I recently purchased one of these at a local shop, it has quickly became my favorite knife. Just light strop had the blade hair splitting sharp, and the overall build quality is excellent. This is truly a unique knife design, now I just have to get the full sized serrated model with the Glass breaker.
I just got mine and first I'll say the design and quality out the box were amazing. The compact is $150 and just for the design and quality it's worth the price even the standard should cost $150 AND I SAY THAT BECAUSR OF THE D2 STEEL. I love D2 do not get me wrong and i honestly never had a issue with it rusting or anything of that nature... but this model especially the compact rusted on me over night for absolutely no reason at all. I never complaine about rust I'm a roofer and I know how to treat rust and take it off tools and what can cause it. I just got this knife to be a church hang out karambit not to take to work whatsoever I have my fox 599 for that but the next morning the entire blade was rusted and I was super shocked and confused.... I don't know if mine batch had more chromium in the steel but its rusted fast.... I think they need to look into better steels like 154CM would be great for this or NILOX steel is a step above D2 with more stainless properties.. I hope someone from CRKT see this and cam change this. There quality is there but their steel is lacking. This price they should at least use s30v I wouldnt mind s30v but D2 especially if your not going to heat treat it correctly should stay with your under $100 catalog and start getting better steel for this price. Dont act like it's hard because it's not I know a company your size can easily change the steel used for these models. D2 for a compact version makes no sense... use nilox or s30v @CRKT
I have two (2) of the first gen. (Blk/Tan) In my right back pocket EVERYDAY. Wearing wranglers, the tag conceals the belt clip, it's a comfort to know that even in an area that I don't have a "piece", I can have it in-hand with only a pinch of thumb and index finger, while my hand is still behind me, slip my finger in and have knuckle support for a punch. If things get worse, I get "Dicey" I don't talk about it ( unless someone else brings up a question about self-defense), I don't show it off, However I do know I'm able to defend/repel any aggressive person... It's well worth it... 1: Solid design. 2: No springs to replace. 3: Low profile/size/weight. If anything, a little stone work just to keep sharp. DEFINITELY recommend!!! Marckaus.
I've owned 2 PROVOKES a cerekotex and a grivery. Had the same problem with both of them after cleaning and oiling they would seize up and not want to open or close. This wouldn't happen all the time and usually could work through it. But I couldnt trust it. So they are no longer carried. They USED to be my favorite knives hands down and I've owned a LOT of knives. Now you couldnt pay me to carry one. I tried disassembling it only made things worse.
I have a few knives, and the CRKT Provoke Compact is my favorite. The smaller form factor fits my hand better. The open action is amazing. Unopened in your hand it still provides striking points. I wish it came in black. But this is definitely a knife to have.
The hard way is the only effective way. Trainers are a waste of time and money because you know it's forgiving. You learn to respect a live edge real quickly and to pay close attention to where your blade is and what it's going to do next. especially on Balisongs and karambits. The knife demands newbie blood 😅 It's just part of the hobby. Im also a very irresponsible and reckless person tho so maybe don't listen to me 😂

It’s also my favorite and totally legal because it’s kinetic mechanism. 😎👍
So its 1/2 inch shorter blade?
No the blade is like 0.2 inches shorter

Marckaus.
Picked it up today from my trusty knife shop. Exactly same as this one.
Love it and thank's Columbia River.
@CRKT please publish torque sequence / assembly instructions for the Provokes.
Thinner and less bulky is always good!! More more.

I need one of these. But I’m a Minimalist line addict so those are coming first
