  • In this video, I add a 3rd row jump seat to my 2002 Discovery 2. My Disco came with cargo storage bins in the cargo area and I got all the parts to convert one of them into the jump seat. This video shows what I had to remove, what parts I had to get, and what tools are needed to get the job done!

Great video! So much more fun watching someone else doing all that work than doing it myself. 😀

Second in existence lol I did mine last year to my 2000 D2. I left my second row seats off so I can have my gf in the passenger and my daughter in the jump seat with so much leg room plus my semi big dog, and room for luggage.. you did a good job by the way, I was exactly the same way as you since it was my first time doing it haha.. i just finished converting my core support to a bolt on..

That's awesome! It was a fun project. It actually works nicely with the jump seat and no seat middle seat for hauling stuff. Gives more room than with the middle row folded forward. I think my next project will be a steel front bumper. So core support to bolt on? I'm not familiar with that upgrade?

@@SkippyRockGame not really an upgrade haha.. it got front end damage from an accident so I had to drill out all of the plug welds replace core support, radiator, oil and trans cooler, and AC sys. But instead of plug welding core support back on, I did a bolt on set up. I used to do it to my drift cars when I used to drift. Makes it so much easier if I have to replace anything in the future.. also thinking about putting 2 steel bars from the firewall to the core support so if it does get in an accident again I don't damage and radiator etc.

I’ve owned a couple discos… I did the 3rd row seating delete on the 02 SE7 I have now so I had more storage!! Plus I never used them lol they just sit occupying space in the garage lol good work! Some people like those seats… others delete!!! Keep the disco 2 vids coming!!! Thanks 👍👍

I posted a short of this same project and the one comment I got was "the engine will explode before anyone ever uses that seat"!

I just bought a 2004 land rover discovery 2 on copart from Tucson, AZ for 600 fees all in 1081.00 with 146k on odometer the discovery was in a accident in December 30 2023 front end with no airbag deployed, what impressed how frame/ undercarriage was no rust anywhere no oil leaks no door dings or hail damage, this is a 7 seater but no seats stolen or previous owner still has them bummer 😢 , even tho I probably would have removed them for more storage , I will need new passenger fender, hood, grill ,I will need to pull fender out and reshape it hopefully, engine will bump no star due to fan clutch and radiator touching, and I need radiator support bracket and 2 headlights, mine white also , head liner needs replaced, rear sun roof open , closes but won't seat on roof stuck in the vented position, interior in good shape but nasty filthy I'm pulling out carpet for a real scrubbing & shampoo, my plans are building a off road/ overlanding build once I know if engine shot I want a l s swap lost cause channel did a swap well detailed viedo , I have always liked the discovery 2 no air suspension thank god , I also own a land rover lr3 hse got it off copart 1100, that has the air suspension I really like the lr3 also too bad the discovery wasn't made with a split tail gate instead of swing door anyway good luck on your project

That's awesome! It's really pretty fun taking apart older cars, cleaning them up and putting them back together. I've got a Porsche 968 I'm working on freshening up now!
