The silk route of Sikkim is a part of old trade route that came from Lahasa and ends at present day Tamluk at West Bengal.
Famous for its scenic beauty this silk route in Sikkim is now the highest searched tourist destination of India. Here is a short 3 nights and 4 days tour package of Old Silk Route.

Hello, I travelled from Kolkata to silk route and back in my own car (XUV 500 W11 (O)) in Oct 3rd week. Weather was good, roads not that good. However it is an enjoyable drive from zuluk to tsomogo lake via gnathang valley, tukla valley, kupup, old baba mandir, new baba mandir, hanging lake, tsomogo lake etc. Getting permits is easy at Ringling where officials are very cooperative and helpful.

Is mid Oct a safe time to visit Silk Route? What are the road conditions... we all know that avalanches increases during the rainy season, although oct is more like in autumn, will the roads be good? Also can i get snowfall view/snow?
You can visit safely but you will not get snow. Snow is available from end of March till the first week of may
Reaching njp at night of Day 0. Day 1: Want to go from njp to zuluk, stay overnight at zuluk.. Day 2: From zuluk to Gangtok via Nathang, Changu, Baba Mandir, Nathu La. Stay at gangtok overnight. Day 3: From Gangtok to NJP. Is it possible?? What can be possible car charges for big car (6 people)??
Yes, it is possible. Car rate will be Rs 5000 per day approximately
Must visit their,go to tsomogo lake nathula,baba mandir,kupup lake,zuluk toad folds and gnathang valley view,and stay at aritar lake than next day return

You can follow the details of the tour plan mentioned in this video. The car rate mentioned here may increase by 1000 or 1500 rupees as because the time when you are traveling is peak season. Rest of the tour cost will be more or less same as mentioned here. If you need anything more then please let me know, I will try to help you.

In all the cases you will get a shared cab. Per person charge will be within 700-1000. It may vary according to season. There will be no buses to nathang at night
