30th. We were extremely happy for 4years, until a drunk driver took his life. Some time you just know.
I don't really know what the point of the role of Dorothy in the film. She only had this scene and when she leaves with the delivery boy...although she can dance!!
why Katharine Houghton never did another movie?...or she did?-she is very pleasent to watch!!. And the girl at the end?-who was the actress?-another beauty!!. carlos

Best film for it's time, amazing actors and acting, Sidney Poitier and Katherine Ross were ace in this, plus she was incredible in "The Graduate" and "Butch Cassidy" etc,did Henry Mancini do the music to this movie?
Born on his parents' visit to Miami, Florida, but raised his first 15 years in the Bahamas (hence his clipped British accent) before returning to USA, he had dual American:British citizenship. Nineteen ninety seven to 2007 he was US ambassador to the Bahamas. Later the UK queen knighted him.
That scene where Poitier looks at the maid's helper almost ruined this movie. It makes us think that a black man cannot be faithful, always looking for a new piece of ass. Bad scene. I would have cut that scene out of the scrip.
austin teutsch I can see your point, but I disagree. I think that scene was just trying to point out that he's a healthy, normal man with a sexual desire for women just like any other. The whole movie made it perfectly clear that he was a perfect gentleman with exceptional character. Just because he had a casual attraction to another woman doesn't mean he was low class. I think they may have included it also to show that he's able to feel attracted to women of his own race, and that he isn't involved with a white woman to try and raise his esteem in society.
+stitchesful Well, your point is heard, but not taken. Why? Because God tells us in His word that when you lust, you've committed a sin. We've all lusted. I have. You have. But I still would have cut this scene because to keep Poitier's character in tact, he has to be faithful all the way.
Hmmmm....from what I can gather from this movie, the 'black male' stereotype has definitely been broken, but the 'ditzy blonde' stereotype prevails. Sigh.......
Tal vez el director nos quiere mostrar que los hombres negros se siente más atraído por sus mujeres negras. Obviamente que se rompe el romanticismo entre los personajes principales, al ver como Sidney se derrite cuando aparece esa mujer en la escena.
She looks so in love with him.
Che storia fantastica l.
He was Sidney P not Jimmy JJ Walker 💀💀💀💀💀💀💀🔥

Barbara Rudolph was also strongly considered to be Diana Ross's replacement in the Supremes.
The Hell with that! Looking at the girl at the end of this clip...The movie shouldv'e been called "Look who got dumped for the maid!" LOL
Exactly!!
The maid was Isabel Sanford aka "Weezy" from the Jeffersons.

Ikr Sidney was about to order dark meat and almost forgotten he already ordered white. God I love being a man 💪🏾😋😂.

The look the maid gives at the end is pretty revealing IMO, basically disgust at Sidney for his choice
