  • Hi everyone, in this video I am going to be carrying out the relatively straightforward procedure of replacing the brake pads in the rear caliper of my VFR800 VTEC.
I used EBC Double H sintered pads for the replacement and these can be found at the best price I could find at the link below.

Appreciate your VFR tutorials, I have successfully completed the oil and filter, air filter, clutch and brake fluid changes together with all new pads and coolant replacement thanks to your concise instructive videos. Its been years since I have attempted my own maintenance, but with retirement and more time on my hands thought Id give it a go. Only problem I encountered was a broken caliper mounting bolt, but thankfully I managed to remove it with no drama and replace with all new. Thanks again Kev, its given me confidence to attempt the more complicated tutorials lol. Next up is the sprockets and chain. Cheers...

No worries dude, always more to come, I have big plans for future videos. I have a valve clearance bud plus a rear axle rebuild in the pipeline. Don’t forget that there are other videos with the triumph, SV Thou, ZX9R and more 👍🏻

Great series of VFR maintenance videos Kev. Just checked Fowlers website for replacement pad pins... £15 each for the front and a tenner for the rear !! I'll just be cleaning mine lol

I love to find out how to do bearings replacement in a rear wheel. I found a little freeplay at my VFR, therefore I'm looking for it :) . Thank you in advance.

Thanks Kev another great video. Yes that top bolt is a pain caught my knuckles a bit lol. Look forward to next video on what it might be. 🙂

keV very informative not sure I would have found the bolt holding caliper on rear tricky one. I spent a few hours taking it apart to find everything inside was good and pads didn't need replacing. Peace of mind. Good video.

Excellent, I'm not a fan of copper slip on the backs of pads etc either, only place I'd smear a little bit of copper slip is on the threads of the pad pins. funny no matter how often I do certain jobs I like to view it being done just as a refresher before I do it again, fitting new rear pads to my 5th gen tomorrow.

Hi kev I love the way you make the videos so simple and no waffling, I had a stroke last year and it has affected my left arm I'm OK but I've been left with a weakness in my hand and I'm struggling with the clutch leaver after about 90 miles I seem to lose the strength in my hand is there any way I can make the clutch softer or easier to operate cheers kev ,colin Taylor

It is very different to most bikes, also unique in my experience that it has identical pads to the front calipers.

I was wondering if you could do a brake bleed video. I want to upgrade my break lines to the steel braide, not having linked brake system before in my life on a bike. thanks bud

Hi Kev, love the chanel. I'm about to overhaul all my system including discs. Do you need to remove the rear axle from the hub to replace the disc

Ohhhh you say the pads go on either side of the disk…. I put them together to one side and while the bike makes alittle more noise, the pads last forever! the
