If they want to be high end, they’d better improve their quality! I will not spend the money on LV leather pieces because the quality is not in line with the prices. A $500 Coach bag is higher quality than a $4,000 LV bag.
Actually the quality is equal to knockoffs now. You are paying for bragging rights which is very superficial anyways and cannot be measured in $dollars.
I agree quality is horrible compare to other high end items. I will never spend money on LV EVER AGAIN!!!!! I’m also flabbergasted about the commission sale. Unacceptable .
@@valleygirl670 so true.. top quality replica are made by people with very good knowledge of the company, lol... i would buy it, but don't want their name on it..just the style...
I’m so surprised to find out how little the SAs make on commission for canvas! It’s ridiculous to hear. I am always respectful towards my SAs but I will now be even more respectful and appreciative of what they do for us. Thanks for sharing this!! 🥰🥰🥰
Um, no, you don’t perpetuate an unfair system. This is the type of compliance that makes most communist countries remain totalitarian. Complain actively, blast the unfair policies on social media, approach the managers directly, express your concerns, fight for what you stand for. That is the only way to make a change.
Girl I was thinking the same thing in fact I thought while I’m spending $1600 why not just tipper on the side as a little thank you! 20 bucks wouldn’t hurt now that I know what they actually make
Great insights, thanks for sharing. I’ve been so turned off by LV that I’ve stopped buying from the brand in the past year. The greed is truly disgusting and how they treat their employees is even worse. They will never reach the heights of Hermes or even Chanel selling their leather goods because if I want a leather bag, I’d rather buy a Chanel bag. If I want a canvas piece, I’ll go to LV, this is their foundation, their bread and butter. Their greed will one day be their collapse. Thanks for sharing.
Thank you so much for your comment! I'd also much rather buy a chanel for my money, but their prices are out of this world too...so I'd rather take a vacation than have a bag! xo
@@dialmstyle Even my SA hide the same reasoning to me when I felt uncomfortable to ruin a $1,000 boots. She was reminding me it just a over inflated priced good. And it true sadly.
Im appreciative of SAs thats why i mentioned in my vlog that we should be nice to them. Alot of people think that those SAs who work for these luxurious brands get high pay, it is good that you tackle these things so people would be aware. Stay safe, fellow Asian here
Thank you so much! People should just be nice, period! A lot of people feel entitled to "quality" goods and are mean to the people who work there. I think they should just shop elsewhere! xoxo
I’m so sorry that the commission for CAs have been reduced. They do deserve so much for what they do. As for canvas pieces, I think your best bet is building that great relationship with your CAs. That is how I am able to acquire pieces I truly want. Thank you for your video.
That is awful the commission is so low for so much hard work! I just wanted to express how much I respect you for speaking out against the Anti Asian hatred that is flooding this country. None of the youtubers I watch have made any mention of this on their channels. It really gives makes me rethink who I should be subscribed to and follow. When push comes to shove, the support just isn’t there. Again thank you and I love both your eloquence in speaking and your elegance in your style.
@@gorgeouss79 me too. It is tone deaf for sure. It is like if it doesn’t happen to them or affect anyone they know, it is swept under the rug like it is not happening. Just really disappointed. But I am uplifted that you care about this issue. Thank you for that.
@@dialmstyle I agree. None of the youtubers I follow have mentioned this issue. I could be wrong but it looks like unboxing the next LV “IT” bag is more important to them. However I noticed many subscribers of a channel I follow called Diannainkorea have made supportive comments in the comments sections of their videos. This is a real wake up call for me to go in other directions in terms of the videos I watch. I donated money to grandma Xiao Zhen Xie’s go fund and I am touched by the support from people of different races around the world. Yes I do feel we are for the most part in this fight alone as Asians/Asian Americans. So many Asians/Asian Americans have been attacked on a daily basis and many turn a blind eye to these crimes of HATE. Within my own family, brother in law is African American and my niece is biracial Asian American and African American. We have to tackle race issues head on no matter the discomfort of some matters/issues. Everyone in the family would be affected if me/auntie or Lola/grandma gets attacked. I am also deeply disturbed and hurt that not one person in my group of non Asian friends have mentioned these attacks or their support for Asians during this time.
Really appreciate the info, Michelle. Thank you!❤️ Also wanted to add that this video was really good in giving insight into what Client Advisers are faced with daily and why sometimes they just can't find us the piece we want. The commission rates are shocking! For a brand that sells tens of thousands of dollars a day handing on average 10 dollars to the CA? Yeah babe, it is pretty insulting, I agree. :(
I’m done with L.V. - Bought Valentino and I’m going to buy Dior and Chanel - the only thing I would consider is a Capucines and that is because I have a ton of Nordy Notes - and it is a CONSIDERATION only - Thanks for the info
I actually hate presales. I think luxury purchases shouldn’t be some sort of rush to hoard experience. It should be an enjoyable experience that doesn’t involve paying for things unseen and hoping you get one...eventually. Thank you for speaking out against the AAPI hate and violence in America right now.
Thank you so much for your comments always! Yes, definitely these launches have become a race, and most of them don't even look good to me, they are starting to look like rushed pieces with clipped on slg's and a sporty strap for everything. Ugh!
@@dialmstyle yes! I liked the uniqueness of the MPA when it initially launched but that doesn’t mean I want a nylon strap and SLGs on everything. It’s become too much and it’s no longer a unique one-off style.
Thank you for sticking up for the Asian community ❤️. My husband and daughter are Asian. We are lucky that neither has been the focus of any type of attack, and very little discrimination where we live. I know others are not as lucky and hope they know they are NOT alone.
When I used to live in the city we saw anti-Asian attacks frequently by African Americans who resented the Vietnamese that opened businesses in historically black neighborhoods. I remember a lady telling me that she was constantly taunted by young kids in the neighborhood who would run at her like they were going to hit her. She was terrified. Her experiences in Vietnam caused her to be afraid of the police so she wouldn’t report them. Sadly this isn’t new. At least Asians are reporting what is going on. My prayers for your community.
Thank you so much darling for mentioning recent situations in this country. So sad this happening every day. That is too bad that Louis Vuitton SA can’t do pre ordered on canvas and poor commission. I also noticed their canvas pieces are getting more and more expensive. Thank you so much for sharing the information darling ❤️
I want the reverse pochette metis, I’ve called, emailed, gone down there, you are totally right, they aren’t doing a list, my SA said he would let me know when one comes in but doesn’t know when it will be. The email also said they will have it but don’t know when. Their tactics suck, I don’t want to be forced to buy from a reseller but I might be if they won’t sell me the damn bag. I watch the site consistently, it’s so frustrating. I’m going to Disneyland for the first time, in October, and I really wanted to bring a new bag for the trip 😞
That’s a huge turn off as a customer tbh! I used to work in high end jewelry and commission started at 2% and went up to 3-4% It adds up quickly especially if you sold diamonds/engagement.
Melanie Jarrett oh, employees are not allowed to sell on the black market until they no longer work there! They will find out! It’s people who go to the stores and buy up popular stuff! I remember seeing a RUclipsr who bought 4 Palm Springs minis, 2 mono, 2 reverse, and admitted she was going to sell them!!
Hi Michelle, I’m not sure how I landed on your page but I’m so glad I did! So I wanted to take a moment to leave u a comment and support. I only started purchasing Louis Vuitton monogram pieces 2 years ago when I finally decided that it’s time to invest on some of the pieces that I have been eyeing for before they keep raising the prices. I’m very lucky to have multiple CA that helped me, above and beyond to get the things that I want. A lot of the pieces though, I did stalk the website and purchased them there but for sure if they were available in store and I could help the CA on their commission, I would be more than happy to get it from them. I’ve been watching a few of your videos and I just want to say thank you for sharing the experience and the hardships because it is very eye-opening. I never assume that CA have control on the inventory because I know they don’t ! To me it’s always a matter of luck, and if it jsut happens to be available in the store when I visit. I’m also in the retail industry myself. It honestly does not matter which store or how high end, a lot of consumers just do not have the self respect or respect for others to treat them nicely. I am in management And I have always treated my team with respect and recognize their hard work. I always hope that the companies would recognize all of us together who work in the field with better pay and commission. Anyway, that’s just my humble opinion. And I do want to say that I am happy they are removing the waitlist because I feel like it does not work. It should be first come serve first serve and may be limiting the pieces of how many monogram pieces each customer can buy because seriously every time I go and nothing is available for me lol
Hi! Thank you for taking the time to write such a nice note. I really appreciate all your thoughts. Lack of self respect and respect for others is right! Consumerism and corporations have really created a monster of unrealistic expectations and on demand service! Despite those, I’m happy there are still kind customers and managers such as yourself to set an example. Kindness goes such a long way! 💕
I love LV canvas because it's so durable. I am getting fed up with them though regarding how difficult it is to actually purchase from the boutique new designs, canvas or otherwise. For me, it somewhat cheapens the brand seeing them all turn up on Fashionphile shortly after release. Lately I've been drifting to other brands such as Celine.
I agree with you! I do feel too, if you have a few good canvas pieces, that’s all you need. Everything coming from the brand lately is too trendy!! Thanks for your comment! 💕
I feel you so much. In our store it was exactly the same nonsense. At one point we didn’t accept preorders for hot products (like Pochette Métis...) anymore. But stoping preorders for all canvas items makes no sense. BTW in my country they took away the whole commission on canvas but increased the one for leather. Maybe it has changed since I left... Obviously the commission is ridiculous but taking it to zero is devaluation of the employees effort. Appreciating that you mentioned the racism issue. My boyfriend is also Asian and since all this I do worry about him being out more. It’s a shame. In diversity we find our common strength. Only uneducated people go the racist track.
Nonsense is the correct word! Whether it's 1% or 2% or zero, it's an insult to the employees :( Thank you so much! I feel the more people know, the better they will be! xoxo.
I love your honesty and you are beautiful! I used to buy and sell pre owned LV bags in the past and have carried many of them. I now only have the Tureene and some small accessories pieces because the styles were not comfortable to wear. I would like to try the Mabillon but it is too expensive for what it is. LV is under bad management and they will suffer the consequences for it. If they treat their employees bad then they treat their customers worse. A unhappy employee makes for unhappy customers. I have been buying vintage Coach bags and bringing them back to a full life and love a couple styles. With age, I have found I only need the bags I actually carry and that work for me. Vintage Coach was such good quality that they are an easy lifetime bag. High end designer items are only as nice as the need and most don’t carry well or are needed. Too bad for LV that their bread is going away by price and quality and their butter is going else where to spend their money on. I really like your videos and experience. Thanks for sharing it!
Oh my gosh this is sad to hear! I love my CA so much she is amazing!! I buy so much canvas bags but no wonder why she kept asking me when I want a capucine. That's why I always give her a gift card every transaction, it's usually juat $50 starbucks e card but now ill bump it up! I know how hard she works, that's so sad for the CA's. Thank you so much for sharing!!! And also for bringing up Asian attacks, I'm asian too and that means alot! Thank you you're amazing!! Just subscribed❤️
Wow, you are so kind and generous! I wish all clients appreciated their CA's, to tell you the truth, it's less than 20% that are appreciative :( Thank you so much for watching, commenting and subscribing xoxo
@@dialmstyle aaaww Thank you!! Yes clients should appreciate their CA more wether by simple gift or texting sweet appreciative messages. I call my CA my "fairy BAGmother" lol I am saving for an exotic piece perfect for mothers day lol Thank you for sharing.I'm binge watching your video 🥰
Great video. Yes, canvas pieces are getting extremely rare to buy online as they once were more available online to purchase. In my opinion, in regards to customers, is when new pieces are posted online the customers back East have a better chance in getting the new pieces than the West coast customers due to the fact of the time difference. Hawaii customers can’t even hope to order a new piece online because they are 5 to 6 hours behind New York time. If customers are up at New York time at 12 midnight, that’s the only way to get a new piece online. This is unfair and I hope one day Louis Vuitton can make it more fair to all customers.
Wow, LV is a hot mess (not surprised!) Thank you for sharing your sentiments on the disgusting hate crimes (especially since many targeted are the elderly). Can't express enough disappoimtment that in 2021, we are still not in a world where ALL lives matter. 😢
I’m not at all surprised that commission is low. I’ve worked retail both in a major department store at a cosmetic counter and as a car salesperson, and neither job produces much commission. Selling cars has a higher commission, but the markup and profit is not close to what others perceive it is. I’ve been in some Louis Vuitton boutiques where the SA didn’t seem that interested in whether I bought something or not. In any company, corporate profits are the bottom line. Some people actively dislike knowing that commission is paid for an item because they think it’s taking money out of their pockets. LV prices have gone up so much and the quality has shrunk considerably. This push for customers to buy leather takes away from what the company is known for. They need to focus on quality and stop releasing so many new collections. I’m glad you addressed Asian hate crimes. Unfortunately it’s politically motivated and it needs to stop. I’ll leave it at that.
I worked a long time in cosmetics, but as the makeup artist, so I didn't have to deal with the commissions. I actually found it way more enjoyable, people like to feel beautiful. I thought shopping would make people feel good, but the amount of disgruntled (entitled) shoppers at LV takes the cake!
@@dialmstyle You are right on both accounts. I have seen some entitled people while shopping in LV and I know that in their minds, they are being classy but they come across as boorish. I’m curious how many complaints people have made about their leather starting to patina. It’s one of my pet peeves, people buying items with vachetta and acting as if the patina is a flaw, when obviously it’s supposed to happen, hence the use of this leather.
Thank you for supporting Asian communities babe. Supporting love for all. And thank you always for the information. I have one LV piece and kinda done with what they do as a company. Take care sweetie ❤️
I resent paying for a name/brand and making them richer while the company abuses its employees 🤮 almost makes me want to buy much cheaper often better quality super fakes.
The greed is something else when they can’t pay their people correctly. Even trying to fight unemployment. Terrible. I have all the canvas pieces I need. Maybe all the Louis Vuitton I need. Thanks for talking about this. Take care. Stay safe
Personally, i much prefer buying pre-owned pieces and vintage LV, the pre owned market is full of gems, it seems to me that quality was way better a few decades ago vs now.
It’s a strange time in the world where there is a line at the food bank and at LV. I’ve been told that rodeo blvd stores like Chanel and LV are putting up signs that they will no longer take gov’t assistance Visa cards for their goods. Groups would come in with 20 cards at a time to buy a piece.
You are right. There’s a line for food and people whining about their luxury goods. Interesting about the visa, but having worked for the company, they may reject the card, but I doubt they actually put up signs! Thanks for watching! 💕
Thank you for explaining what is going on with LV. I am a longtime collector and have purchased several items pre-order so was disappointed that BTP collection will not be available this way. I doubt it will stop the resellers if that is the goal. BUT, it is a turnoff for me- I have scaled way back on my purchases. I do not want LV leather- for that, I go to Hermes or Bottega. LV is canvas- like you said, it is their iconic heritage material. But there is also a quality issue lately that has given me pause. I have a nice vintage collection but I feel sorry for new collectors. I hate that LV is so awful to their SA's- I absolutely love every SA I have worked with at LV. I hope you have moved onto a better job.
Vintage is the way to go! I find the new styles rushed and not very impressive for designer luxury, just logo mania. Thank you so much for your comments. I definitely am happier, but I learned a lot from this experience. 💕
Hi Michelle. Thank you for letting your viewers know about what the Asian hatred nowadays. I am Asian. I worry more for my adult children than myself. I hope something would be done about this issue. I still am waiting to buy some canvas purses to be available. Take care & be safe❣️
After having some great SA’s over the years and watching them “move on” or “retire” and leaving me to build another “purchasing history” with a new SA, I now understand why they left. It’s a terrible oversight on LV’s part... SA’s are working hard to sell the product and are so incredibly under compensated!! Personally, after 30+ years of being a “good client”, I’m kinda over LV... actually, done with LV. Thanks for a great video!
That is awful that about the attack on the Asian women and elderly. I am half Asian and it hurts to see that. Also thank you for the info on LV. I feel so bad for the people that work there.
I‘m so glad I found your channel, it‘s so interesting to get some of these special insights to LV! (And by now I‘m starting to watch some of your older videos aswell 😁 - could really bingewatch, if I would not have to work 😆) I’ve allways been kind of suprised, why so many people prefer the canvas so badly 😅. For sure, I love my canvas pieces aswell - but if I can get the same model of bag in leather, for only quite small amount on top, I prefer the leather version! (For example I got two pochette metis in empreinte leather, but no canvas one)
Thank you so much! Oh, I agree with you, the leather version of the pochette metis looks better, and only a few hundred more, however, it's the Canvas that people want for the logo, and somehow hold re-sale value very well. For me, I only need ONE canvas! Thanks for watching! xoxo
Wow, I had no idea they get such a small commission!! Insane and wrong. The world is full of hate right now. Everyone is insanely hateful and I can’t stand it. I do have a RUclips channel and I haven’t talked about any of it but NOT because I don’t care. I absolutely do. A lot actually. I just keep my channel as an escape. I treat everyone with respect and teach my children to do the same. I DO stand with everyone who is good and will never hate because of a race. I’m glad you touched on it 🖤🖤
I watch a lot of your videos, I don’t usually comment. However, I wanted to say that you should never feel it’s a “sensitive” topic to speak your truth. You deserve to live a life from from racism and when that is being encroached upon, it’s you’re right to speak on it. I speak from experience. ❤️
I’m really hoping you can help me with this! So I got a new Speedy for Christmas they no longer have serial numbers in them they now have chips. When I got the girl on the phone to ask where my bag was made because I wanted to know she said that the bags were now made in multiple countries and then assembled she didn’t know where then she got off the phone for a long time and came back and totally backtracked and said we only make them in three places… Now I know a lot of people think that they took the serial number off because of counterfeit issues but they could’ve easily added a microchip along with the serial number and it’s my fear that they’re now making them in China or Vietnam or someplace other than Italy France or the USA and they don’t want to label that on their serial number can you tell me your opinion on this? I think they’re going to cheaper countries and making a cheaper product my brand new bag zipper stuck and I was like this is a Louis Vuitton?
I don’t know if you heard but LV started doing microchip on their bag starting in March. My new Alma bb that I just purchased had a microchip wi the all the information. My sale associate told me that I can just take it to the store and they can scanned and it will show all the information that they are no longer doing date code. What I’m not sure if it shows my name when they scanned. She said it’s a new way of fighting counterfeit. We will see what this will do to the pre loved market in the future. My bags are forever pieces for me but I can see a lot of people not liking the microchip.
Thank you so much! I just heard of the rfid chip, and no, customer info is not store. It’s inserted in the bag at the factory. I’m pretty sure though the good counterfeiters might just add their own chips! Thanks for watching! 💕
I gotta say I'm not a big fan of the microchipping of the bags... who knows what information is stored in there, should you want/need to sell it in the future.
@@stargirl6555 yea I have no idea also when it goes through the airport will the X-ray machine see the microchip as some suspicious in your bag only time will tell
I hate the purchase limitations online. So people are resorting to fashionphile and other pre love websites. Purchase limitations should be higher not everyone lives close to a boutique. I do not resell. I love my client advisor she is awesome. Thank goodness I have her help.
Oh yes, once they find the credit card works, they will try to buy everything. Happens in store, online, and via phone order! Someone stole my card number and bought online!!
This brings things in perspective. I’ve noticed LV customer service go downhill in my area. There’s 4 within a 10 mile radius of where I live. The waiting line to get inside would be very long and the SAs never seem to care. But, the moment you go in the store, you’re rushed!
This is the fault of management, because the goals are so high, and lines so long, we have no choice but to rush through! It's exhausting both mentally and physically. Thank you so much for watching! xoxo
Thank you for another informative video. You should write a book about luxury retailers and the games they play. Did you ever read Bringing Home the Birkin? It was wonderful. It put me off Hermes temporarily. I got over it, of course, but I never thought about Hermes in the same way. BTW, I stand with Asian-Americans. People should not be afraid to leave their homes.
That book would never publish as I'm a procrastinator and perfectionist! I have worked in product development though, so perhaps there's more I can share about the profit and margins. Knowing that, I was never super interested in buying luxury, knowing I was overpaying!! Thank you so much for your support of my community. xoxo
In the early 90's I purchased an LV wallet at Duty Free in New Zealand. That wallet costs me about $220. The glazing on the wallet cracked and the leather peeled. Since then, I vowed never to purchase an LV item ever again. Ironically, 30 years later, LV still hasn't fixed the glazing issues. Its sad to watch people here on youtube suckered into thinking LV is luxury. I don't find LV a luxury brand. Its a brand for suckers who think LV is luxury. Luxury to me is quality and craftsmanship. I couldn't give a rats ass about LV's heritage. I want a quality item with no issues and without having to baby the item afraid it might fall apart.
Thank you for speaking out to #stopAsianhate. Another video with great insight. I only learned this past January that my CA’s commission on canvas was so low. Hearing that it’s gone even lower is jaw-dropping. Love the point you made about the money lining the pockets of the rich and not going to the well-deserving “frontline” or front-of-house staff who are the true ambassadors and gatekeepers of the brand. LV is my first luxury love, but I’ve not been loving what’s out there for awhile, or at least loving enough to bring home and keep in my collection. I’ve actually been selling most of my LV collection to fund Chanel, because those prices are ridiculous. I’m selling a lot and gaining a small Chanel collection that makes me 😊 so I can reach a modicum of purse peace.
I don't understand why the twist is so expensive, it is almost the same price as chanel mini flap !! Come on !!! I live the twist ! Every time I'm bout to buy it, I abstain !!!! I know that the video is one year old but I would like to show my support to Asian community in USA and Canada! Be strong 💪
Thank you for your support, it’s still on going ❤️. After owning my Chanel Mini Flap for almost 2 years, I would go for the Twist, the leather is much better. Both companies will extort you! 😂
Hi Michelle, Thank you for sharing this enlightening information. I also appreciate you calling out the anti-Asian actions that have surged in this country. Take care and stay safe! 🥰😷💕 Cheers, Lorna
This was an interesting topic and makes me wonder why the CA's are always so unfriendly in store to me. I left nearly 10 k in 8 weeks in online purchases. I dont understand why they pushed me away from buying in store. The commission is laughable and it is sad to know that LV is not enforcing the people on the ground. I hope you and your family stays safe. Racism is always useless and should not be tolerated.
I don't think people realize how LV actually subsidizes other struggling luxury brands owned by LVMH,, including bankrolling the recent acquisition of Tiffany. So it doesn't all funnel straight to executives, it's also shuffled around other parts of the conglomerate.
@@dialmstyle True, but even LV alone, is only about a 50billion dollar company at the moment. Bernard Arnault is personally worth almost 180billion, and has his financial empire with near monopolistic control of luxury lifestyle brands.
Hi Michelle, I support you 100% as an Asian sister. Thanks for your LV insight. Being a LV fan, it’s so hard to hear that their Client Advisors get only $10 to less than $25 commissions in a day when they work so hard! Restaurant servers and cafe staff will make a lot more tips less than an hour. The best “revenge” is to become Louis Vuitton shareholders! Lol Since they increase prices so much, I decided to invest in their shares since last May and the stocks increased 56% almost 60% increases sometimes. So I decided to become a LV investor than a LV consumer! Lol By the way, I subscribed to your channel now.
Hi there! Thank you so much! Up until now, I always thought LVMH was privately held! Or is it not available to the US, I have never seen it through my brokerage. That is great news for you! ✨ I appreciate your comment! 💕
I’m so sorry that this awful situation is happening towards the Asian community. You should not have to worry about your family. As Americans if we see this kind of behavior in our country we need to not only speak out but help when it happens.
Honestly the full leather bags in Lv looks is not so high end looking... they cant compete chanel and hermes. The lv canvas is a success. I feel so bad for the SA hopefully they get better salary and commission. This is a luxury brand and the SA deserve good money as well.
Agree with all! The leather is not that luxurious for the price...I’d rather spend at Chanel! I’m glad you see this perspective! Thanks Bien, I love your channel too 💕
I mean LV jewelry isn’t quality. I’m not trying to be sassy, I love LV & I’m incredibly bougie, but these fashion houses jewelry is a step up from costume jewelry
I don't know what happened to the luxury industry, the quality keeps declining and prices keep going up. The brand is abusing it's employees as much as the it's customers. Why do people still keep buying?
Just out of curiosity, where do the canvas and leather mixed pieces fit in? Are they catalogued as canvas or as leather? They're a higher price point (think Pallas or V Tote). Anyway, a really insightful video and sad commentary on the greed driving the luxury industry. Sadly, LV doesn't seem to understand that their brand has always been an "aspirational" ideal for the common person. Those who can afford and like LV leather have already been buying it, meaning they're not going to add new customers on that end. Those that have always wanted, and saved, for the "iconic" (ie canvas) look of LV are being priced out and turned off by these changes. The only thing that will keep things moving are the multiple limited edition drops that come like clockwork, but they are very hit or miss. Sending thoughts of peace and healing to you and the whole AAPI community. The more people speak up, the more positive change there will be.
Thank you Anto for always commenting! LV is definitely aspirational, and they are in no way dropping their canvas customer. It's just a way to keep more money at the top. They are churning out special collections like forever 21, but people keep buying. Those pieces such as Pallas and V tote, they are classified as Canvas :( xoxo
Thank you so much Anna! I went back to makeup, got my esthetician license, and writing a lesson plan for makeup, image, and self-care for busy women. Kind of like a re-boot for moms. I will bring it to my channel as it develops! xoxo
They absolutely made the wrong move reducing commission on canvas pieces - and more so treating their greatest asset, their SA’s as disposable. My relationship with my sa(s) is the reason why I keep coming back to the brand! Get it together corporate. Incentivize the product you want sold, do not punish your greatest asset - your employees!
Do you think it’s true that they’re discontinuing their canvas pieces entirely? I’ve seen these rumours circulating since 2015 on various forums and YT, but I personally find it hard to believe. The canvas is the heart and soul of the brand and the canvas bags like the speedy are an iconic part of fashion history. It would be a colossal mistake to discontinue those...
Absolutely they are not…it’s the bulk of the business! They are trying to get people to buy more leather…however, social media always starts a panic. All this always works in LV’s favor!
When I was younger I bought many canvas pieces because that’s all I could afford. Now I only get higher end pieces because canvas pieces are dime in dozen and there are more knock offs than real pieces on the street.
Hey! Thanks for an interesting video! Some of the Louis Vuitton bracelets are nice and I really liked the Unicef necklace when it came out ; ) Sad to hear that the client advisor’s situation with commissions have worsened, and it’s also sad that racism has increased in the US. I personally don’t like this new LV strategy, but overall I still like the brand. Hope that you have a nice week!
Hi Robin! Thanks for your comments! Vuitton has great brand history, true fans can appreciate that. Corporate greed and social media has made it something else!
This is nuts .. I have never had a big issue getting a LV bag , I buy in London when I’m there and I have been able to just walk in and walk out with my products.
I live in Sweden and I've also just walked in and bought canvas pieces. I'm really gutted about how Asians being treated in US. Happy Easter and stay safe
I am completely done with LV! I have several brand new monogram pieces that I purchased last year. What do you advise that I should do? Do I sell now or just wait several years since prices are expected to go up? Also, could you do a video on the new LV decision to do away with date codes? What are the pros and cons? I’m Asian too. Hi Maria! As someone who likes to sell her stuff, I list the item for what I am willing to part with it for and wait. It depends if you are in a rush or not, but reselling prices are high now, I would! I just heard of the date code...working on it 😉. Thank you for your comments 💕
Wow... hearing about the commission is ridiculous!! I love LV, but the way they treat their employees is horrible :/ I’ve always bought LV online, but I hope to build a relationship with a SA in the near future 🥺 I’d totally bring some treats for them to help them get through the day.
Great insights, I had been in retail all my life LV selling tactics are very unique thank you for sharing. Your mentioning Of current situation against Asians is very touching. Thank you.
Now subscribed and loving your videos! This isn’t applicable to this video, but considering you’ve been an employee and long time LV lover, when it comes to hobo style bags such as the graceful, what do you recommend for interior protection while maintaining the slouchy style? Better off getting a smaller size than normal for an interior organizer, or using cosmetic/toiletry pouches instead? Also wondering for bags you saw where the corners were damaged did those owners use organizers aka does it cause any type of permanent damage with long time use? TIA!
Hi Amanda, great question! For the slouchy bags, I prefer the cosmetics pouches. As for the organizers, it has been said that the corners of the organizer will wear on the bag, but I have not seen this yet. However. The best thing to do is rotate your handbags, so that reduces the amount of excessive wear on any one bag, keeps stuff from accumulating inside, air them out, etc. I’m planning a video on bag care soon! Thanks for watching! 💕
I'd also love the know what they pay their craftsman and women. I'm told they pay terrible wages and then have the audacity to charge so much. People claim fakes are made in sweatshops, but alot of these brands do the same.
.1% is crazy!!!! I know the amount of time associates have to spend with the customer does not depend on the material of the product! Really feel bad for the associates, by doing this LV is almost forcing the associates to give first time buyers, for example, a bad experience so that they can move onto a client who is going to spend on higher value items. I don’t understand how they can continue to increase prices yet lower the commission. 😒
Oh boy, thanks for sharing this fantastic piece of information. Gotta love YT for this stuff! Time to stick with the wayyyyyy vintage pieces. This just makes me feel disgusted. For some reason this company has themselves wrapped around my fingers - love their vintage pieces, especially trunks and I surely am looking to collect some in the future. However, their business today just puts me completely off them. Take care, dear.
I like to re-watch your videos 😬 I was wondering if you know- are the people who answer the phone when we call LV client services also CA’s? One of them said she could be my personal CA, but I thought that was just in stores. Do the guys on the phone get commission too? Which is better, store or phone (in terms of perks for the client)? I want to buy a few things but I’m not sure which to go with- the person on the phone or the CA in store
@@dialmstyle they don’t?! Whyyyy, that’s so terrible. I hate when luxury brands and billion dollar corporations can’t compensate their hard working employees properly 🤬
I dont like the leather at all, too heavy.. not my taste AND its beyond expensive I'd rather save for a chanel , I do love canvas and wish they had more stock on those... Ive been wanting a neverfull GM for months and its never online .. so redic
Been trying to purchase a speedy 25 DE, from France due to canvas on my Neverfull from USA being so thin. Has LV has changed canvas? Love your video ❤️❤️and I am in CA; hate what is happening with attacks in Asian people 😂😂
Thank you so much Pat! The materials are actually the same weather it's from France or US. LV has about 5 different canvases, based on how much structure the bag needs. The speedy is not as structured and meant to be folded, so the canvas is more pliable. I don't think there's a difference in Neverfull where it's from! Thanks for watching!
I just discovered your channel and found this very interesting! Thanks for sharing. I just did a tag by Kat L on Luxury Time Machine and would love to see your take on this tag! ❤️
Call me a hater but I get annoyed with the chummy SA relationships as LV is not located everywhere leaving many of us at a great disadvantage. It is very sad and distasteful that LV doesn't value their SA's. Lastly, LV should stick to being LV, they will never be in the class of Chanel when it comes to Chanel handbags. The Capucine is not everyone's style, (it looks too matronly for me) and the resell wouldn't come close to Chanel. Thanks for the info!
Thank you so much for your comments! Agree with you completely! The capucines is a heavy awkward bag, I’d much rather have a classic Chanel! As for having a CA, I addressed this in the comment section of another video, that you can call the store and try to find one person you can keep in touch with. It’s tough though, as it may take time. Thanks again for watching!
@@dialmstyle i tried striking up a relationship with another CA at another boutique after my CA left. Called and talked to CA that found an item and sent to me. However when I tried again to order or find an item she said to contact another CA at her store. I tried several times but never heard back from anyone! Between this experience and quality of LV canvas product I've decided that I have enough LV purses and SLG's and will not be purchasing any more. I have 10 bags...almost one for every month so no need for any more LOL!
If they want to be high end, they’d better improve their quality! I will not spend the money on LV leather pieces because the quality is not in line with the prices. A $500 Coach bag is higher quality than a $4,000 LV bag.
Thanks for your comment! Although people equate price to quality, with LV you are paying for the brand! They never claim to be quality!
so true!
Thank you for your comment! I felt that people should know!
Wow 😳 I also thought was so little. I always thought was around 3% at least.
Chanel is worse than lv, they are even greedier. Problem is lv is trying to reach chanel and chanel is trying to be hermes. Purely because of greed.
Thank you so much for your comment! I'd also much rather buy a chanel for my money, but their prices are out of this world too...so I'd rather take a vacation than have a bag! xo
You are so right! A lot of these "luxury" brands do not need to be raising their prices, but people keep buying! Thank you for your comment! xo
@@diodaon4898 A thousand percent yes.
Wow... 0.1%? The way they price increase.... they can afford to pay more commission to the SA. Disgusting.
Thank you for watching! I feel people should know!
Thanks for been frank about what LV is doing. Some influencers are sugar coating the ways these fashion houses are been.
Really? I’m not sure what to sugar coat about...you overpaid hundreds or thousands for this “luxury” item! Thank you for your comment! 💕
@@dialmstyle Even my SA hide the same reasoning to me when I felt uncomfortable to ruin a $1,000 boots. She was reminding me it just a over inflated priced good. And it true sadly.
This is making me not buy anything from LV anymore. I feel so bad for the employees 🥺
Thank you so much for your comment! xo
Right
Im appreciative of SAs thats why i mentioned in my vlog that we should be nice to them.
I think they should just shop elsewhere! xoxo
Hi Michelle! Thank you for this video. I’m with you on the last points for Asian hate. It’s horrible and should not be happening to anyone!
Thank you so much 💕 My heart is full from all the support!!
I’m so sorry that the commission for CAs have been reduced. They do deserve so much for what they do.
As for canvas pieces, I think your best bet is building that great relationship with your CAs. That is how I am able to acquire pieces I truly want. Thank you for your video.
You’re correct on both! Thanks for watching! 💕
Thank you so much, it means so much❤️ I really debated about editing it out, and I’m glad I can at least bring awareness in any little way I can. ❤️
I watch a few Asian RUclipsrs and not one has mentioned anything. 😕
@@gorgeouss79 me too. It is tone deaf for sure. It is like if it doesn’t happen to them or affect anyone they know, it is swept under the rug like it is not happening. Just really disappointed. But I am uplifted that you care about this issue. Thank you for that.
gorgeouss79 I’d say ALL youtubers, not just the Asian ones. We are fighting this fight alone when other minorities don’t stand by us.
Hello sweet Patricia! Thank you so much for your comment! 💕
I’m done with L.V. - Bought Valentino and I’m going to buy Dior and Chanel - the only thing I would consider is a Capucines and that is because I have a ton of Nordy Notes - and it is a CONSIDERATION only - Thanks for the info
Dior, Valentino are underrated compared to LV! Thanks for watching 💕
They want to put a dent in preloved then you don’t raise your prices 3 times in 1 year.
They are making money regardless! Thank you for watching!
@@dialmstyle true. i dont think they give a s. People who buy preloved bags are not their target Customer.
Thank you for your comment! I just want more people to talk about it and understand that we are not the enemy or easy targets 💕
Monique Lehnhardt this is terrible to hear, and you are right, it’s not new. It’s a hate crime and it’s getting worse. Thank you for your comments 💕
Hi Irene! Thank you so much for your wonderful comments always. Take care and be safe 💕
Not all bags are meant to be yours… 🌸
True :( I’m not a fan of their newer styles though, the wild at heart and coin looking bags aren’t for me
Wow.... the commission is extremely L-O-W!!! 😠😩 I thought 💭 the SA were making good money. Thanks for the info.
L-O-W is right! Shows how much they appreciate the sales associate! Thank you for watching! xo
That’s a huge turn off as a customer tbh! I used to work in high end jewelry and commission started at 2% and went up to 3-4%
It adds up quickly especially if you sold diamonds/engagement.
Melanie Jarrett very very strict limitations! Basically if it’s popular, we are not allowed to it!
Lord! My poor SA! I’m gonna start tipping her 😖 LV needs to do better.
I want to give you a big hug for your comment!!
@@dialmstyle Are SA allow to accept tips?? I want to tip mine too he's amazing! 🙃
They are not allowed to accept cash...other gifts are ok 👌🏼
I love LV canvas because it's so durable. I am getting fed up with them though regarding how difficult it is to actually purchase from the boutique new designs, canvas or otherwise. For me, it somewhat cheapens the brand seeing them all turn up on Fashionphile shortly after release. Lately I've been drifting to other brands such as Celine.
I agree with you! I do feel too, if you have a few good canvas pieces, that’s all you need. Everything coming from the brand lately is too trendy!! Thanks for your comment! 💕
Canvas is not durable... you just know how to take care of it. I have seen countless ones destroyed 🤣🤣🤣
Whether it's 1% or 2% or zero, it's an insult to the employees :(
Thank you so much!

So true, we are still in a world of hurt, and too many people are unbothered! Thank you for your comment! ❤️
If it weren’t for these CA’s and SA’s how much less would be sold, do they even consider that? Wow. The lack of common sense.
Yes, how would they restock inventory, show the bags, tell the story, ring the bags, box them, etc etc! Thank you!

Pretty much! However, carrying a fake still promotes their logo!
The greed is something else when they can’t pay their people correctly. Even trying to fight unemployment. Terrible. I have all the canvas pieces I need. Maybe all the Louis Vuitton I need. Thanks for talking about this. Take care. Stay safe
Thank you so much 💕 I definitely look at things differently since working there!
Personally, i much prefer buying pre-owned pieces and vintage LV, the pre owned market is full of gems, it seems to me that quality was way better a few decades ago vs now.
I agree. Everything was made better in the 80’s and 90’s.

That's crazy that people would use government assistant cards anyway and they never should’ve started that from the beginning.
I have seen that while I was working there 😳
Thank you for explaining what is going on with LV.

Thank you for your comment! There’s a huge misconception about LV! Truthfully the good customers made it bearable. I’m glad you enjoyed it!
That is awful that about the attack on the Asian women and elderly. I am half Asian and it hurts to see that. Also thank you for the info on LV. I feel so bad for the people that work there.

I‘m so glad I found your channel, it‘s so interesting to get some of these special insights to LV! (And by now I‘m starting to watch some of your older videos aswell 😁 - could really bingewatch, if I would not have to work 😆)
I’ve allways been kind of suprised, why so many people prefer the canvas so badly 😅.
@@dialmstyle thanks for letting me know
I hate the purchase limitations online. So people are resorting to fashionphile and other pre love websites. Purchase limitations should be higher not everyone lives close to a boutique. I do not resell. I love my client advisor she is awesome. Thank goodness I have her help.
A big reason for that is also to prevent credit card fraud! The scammers will try to buy the whole store! Thanks for commenting!
@@dialmstyle wow no way.
Oh yes, once they find the credit card works, they will try to buy everything. Happens in store, online, and via phone order! Someone stole my card number and bought online!!
I can’t believe I’m just stumbling on your channel now. Thanks for sharing all the info. New subbie!
Thank you so much 💕
I love the Christopher backpack but the logos don't perfectly match. For an expensive backpack, it shouldn't be that way.
This is true it was incredible hard to purchase a piece in canvas for me they are making it hard to obtain
Thank you so much for watching! xoxo
I wouldn’t care either getting paid so kittle
Thank you so much for your support of my community. xoxo
Wait, wouldn’t .25% of $10,000 be $2,500? How is it only $25?
0.25% = 0.25/100
25% = 25/100
Such great info! You’re the BOMB!!!❤️❤️❤️
Thanks sis 😘 you inspire me!!!
I love the “purse peace” 😌
Thank you for commenting 💕
If you dont mind me asking, where are you selling your old LV stuff? I would love to take a look!

Hi Michelle,
Thank you for sharing this enlightening information. I also appreciate you calling out the anti-Asian actions that have surged in this country. Take care and stay safe! 🥰😷💕 Cheers, Lorna
Thank you Lorna! I appreciate you! 💕💕
Thank you for your comment 💕 stay safe too!
@@dialmstyle you are welcome❤
I don't think people realize how LV actually subsidizes other struggling luxury brands owned by LVMH,, including bankrolling the recent acquisition of Tiffany. So it doesn't all funnel straight to executives, it's also shuffled around other parts of the conglomerate.
You are right, and Bernard Arnault is one of the richest men on earth for a reason!
So awful. Thank you for your comments 💕
Thanks Bien, I love your channel too 💕
The hate has to stop!! We're one race : HUMAN race. ❤
❤️❤️❤️
I mean LV jewelry isn’t quality. I’m not trying to be sassy, I love LV & I’m incredibly bougie, but these fashion houses jewelry is a step up from costume jewelry
I agree! Do not buy their fashion jewelry! It’s just costume jewelry and not worth the money! See my video on what not to buy! ❤️
I don't know what happened to the luxury industry, the quality keeps declining and prices keep going up. The brand is abusing it's employees as much as the it's customers. Why do people still keep buying?
I know what you mean, it’s not special anymore! Consumerism makes people feel like we need more! I appreciate your comments! 💕
Those pieces such as Pallas and V tote, they are classified as Canvas :(
xoxo
Thank you for this very informative video. What is your new career since you left Louis Vuitton? Keep up the videos I enjoy watching them. 😌
Thank you so much Anna! I went back to makeup, got my esthetician license, and writing a lesson plan for makeup, image, and self-care for busy women. Kind of like a re-boot for moms. I will bring it to my channel as it develops! xoxo
@@dialmstyle I need this so bad. I'm a single mom 40+ and I've sorta let everything slide lately. Need a reboot for sure.
I don't like the Capucine or Twist at all. Just not my style. For leather, I prefer Epi, but honestly the choices for Epi leather bags are so limited.
Very limited!
So glad you understand! Thanks for your comment! 💕
Thank you for this information on LV and stay safe, it is awful what is happening to the Asian community.❤️
Thank you. I appreciate your comment ❤️
Great content. Thanks for these information my friend. So sad to even hear about this Asian hate.🥺
Thank you my friend 💕
When I was younger I bought many canvas pieces because that’s all I could afford. Now I only get higher end pieces because canvas pieces are dime in dozen and there are more knock offs than real pieces on the street.
You are blessed! 💕
That commission is outrageous! And I would also never my a lv watch or jewelry. I can get real diamonds for that.
Exactly. Spend your money wisely! Thanks for watching!
I love my LV canvas pieces and my one and only Capucines MM. But all of my bags are older and, I think better quality. My Capucines is from 2013.
Not being able to preorder is just a bad idea 👎 btw, I didn’t know that SA’s made commissions.
They might as well not make commission at this point! Thanks for watching!
That aside, loved your vid. Thoroughly enjoyed listening to your experiances with the company, will be checking out the rest of your content shortly.

This is nuts .. I have never had a big issue getting a LV bag , I buy in London when I’m there and I have been able to just walk in and walk out with my products.
Thank you so much for your comment! American consumerism is something else, I’ve wondered what it’s like elsewhere!

Please stay safe.
Hi Maria! As someone who likes to sell her stuff, I list the item for what I am willing to part with it for and wait. It depends if you are in a rush or not, but reselling prices are high now, I would! I just heard of the date code...working on it 😉. Thank you for your comments 💕
This is a good story. Thanks for sharing. Feel so sorry about the SA

Thanks for sharing babe always so much info here
Thank you for your support and comments always! 🌹
It’s not just crazy, it’s criminal! I agree with everything you say! Thanks for watching! 💕
I’m all for vintage! Thanks for your comment! 💕💕
I’m appalled by the little or non existence commission associates get at Louis Vuitton. It’s disgraceful from this luxury brand.
Thank you Maria! 💕
Makes me not want to buy anymore on how they treat employees
Thanks for sharing about the Asian hate... not a lot of you tuber talks about it... they just try to avoid hot sensitive topic

Hi Rachel, yes, they are CA’s. It’s ok to have more than one. Both do not get much commission at all!
@@dialmstyle they don’t?! Whyyyy, that’s so terrible. I hate when luxury brands and billion dollar corporations can’t compensate their hard working employees properly 🤬
