I have not commented on this project because I knew it would be the same comments over and over -- wow! great job. I love this!! -- but now that it is completed I can comment. Holy crap!! That is an amazing story!! I can see myself there with my Nikon camera in hand. Saying "Great job!!" is just somehow not enough. Truly amazing.
It may not pertain to trains but again there was so much to learn about scenery! Is that not what we want to learn about? I call it realistic modeling taking the toy look away. You show us the way to get there with the knowledge and tools. Thanks Boomer! The tribute to your brother is a work of art.
There is something to be learned from all types of modeling. I took away things from this series and the HMS Hood build that I can use on my model railroad.
Magnificent. Having made a few very short videos I can appreciate how much time you also spend capturing and showing the process of your modelling. Well done and thankyou. Peter.
Stunning, thank you for bringing me along. As a modeler and hobby enthusiast myself I appreciated the level of detail in your explanations. Hope to see another shadow box adventure soon! Cheers from London, Ontario!
Boomer, it’s amazing, beautiful, tranquil, etc. knowing the frame is only 11” but it looks like the Silver Creek goes on for miles. So cool how you made this happen, your like a special effects professional. THANK YOU FOR SHARING THIS BUILD WITH US. Ron
Thank you for showing this beautiful piece of art, from beginning to end, I certainly enjoyed the journey and learnt an amazing amount of new things ..... thanks again...
I love it Boomer, you've put another one out of the park! Thanks for the inspiration the sharing of your techniques and the peek into your mind. It has been a blast watching this shadowbox develop into a beautiful piece of BC!
Wondering if you would guide me regarding black washing (weathering) of a newly built 1977 Fundimensions C-3PO kit. Do you have an Acrylic, not oil “go to” black wash technique that you might use? If so, do you use a drop of dish wash detergent to help release the static cling of the paint over the surface. Would like it to flow real smoothly along the surface. I tried using several techniques, but did not feel any was worthy to apply to the model as of yet. The model has been can spray painted with Rustoleum's Metallic Gold paint. I want to be able to black wash some of the crevices and/or seams found on the 10” model.
This was a magnificent series - a master class in diorama building. I've enjoyed watching a lot of your videos so far and have learned something useful in each one, but this series just did it for me. I've had a love affair with dioramas since I saw my first museum ones (Los Angeles Museum of Natural History) when I was seven years old - and promptly went home and painted up my Marx Civil War soldiers and made a scene in a shoe box. I've been making small table top dioramas since 2005, but recently I've wanted to go to the shadow box style. Your description of them as "tactile theatre" is brilliant. Thanks for this series - it really is like attending a class and you're a terrific teacher.
Thank you for taking the time to share your experiences with the Diorama. I grew up building them, and then sort of segwayed into model railroading, I still love to build dioramas when I find the time and I hope you pursue it more as well because it is a beautiful art form. Cheers ~ Boomer.
I enjoyed this series and really learned a lot that I have already applied in my modeling. I look forward to your continuing series on your shelf layout. Thanks again for sharing your techniques and talent.
Amazing work Boomer, what a beautiful piece of Canada you've recreated, in a box, Superb. A 3d memory to cherish, for your bro too. All the best. Brian @ The Angels
A super enjoyable treat. I am seriously tempted. You do inspire, hopefully you're aware of that. And I am so glad you managed to build up a quality YT community by sharing your artistry and experience with us on your wonderful channel. It feels like having a real, true friend. Thank you.
Bravo Boomer ! It’s a beauty… Light is life, and the river road will be fantastic 😉 I used to be stone masson, a little sculptor too, and it’s incredible how the things we don’t see, in a project, increase the project in itself.. Excuse for my restrictive language, I’m a french boomer.
So inspiring and we thank you for sharing. all methods can be used on model railroad as Well. So feel free to share, when you build something different again. Will definitely watch as always.😊
I've been thinking abut building something similar to yours, but I would leave three openings and a closed back cube so I can see the diorama from three different sides.
Great vidio, giving me some ideas for some of my old N scale trains. Some track, add loco and a caboose that you can still run and shadow box the whole thing, hummmmm. Thanks for the morning coffee...
Beautiful work! Although I probably will not build a diorama, (already have too many projects) I have learned numerous things from this series that I intend to apply to my model railroad. Thank you for sharing your techniques and thought processes.
Wow. Wow trying too find the words for your shadow box ..so real looking...a great artist for sure...I subscribed a while back really enjoy your videos... your so laid back..One question have you ever built a ho scale bridge from scratch..😊
Great job boomer.. I really enjoyed this series,it gave me a lot of inspiration on modeling trees and the landscape that goes with it,perhaps you can come up with another similar series in the distant future maybe.
Absolutely amazing, Boomer! This is a conversation piece in your home that no matter how many times someone views it, it's never enough! Have you ever considered a small speaker with the rain and thunder sound playing low in the background? Something like you had playing in the background of the video. That sound just pulls the viewer right into the forrest.
Ii has been an inspiring series, I think IF I were to have a go the only thing I might do differently is use a diffuse LED panel behind the background images to illuminate the background more but that's just down to the setting. Fantastic work through every episode though a real masterclass
Great work! The wilderness has always been my “happy place”, especially camping & hiking. I haven’t learned to fly fish (yet) - it is still on the “bucket list”! Curious, what would a museum typically pay to have a shadow box of that size done under contract? I’m sure it took a lot of hours to complete (plus all your video editing time).
Really enjoyed this build and how the ideas and concepts lend themselves to our model railroad projects as well. Any thought to adding the running creek sound effects to the diorama?
Wow ! That was fun. Thanks, I have a better idea of the possibilities of separate scenes along my rail line. I also have been exposed to another hobby opportunity. Never too old to learn eh .. Cheers.
Dear Boomer, absolutely phenomenal 3d depiction of your personal experience at Silver Creek. Don’t care for the frame that much, think the lines take away a bit of the perspective, but heck you told us it was a ‘morning star’ find. Cheerio
Wish I would have had you for an art teacher in junior high school, all I remember is ”Just scratch a bunch of pencil lines and erase what doesn’t look right!”! 🤣✌️🫡
I just bought a new dual action airbrush. I could not find the older one I liked so I bought the (Made in U.S.A.) "Paasche Talon." I have used Paasche before and they are very good and reliable for the money.
Boomer, i've been meaning to ask this question for sometime. I noticed that some of the reference photos you have in the background while woring, have vertical lines on them. What are they for? AND...have a fantastic time off this summer. Looking forward to ore additions to River Road when you return
Thank you so much. Inspirational.
Wow! Thank You!😁
Amazing work!!
Thank you. Every modeler should try at least one shadow box.😁
@@boomerdiorama It's really interesting
Thanks
Thank you Peter!
Those flat-backed trees on the right, really add the illusion of depth to the forest. Perfect !
It worked out good. Thank you.
A 3-D painting that literally pulls the viewer in. Quite remarkable.
Thank you!
Spectacular.
Thank you.

I loved this series. There are so many aspects that transfer over to model railroading. Don't hesitate to fo another when you are so inspired.
Thank you Don. Much appreciated. Cheers ~ Boomer.😉
I've been watching for two years now. I enjoy your channel.
Awesome! Thank you!
I really enjoyed this series and it was the most relaxed and confident that I’ve ever seen you, which made even more special.
It was a diorama that I needed to build for a long time.😁
It may not pertain to trains but again there was so much to learn about scenery! Is that not what we want to learn about? I call it realistic modeling taking the toy look away. You show us the way to get there with the knowledge and tools. Thanks Boomer! The tribute to your brother is a work of art.
Awesome build. No trains? No problem. You really hooked me on the 1970's Zenith 📺 😆
. . . and RCA Victor . . . ;-)
One word STUNNING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

There is something to be learned from all types of modeling. I took away things from this series and the HMS Hood build that I can use on my model railroad.

Yes. Mostly "O" Scale though. I I ever get around to it. I have plans down the road after section three to build an HO Swing Bridge. Cheers.
Amazing work!
Thank you. It was alot of work but well worth it now. It looks cool. 😁
Amazing, ..I’m just trying to do something similar as you have really made me fall in love with modelling, I’m a boomer to but never to late to learn
Thanks for sharing! Go for it! It's never too late to pick up the hobby and grow exponentially with it. Cheers ~ Boomer.
Thank you Boomer for this wonderful Diorama!
Looking forward to what more you have in store for us.
In the meantime have a nice Summer
Thank You ~ Will do.😁

Stunning results, and a great little series.
Many thanks!

Have you ever considered a small speaker with the rain and thunder sound playing low in the background? Something like you had playing in the background of the video.
That sound just pulls the viewer right into the forrest.
I did think about that. Would have to use an MP3 player or something.
Ii has been an inspiring series, I think IF I were to have a go the only thing I might do differently is use a diffuse LED panel behind the background images to illuminate the background more but that's just down to the setting. Fantastic work through every episode though a real masterclass
It doesn't look like it does in the video. The back ground looks great live.
What can one say Boomer. Awesome , superb, fantastic, inspirational, etc, etc, etc...
Absolutely well done sir 👍 👏

Well, I could but then how often would I turn it on in exchange for what the cost and time would be. I already blew the budget on this one . . .
Wow ! That was fun. Thanks, I have a better idea of the possibilities of separate scenes along my rail line. I also have been exposed to another hobby opportunity. Never too old to learn eh .. Cheers.

Wow…just wow! Did you paint the backdrop? Incredible work.
Yes! Thank you!
