That crack in the wall does look a bit like a portal, but the drone logs didn't talk about a portal; they specifically described a "breach." As in, something ripped open, something that shouldn't be. I think there's some kind of energy contained within the Labyrinth and when the irresponsible work teams came in and unintentionally caused a collapse, it broke that containment and the glowing wall is some kind of energy leak, which is responsible for all of the strange unnatural color. The tunnel you found is probably the entrance to the labyrinth that Beatrix found, and when it collapsed, other parts of the structure were damaged as well, causing the breach behind the Flutter Gordo.
The logs mentioned that the island has always been this way so it wouldn't make sense that the breach is causing the color (I could be wrong about the log saying that)

Maybe it's just related to how Starlight Strand is split down the middle, since that's where the Breach is, or maybe it has other effects elsewhere. Ogden definitely mentioned how it had been tampered with. I think that the Prisma Waves phenomenon is responsible for the color and it was distorted or thrown out of balance by the Breach.
was totally coming to post something along these lines. I think he's onto something when he was in the tunnel and as you said with the collapse perhaps the energy built up and caused the rift above.
@@Odeofodium I think it was already naturally colorful, but it's been twisted or distorted in some way, almost as if it's out of balance. Ogden described how the flora has clearly been tampered with in some way by people, but how he also doesn't think it was the ancients' fault, or at the very least, not their intention. I think there's a decent chance that they accidentally discovered something that would alter the energy in the area, thought it was dangerous, and locked it in the labyrinth. Then GG and the other people who came to investigate accidentally broke the seal and let it out.
"I don't know if i need it but i'll grab it while it's here" is probably the single best piece of advice for this game. better to stock up when you don't need it, than to look for it last second
Alright I figured out a simple fix, very similar to how you'd do it in the first game! I simply clicked "Sleep until Morning" twice, so over a full in-game 24 hours passed (I made sure my ranch was stocked up on food so no angry slimes) and lo and behold, BOb was in my comms! I'm glad it was fixable and so if anyone else is facing any similar issues, your safest bet is just going into mini-hibernation.
Talking about the lore I have the crazy theory that the adventurer is Thora's and Hobson's son/daughter from the future and some how the prism made them time travel. That's why many of the logs say that they've ruined rainbow island in some way, but also say they can't let it happen again, also considering that the state in which we see the island during gameplay is just as they describe it when they first got there (no industry taking advantage of it, and with no sign of being at the edge of collapsing). Maybe because they ruined it but then time traveled back in time. This would also explain why in many of the logs they say they got a second chance, and in one of them they specifically say that the breach of the labyrinth in starlight strand is smaller than the first time they found it. Because it got bigger over time. There's also the log that says that the adventurer as a child read about a famous slime rancher legend, this might as well be Beatrix herself, which would explain why they know so much about her adventures from the note in the boat, and why they ask her to come to rainbow island. Plus, they could have actually destroyed the portal at the end of the glass desert so Beatrix never travelled through the cosmos and stayed in the far range so she can help them fix rainbow island. They also say in one log that their parents sold "the ranch", which means their parents where slime ranchers, just like Thora and Hobson. Finally, in almost all the logs they talk about time, their past, far range's past, and the future. This may not add up with the log that says that the adventurer refused to continue their parents' legacy, but most of the logs do add up.

Thora did mention in a previous conversation that Bea should write a book about her adventures across the Far Far Range, so its possible that with some time travelly stuff, Bea's mom gave her the book written by her future self to read while she was wading in the tide pools. They are not random, they are fixed. As best as I can tell the random thing is the Strange Diamonds, they are either 1 or 2 of them at a time on the map and there are many possible locations.
If you go to that small lake on top of the beach cave, where you find the oil and puddle slimes, that cave can have diamonds. I found mine mostly there, while farming sand and oil.

I've already collected all of them they are the same for anyone but there is a bug that doesn't let me upgrade further if you get multiple at once that's why your hearts cant be upgraded.

Something tells me that the closed off portal underground is the entrance to the labyrinth and the crack is the exit, explaining why color is going in through one, and color is coming out of the other. It would also explain why the crack cant be entered. Its because it is not an entrance, it is an exit.
And it could be an entrance into the gray labyrinth what if it’s like a white hole and a black hole the white is the crack that is illusion color, and the black hole is the one taking it in and is caved in

The crack in the wall is like a breach between the labyrinth and the island and is spilling out the energy being absorbed by the underground passage.
Maybe the labyrinth is drawing energy from the island and when the crack started to spill the energy back out it, the island randomly absorbed it causing the random fluctuation of colors.

The drones seem to have numbers on the wings which might correspond to some sort of chronological order that might help with the story telling? They might all be the same number I'm not sure.
The pods are not random and the rewards you get from the people are based on requirements like finding certain things or upgrades or reading certain logs or talking to certain people first
Z, you walked right past what could be the ‘proper’ entrance, there is another engraved archway right beside the Labyrinth Hole, but it is covered by an engraved stone. Now, this could just be a wall, but I think it’s the ‘proper’ entrance because it just is normal. The other (main rift) could’ve been the original entrance, but then something caused the rift, meaning the secondary entrance had to become the primary one, also, looking at the debris surrounding the rift at the Labyrinth Entrance, it seems that someone or something tried to blockade it in the past, but the rift was opened again, perhaps a by- product of what seems to have happened below. Now, we see what was the original entrance covered almost entirely by debris, but the secondary entrance is still intact. This indicates one of two things: 1.) the secondary entrance was just not affected by the re-opening of the rift- this could be true, considering it’s distance from the rift and debris. Or, the one I prefer to see as potentially canon; 2.) the second entrance is a later design and is reinforced, as such. This is what I prefer as it suggests that either the character we’re reading about in the Drone Archives is the one to build the door using their own experience, or; another, older entity/ society built it after experiencing whatever the rift and “Breach” caused.
im sure there'll be a lot of comments along these lines or correcting what not, but i feel like both the rift crack and the tunnel door are entrances/exits to the labyrinth, having the tunnel sucking in the rainbow i feel the rift was the exit, and it's cycling through slowly, and well the rift isn't entirely sealed and it's flowing out slowly i can only assume that a group of adventurers (one taking it seriously) ventured in, either came across an unexpected force and had to leave hastily, or caused a disruption within the labyrinth and released the mosaic gordo of rainbows onto the islands, sealing it soon after though i feel like that's pretty easy to come to the conclusion of so maybe it's something completely different, who knows leaning more into time travel though, (i don't remember enough on the first game to talk too much but) time travel though not actually implemented is at least, not implied but time period differences are at least embraced in the last game, especially with the,,,whichever slimes had the lil walrus lookin faces, saber slimes? the big ol fangy dudes, that was more prehistorically themed, so sr2 leaning into the time travel aspect isn't entirely out of the blue this was probably all at least kind of obvious? it's 1:30am and my brain don't work im gonna spend way too much time trying to (wrongly) decipher this lore JDNSJ

The breach definitely doesn't link to the labyrinth. I'm about 90% positive that the collapse hole is the door to it. The drones said that the person had to 'explore the structure' meaning that the ruins you're in are likely it. The also said they had to close the door behind them so no one else could ever get in there, hence the collapse.
I think the tunnel you found is the breach they're talking about and the massive crack in the wall is something that made the island rainbow colored. Another thing I think is that the crack in the wall is man made by the people that where on the island to bring color to the island to combat the breach that was taking the colors away. (Sorry for spelling missteaks English isn't my native language) (I'm Dutch)

Hey, Z. Another spot to look. There's a rare chance that a random diamond will spawn in Rainbow Fields. If you go to the hole that was hidden by the Cotton Gordo sometimes there's one inside there. Or jellystone. Sometimes nothing. :(
My theory is that the collapsed rocks are blocking a big hall thats leading to the rift as the energy accumulates and goes all to that rift which just spews the exses energy
strange diamonds can randomly spawn in any spot where u can mine will also note that ppl have made maps where all treasure orbs are at now as well as what is needed to get to them as well as what each one has
if the drone log is alking about a portal, then it never specified if that portal was projecting stuff onto the island, or absorbing it up, so it could be either one
Ok I'm not familiar with the slime rancher mechanics but could you use the uh whichever of the Gordos or slimes that blow up to get through that collapsed doorway?
I don't know if I encountered a bug or what but just toss out a bunch of roostros and every kind of hen into the arches area and you'll breed way more chickens than any coop.
You have to go to pop the Rock Gordo!!! There's an upgrade for the jetpack that you MUST HAVE... And by the way... Bob called me on day 48 or 49 or so (I don't remember exactly)
My theory is that that rock tunnel leads to the other side of the hole in the flutter gordo cave and probably connects in some way and that maybe you can break it somehow and open the wall to connect it to the other side and maybe get through that portal in the crack in the wall. and teleport somewhere
The way the upgrades are coded cause this bug. Basically, when you buy a upgrade the game goes "ok cool, time to lock this upgrade till the player gets the next upgrade part", but the problem with that is, it doesnt take into account what happens when you collect multiple upgrade parts before actually upgrading. Therefore, when you buy the upgrade, the game forgets about your other one(s) and lock the upgrade, even though you have the parts required at hand. stupid bug really :/ All they need is a if check to se if the player has extra parts, if they do, dont lock the upgrade.
@@KettleTea_ a Demo is a way to Show people what the game is about while an early access is a game that's still in developement where the devs think that people are willing to buy the game even though it isn't completed yet. A demo is usually free but very limited while you pay the full asking price for the early access and see it's development update by update. I hope this clears things up
In the full version there should be some new slime that eats meat but the meat isn’t chickens it’s fish and it’s favorite food is rainbow trout cuz u know rainbow island
I believe it could be a portal but it also couldn’t, devs already said there will be new slime and new areas to explore, both ends of the map could lead to new map expansion in the future considering there is 100 percent going to be map expansions but it could also be just that
BTW... the makers told us at release that the pre-release doesn't have the complete story and may not have all the areas open. So... the portal may not be open yet.
I did get bob when i opend 30 tresure pods and the heart modul upgrade is a nown bug in the games if you get the next upgrade whitout using the upgrading the previus one then you dont get it

Hey, Z. Another spot to look. There's a rare chance that a random diamond will spawn in Rainbow Fields. If you go to the hole that was hidden by the Cotton Gordo sometimes there's one inside there. Or jellystone. Sometimes nothing. :(
My theory is that the collapsed rocks are blocking a big hall thats leading to the rift as the energy accumulates and goes all to that rift which just spews the exses energy

if the drone log is alking about a portal, then it never specified if that portal was projecting stuff onto the island, or absorbing it up, so it could be either one
I found a strange diamond that respawns where the phosphor Gordo was. Go all the way back and it was by where the treasure cracker was

Ok I'm not familiar with the slime rancher mechanics but could you use the uh whichever of the Gordos or slimes that blow up to get through that collapsed doorway?
I don't know if I encountered a bug or what but just toss out a bunch of roostros and every kind of hen into the arches area and you'll breed way more chickens than any coop.
There's still a rock gordo left somewhere I think.

By the way Z, the slime statues to open the doors have eye colours which resemble the colour of the slime
maybe the logs are from Thora kid they want to have that somehow went back in time because clearly the person in the logs are from the past or future

My theory is that that rock tunnel leads to the other side of the hole in the flutter gordo cave and probably connects in some way and that maybe you can break it somehow and open the wall to connect it to the other side and maybe get through that portal in the crack in the wall. and teleport somewhere
No most of the pods are set but some seem to be random, like the hunter plort one gave me a decoration iteam.

The devs mentioned a Bug where you use all the upgrade Chips for one upgrade
The way the upgrades are coded cause this bug. Basically, when you buy a upgrade the game goes "ok cool, time to lock this upgrade till the player gets the next upgrade part", but the problem with that is, it doesnt take into account what happens when you collect multiple upgrade parts before actually upgrading. Therefore, when you buy the upgrade, the game forgets about your other one(s) and lock the upgrade, even though you have the parts required at hand.

All they need is a if check to se if the player has extra parts, if they do, dont lock the upgrade.

@@KettleTea_ a Demo is a way to Show people what the game is about while an early access is a game that's still in developement where the devs think that people are willing to buy the game even though it isn't completed yet. A demo is usually free but very limited while you pay the full asking price for the early access and see it's development update by update.

I think that Portal thing was their fix and it destabilized, causing it to collapse.

Because he has the real Teleportals now he just places one at the ranch and another wherever he wants that portal to take him

In the full version there should be some new slime that eats meat but the meat isn’t chickens it’s fish and it’s favorite food is rainbow trout cuz u know rainbow island
I believe it could be a portal but it also couldn’t, devs already said there will be new slime and new areas to explore, both ends of the map could lead to new map expansion in the future considering there is 100 percent going to be map expansions but it could also be just that

BTW... the makers told us at release that the pre-release doesn't have the complete story and may not have all the areas open. So... the portal may not be open yet.
The z pods are not random, but the phone-call gifts might be random.
