Stupid question? What about mounting onto a trailer and towing it behind; I only camp a couple times a year and then the rest of the time I can still have the trailer to use for other things (at least instead of swapping the SUV for a ute, or buying a second car to carry this)?
Hi That shouldn’t matter as long as you don’t overhang more than 60% pass your rear axle To check measure the distance from the center of the front axle to the center of the rear axle plus 60% That would be your maximum overhang I hope this helps
Hi there. There is enough weight behind, that you couldn't put enough people on the bed for it to tip forwards. The weight of the mattress is evenly distributed across the base, so there's no issues with the bottom breaking. These have been extensively real world tested.

Another advantage over a caravan is that you can tow a trailer ( boat, motorbikes, etc) as well.
I bet you can’t tow anything heavy, the towing vehicle would be at its weight limit on the rear axle.
