If Heisman is supposed to go to the best "football player," then CMC's 2nd place finish was one of the biggest snubs in the award's history. There IS reverse bias when it comes to RB's. For that reason, no one predicted his game would translate so spectacularly to the next level, even though all he did in a pro-style college offense was run between the tackles and turn short passes into big plays - the very definition of a modern pro back. My fav highlight: the 76-yard touchdown run against the Cardinals. He turns around to stiff-arm a DB, then realizes the dude can't catch him, so he retracts the stiff-arm and just outruns him. Announcer quote: "You're not gonna catch Christian McCaffery in the open field." When's the last time you heard a statement like that in reference to a white boy?
He's a 1st down machine.I bet he's in the top three in first downs too.Seems like everytime he takes a screen he makes it past that marker anyway he can.
