@GeneralShiba_ Remember the LOS tool, it will save you so much later on. Also if you ever want to push, remember smoke is your friend so bring a couple motors to lay a layer of smoke for your advance.
This is great! Shiba I discovered your channel because I picked up gates of hell during the steam summer sale and was also thinking about grabbing Warno too. I’m not an rts player but I’ve become bored with most fps’ out these days and you’re gates of hell vids have been a big help but I’m still pitifully bad lol. I’m honestly surprised you don’t have more subs because you do great commentary.
Thanks man I'm glad you enjoyed them and they helped you out! Jump in the discord theres plenty of us that are willing to play with/against you and help you get better 👌 Also I think I've got a while before I'm half as good at warno but I'll keep learning 😂
I played my first matches the other day and I won 2 and lost like 4. I can’t seem to stop the aircraft from bombing me to bits. I lose air Superiority and I get stomped. I use a bunch of AA and Air defense planes but I can’t seem to stop them. I love the game though!!
Only piece of general advice i can genuinely give is that that infantry in the town is getting a beating and it would have behooved you to have a supply vehicle in the town, check with LOS tool that the enemy cannot see it, park it behind one of the buildings. You would take less damage that way. edit: K you do do that later on. But generally just focus of having supply where it needs to be.
I think you did well overall Shiba. [I'm no pro but I'd consider myself to be at least in the upper statem of average] First lil' tippy: AA in the middle of urban areas doesn't work very well, the buildings massively block the view of the air, think of the units as on the bottommost floor, not the roof. (with exception when it comes to Skyscrapers or Church towers which do provide sight from a higher altitude.) Furthermore, AA should be viewed as a network as one or more units often won't be enough, Personally, I like to grab 2~ Heavy Sams [KUB, BUK, IHAWK] and 3~ MANPADS. The idea is generally to saturate the aircraft, getting a single hit should prevent the ordinance from dropping so getting a missile hit on the first salvo is important. Bare in mind the ranges your weapons have as a few of your systems were too far back to be of much help. Consider ATGMs more, in large open maps ATGMs can be very, very good so long as you can keep them in stealth/unseen and away from aircraft or artillery. which is easier than it may sound. My last little tippy is the Z key/Return fire mode as a whole, this is in my opinion one of the most important keys the game has to offer. you can use it to make sure recon doesn't blow it's location by shooting unnecesarily, you can use it to prevent artillery from firing until they're all synced up and ready to fire at once or to micro ATGM teams so they dont fire at vehicles moving between small openings they'll have crossed by the time the missile ever arrives, to name a few things. Most everything else will come with experience and as you gain familiarity with the game mechanics as a whole, I know I had a lot of trouble understanding what my recon could actually see and how far they could see it when I first started playing Eugen Games. As I said: Overall I think you actually did quite well despite the KD. you managed to contest your point the whole way through and didn't completely collapse which is good, kills and losses really arent anything more than a point of pride in conquest, if you take 10k in losses and 5k in kills but pushed the opponent back to their spawn you still won and as far as I'm concerned that wouldn't be letting the team down, in fact if you're playing as the reds I'd say you get bonus points for the LARP.
I appreciate the very in depth comment mate 👌 I'll make a note to implement as much as you mentioned as I can, might even go live playing warno later and play against the AI while I learn a bit more. You can judge how much I improved next PvP match 😂 Also I like to release my inner stalin 😂 I'm the same with GoH, so much death 😅
No worries mate, WARNO/Wargame are hard games for everyone when they first start playing, for a first PVP game I'm quite impressed. Lookin' forwards to seeing more. thanks for the videos.
Honestly I personally like putting my move command on normal move by standard, gives me a greater degree of control. Then I just use the 'F' key for fast move and 'Q' for attack move
Watch some tmanplays and hippie content. Upvetting your tanks to at least trained is crucial, cohesion loss at anything over yellow is basically combat ineffective. Strella is short range non radar AA, keep them closer to the front and double kub means that you can kill planes not just damage them LGB planes are for high value targets I haven't actually played really any warno, I just watch it
Also having units being able to see more than they can shoot is pointless (except recon) for the most part especially considering the closet you are the more likely you are to hit. Kinetic AT shots/tank main guns (non heat) get greatly increased penetration the closer they are. T-55s can kill the best tanks at close range
Thanks for the tips mate 👌 I had no idea what I was doing, I definitely have room for improvement. 😂 Figured I'd do what I did with gates of hell and show my journey from beginner to potentially an okay player 👍 And yeah it is pretty interesting to watch, I've seen a few of the comp matches on YT lately
When you know or think you know where the commander is then just using artillery will do the job, especially mortars for infantry pushes and logistics is key to maintain your forces. Though, you done pretty good but you need long range infantry that use tows and special forces units as well. If you were going to choose an infantry build but use long range vehicles and air units to counter Armour pushes. Like how you did when you caught the infantry in the open.
You definitely needed more ATGMs (missile launchers), tanks, and vehicles with ATGMs. Unlike the previous game, Steel Division 2, there is a ton of focus on vehicles. Infantry heavy tactics are not as good in this game unfortunately. And yeah, you need to rush rush rush at the start with commander units and then sink your teeth in. Veterancy/experience on your units is super important, even more than in SD2. I don’t like the Eastern Bloc, but any deck with T-80s, T-64BVs, or any tank with reactive armor is good. Soviet ATGM vehicles are pretty good as well.
My restriction at the start cost me heaps I think and yeah I found that my infantry held but it just got bombed to death I probably would run out of units 😂 Thanks for the tips!
The games arent similar at all in my opinion but if you enjoyed wargame red dragon or steel division 2 you may enjoy warno. I find Warno way more micro intense then GoH tbh which many people may not like
learn to balance your forces. buy less infantry instead get more tanks and IFVs; use them to support the infantry. layer your AA keep the Igla and strellas close to the front, and keep your Kubs further back in pairs along with supply (kubs I-hawks run out of ammo quickly, so always buy with supply). I can see you already learning from your mistakes, good job.
Any and all tips and tricks you lads can give me are welcome 👌

@@GeneralShiba_ me and you would be a good team the old Shiba bean haha
@@SirJellyBean guess that means we will have to get a 2v2 happening soon then ✌
@@GeneralShiba_ hell yes
@@SirJellyBean will get it happening in the next few weeks 👌
Love to see someone new to the warno scene! Hope you enjoy your games and the learning process
Cheers mate, definitely am 👌
I love the infantry heavy divisions like France. It’s a beautiful game as well ! Zero lag or connection issues
Yeah 100%! Finding a match instantly is nice 😂

Yeah the learning curve pretty big, I struggle with attacking as you can see 😂 will have to get some matches in the weekend with everyone 👌

After your first impression, you think pact and nato are balanced?
I do but I dont really know. I feel like everything has a counter on both sides 👍

Perhaps, at the moment I'm into squad 44 👌
