My favourite people in the boating world. Never a bad episode as they are excellent producers. Best of luck on the hunt for your next home on the water. X
So glad you made it back safely! ✈️ On to the next adventure! Sorry the boat shopping fizzled out in Oz but here’s to new keels and new deals here at home! 🥂 And a big thank you to Dr. FUNNY BONE 😂 for taking such great care of Miss Megan! Happy trails to all! 😊
Living on the boat right now with little wifi to watch videos, but I send my wishes for a quick and effective treatment so you can return to the life we love. Currently in Martinique to rebuild our watermaker S/Y L’Acadienne
Megan, I wanted to tell you that your statement about skin cancer not healing got me to go to the doctor and I discovered my skin cancer. Thank you from the bottom of my heart! Kathryn
OMG kids! Enough already with so many issues in your life! Nice people like you really should be enjoying every moment until you can’t! Hoping you have better luck in your boat search. I will be keeping my fingers crossed!
I was stage three melanoma 27 tumors ranging from the size of a golf ball to a pencil head. I was diagnosed in 04 still live in and Fighting just had my prostate removed due to cancer !
I think it's great having you in Australia, sorry if you have to leave, love it if you stayed. We live on the Sunshine Coast and our boat is moored at Manly Qld, let us know if there is anything you need if you come back! Please come back. Hope you find your boat soon xo
As someone who is about to return to the sea and has had more than a few derm sessions from sun damage I sure get the concerns. Your strength is awesome. I’m specifically trying to outfit with that concern in mind. And oh yes, boat sellers please, just make up your mind and give me a price, not that hard
Meg and Nik, Daily sun screen and derm visits 3 times a year helps everything. Your videos are great. Nik, your knowledge and wisdom on catamaran purchases has put another light into my upcoming 3rd cat purchase in 35 years. OMG, the interview w/young barnacles was over the top for me. I was always on the fence with open stern helms and Daggar boards ?? But since my new used cat will be on the performance side it seems I'm not totally against the Idea. Can"t wait to see what your looking at next. Speedy recovery Meg. Az / SOC
Been there, still there. Numerous surgeries, but I’m still living the dream. Thank God. I was told when I had my liver transplant the medication would make me very susceptible to skin cancer and I would need to take extraordinary precautions due to the meds. I have been out doors my entire life and we now own a farm which I love to roam and work on (well I personally don’t do the heavy work). You hang in there and as always you do you and don’t let this get you down one little bit. It’s very frustrating and a very big nuisance, but I always remember what my transplant surgeon said, you get out there and live your life to the fullest. No regrets. You and your hubby do you. I’m sorry you have to deal with this, but pls don’t let it slow you down. You all are young and can always look back and say wow we did that. Really enjoy the channel and we really appreciate you all sharing your experiences and travels. We are praying you find “that boat” real soon. Take care and may God Bless and keep you.
Wow, life really comes at you guys from every side. Love your videos. Nice to see that you are back in Oregon. I am just across the river in the couve! I hope the skin cancer stays away. Thank you for sharing your life with us, you both have inspired me.
I watch your challenges from the Philippines. I too am no stranger to the C word. I've had 2 Basil cells removed, one from each eye, over the years and now I have another one under my left eye. I've also had Lymphoma, stage 4 & mutatating, back in early 2000's. That went into remission but 2 years later it came back. Again I had chemotherapy and I've been enjoying full remission ever since, but I get scanned every year or two. I'll never be cancer free, because it could always come back on me according to my Oncologist. I whish you all my best and continue to be vigilant to your health. Good videos, so keep it coming. Lol
Maybe a couple of months ago, I noticed a "spot" on my face. As a scuba diver, I've spent a lot of time in the sun...not always protected. It's been weighing on my mind, but of course, it's not as easy or inexpensive in the States as it is in Australia. I've been in semi-denial about it for a while, but your video has motivated me to stop ignoring it and to go get it checked out. Asap. Love your channel! Hope to see you back on your own boat soon!
Hoping for speedy recovery Meghan. Cancer took away my father in 2021. He fought for three years with Radiation and then surgery and finally immunotherapy against Cancer. My prayers 🙏
At least you're having or had your surgery in Australia, we've some of the best surgeons in the world. Hopefully it turns out to benign, hoping you have a speedy and full recovery
So relieved to hear that was benign. I lost a cycling buddy to melanoma at the age of 34. I saw a mole on his back when he was changing his shirt at a race night. I mentioned he should get it checked. He said it was a birth mark and he had always had it. We were racing 5 times a night, a 100 miles on weekends. His funeral was 12 weeks later. He left a wife and 3 children. As we say in Australia, Hooroo. See you next time.
Extremely fortunate you were in a place that had the capacity to deal with such a serious health issue. So happy that it all worked out, . . . I had a suspicion you would have to come back to N.A. to find your next boat. Bigger market, overall. Wishing you the best and looking forward to seeing what eventually works best for you. Quite the adventure. Never thought boat shopping could be so strenuous and demanding.
Sending love from halfway across the world. And a reminder I should probably get a questionable couple skin spots checked out! Wishing you a speedy recovery!!
Megan, those shades at 4:00…I don’t see them again in the rest of the soirée! They make such an awesome fashion statement. Bold, brassy, brazen, beyond. Welcome back to Oregon both of you. This seems to be a particularly cool, if not cold, spring here. That leads me to wonder if summer will be particularly hot and dry. Ya know, Yin and Yang. Thanks for the Slipins link as I too have BCC.
Ohh how I know that so well. I hide from the beaming rays as much as possible. But I can't stay away from it. It's not fair. I always have a couple of bottles of PDQ herbals ready for the little bastards and in-between true science anti aging cream. 25 years fighting skin cancer. So far I've managed to stay away from the knife. But I still check in with the doc. Don't like that knife! I still had to treat it with PDQ herbals later. You have to be aggressive with it. I've had 100's. Otherwise half of me would be cut out. Basil carrot patches. I treat every spot I question ASAP. I can send pictures to you. Stay on it. Cover up as much as possible. But get out and live! Can't wait to see that new boat! Captain Pauly
Another awesome video! Glad they fixed you right up Megan! In my industry Captains get skin cancer on their LEFT arm, copilots on their right! Cockpit windows can act like a magnifying glass! Thanks for the tip on the body suits that keep most of your body safe from too much sun! CHEERS!
I know the pain. I’m a Basal and squamous magnet. (Redhead) Glad the pathology was negative (good). All we can do is slather on the spf50, keep covered, or hide from the sun. Glad you were proactive and got it taken care of.
The lucky country. My heart tugs for every beach. So gorgeous seeing every wave you shared. Once imbedded into your bones, those lands are a permanent part of you.
@@TheOKellys Hi, (perhaps idea for a vid) Seeing a lot of vids lately displaying the inadequacy of “captains” (term used very loosely) that seemingly have no idea about basic maritime rules, incl right of way, damaging property when docking, dragging, etc. Some of these vids are from new cruisers, no doubt got the bug, believe they can do it on YT income. Now where would they get that idea? In Aus, similar to a driver's license, we have to do a course to earn a recreational skippers ticket. It seems this isn’t the case in a lot of countries, incl the states, anyone can simply buy a boat, jump in with no idea, or insurance, play demo derby. So what if this damage is caused to your boat (home), big hole ripped down the side, no insurance, because that’s also not mandatory, & they can simply declare bankruptcy.
Glad u r watching your skin for cancer…a serious matter! Hope your boat search is successful. We had another snowstorm in mid Canada last 2 days with 5-6 feet banks…24 hours later snowblower out…temp 0 Celsius today & snow melting on driveway 😫 We r longing for real spring weather ❤️🇨🇦
I wish you speed recovery and good luck about your health problem. About boat selling, i don’t understand nothing, there are so many boats sleeping all year in Marinas, costing maintenance, boat place and devaluation … and there are not to sale … A lot of boat owners are mad and should liquidate these assets as quick as possible …Unbelievable….
Wishing you a complete recovery. I also had BC very near my eye on my temple. I had MOHS surgery in Calgary AB in 2017. I live in the sun here in Mexico, I noticed a very tiny red spot at the same area recently, had a biopsy, and it was completely clear 😊 MOHS is the best treatment for skin cancer!
I hope you continue to recover. My thoughts and prayer are with you. I love your channel. I learn more useful things here than any other channel. I have finally picked up on what you have have. The market for used cats is softening. Thank you for that knowledge.
Megan, so glad your skin cancer has been removed 😊. I am a firm believer in early detection. I have had my share of melanoma and my first basil cell a couple of years ago. Best of luck on your boat search. Hopefully you will find one soon!!🙏🏻❤️ Take care!
I am so glad that you were able to take care of your skin cancer. I absolutely love ❤️ you outlook on life and your positive attitude. Don’t ever change.
Glad all went well, having lived a life of sailing and boating, now in my 60’s, the skin cancer is a real issue. My wife and I have been there and done that and now get regular 6 month checks. Still boating but always wear spf 30 and cover up now.
Once again another fantastic show!!!!! You guys are no longer RUclipsrs you are producers of the the O'Kelly's show. The video production, commentary, the music and the stories are first rate! I sooooooo much look forward to tuning in when I get my notification. Your show always delivers and lifts me up. Thank you and good on ya mates, P.S. so glad that you are doing well my lovely and I truly hope you find the the boat you are looking for. I wish you fair winds and calm seas - 😀🤩🤕✌🤙👍
Hi guys. Sorry to hear you had another BCC but glad you were in Oz to have easily and rapidly treated. Just one point - you said it was “benign” which is the term for non cancer. While BCCs are the least nasty cancers cause they only spread locally (and not metastasise) untreated the destroy anything so can be nasty… I presume this was just loose use of a medical term as clearly you know it is a cancer… That may confuse some of you viewers and think their bccs are not cancer but hope it slipped by without being noticed! Clearly keep up regularly checks on each other to monitor your skin spots monthly and annual checks with a skin doctor is good…. We sailors are all at risk and early detection is the key- well spotted!
Best Wishes for a full recovery. y father was a real Sun Worshipper, I saw two Scottish guys get burned so badly after falling asleep on a Spanish Veach they were both hospitalised, so I have been very careful ever since. Dad got skin Cancer on the top of his head, and to combat the itching, a Nurse in the Care Home he was in, applied Sudacrem to it, I think Daily, and the Sudacrem didnt just stop the itching, it Shrank the Cancer, almost to the point of it disappearing. Unfortunately dad had Vascular Dementia (pretty sure caused by the Statins he had been prescribed Ed which also gave him type 2 diabetes along with severe muscle damage), and passed away before he was 100% clear of the skin Cancer, though it was still heading in the right direction. Very best wishes and Fair Winds. Bob. 👍⛵️✨️✨️✨️
I am a boat broker and I have owned a charter company in the Caribbean - facts - most people that buy boats are going through some sort of emotional crisis or have psychological problems - of course you guys are the exception to the rule😶
Thank you so much for keeping us abreast of your surgery. That python was real something. Good to see you back safely and wish you both the best with another purchase. Please stay out of the sun and Happy sailing.
I'm putting this here rather than the newer video, but Megan, La Roche Posay's Anthelios Mineral 50 Sunscreen is really good. My dad had skin cancer on his face, and he switched to LRP products. I use it too. It's super light, tinted, so you don't need to wear anything else on your skin. Big hug.
Get use to it. I’ve had over 10 Mohs surgeries. Lately it’s been every 3 months. Most of the damage you are experiencing now is sun damage from years back. However, limited sun exposure and sunscreen should help you in the future. Seeing the dermatologist on a regular basis (like every 3 months) is very important.
Thank you so much - I kind of watch these in anonymity (Sam Holmes, Old Sea Dog, Beau and Brandy, Wave Rover, etc..). Thankful you had a great result. I know your weather pain in the Northwest as I live near Anacortes WA (Sedro Woolley, East up the Skagit River actually). It's been cold this year again but good. You bring so much positive influence with your video's and I hope you find your new boat soon!! Thanks again.
My family and I are no strangers to the horrid "C" word. We have all had it cut out and my father passed away from it in 2006. I've survived Leukeamia in 2014 so keep up your faith and enjoy life! Hope you guys find a boat soon. From Sydney Australia.
Thank you for sharing this information so people can take care when in outdoors. I have been fighting this myself. Very exposed as a lifeguard on Waikiki beach as a young man. God Bless. The Bear 🐻
Recently had a basalcell carcinoma removed in my face, rather big at that. Although quite benign in nature, it is still quite unsettling, having surgery in the face. I wish you luck, strength and love.
Glad you tried fasting with your treatment. I know what its' done for my health. After a career working outside in the sun and around cancer causing and endocrine disrupting chemicals, I don't have any worries after a few years of detox and constant diet and fasting vigilance. Catch it early !!
Wishing you a speedy recovery.
Cancer sucks. 🙏 John and Diane on Joy here. We are where we met you last here in Hawksnest in Bahama. Got my Mohs removed last year. ❤️
Hi guys, so nice to hear from you. Sorry about your Mohs, so glad you had it taken care of!
I really really sorry for you u will heal
Thanks Mary, it's healing very well!
man - im so glad you got that taken care of so quickly! Wishing you a speedy recovery!!!
Good luck on the continued search. Good luck on your recovery. I just passed my 5th year anniversary for cancer free. I hope to see you here soon.
Congratulations, very happy for you!
Best wishes and a fast sail speedy recovery
Just a bump in the road, glad you caught it early and have just the right partner to getcha through you through it.
Had two removed so far. I'm sure I'll have more as time goes on. Not a big deal as long as you take care of it early.

Bob. 👍⛵️✨️✨️✨️
Wishing you to recover as fast as possible.
Meagan. So sorry to hear about your rematch with cancer. I'll be praying for you. Have you ever read about the SDA health message?
Thank you Jim, haven’t heard of SDA.
Thanks David! I loved seeing that python in the wild.
So glad it was benign and wishing you a speedy recovery. Good luck in the next boat inspection.
Thank you, we need it!
I’m so happy you were able to deal with this
I'm putting this here rather than the newer video, but Megan, La Roche Posay's Anthelios Mineral 50 Sunscreen is really good.
Yeah, I did so much damage in my teenage years. 3 month check ups are probably wise. Thanks for your note.
So happy you are doing great. Hopefully you find a boat home soon.
Thanks Mahlon, it’s good to be back with the family.
Wishing you all the best and a clean bill of health moving forward!
Thank you Bryn!
Welcome to the basel cell cancer club. I have had two surgeries on my nose and one on my chest. Not a fun experience. Get well soon.
Oh Megan! And you're so careful. Wishing you a speedy recovery. Looks like you're eating well though, yum!
Trying! Thanks for the good vibes.
My family and I are no strangers to the horrid "C" word. We have all had it cut out and my father passed away from it in 2006. I've survived Leukeamia in 2014 so keep up your faith and enjoy life! Hope you guys find a boat soon. From Sydney Australia.
Virtual hugs and support going out to you Megan.
Thank you for sharing this information so people can take care when in outdoors. I have been fighting this myself. Very exposed as a lifeguard on Waikiki beach as a young man. God Bless. The Bear 🐻
Thanks Jerry, I cringe thinking about my early sun exposure before I knew better.
Recently had a basalcell carcinoma removed in my face, rather big at that. Although quite benign in nature, it is still quite unsettling, having surgery in the face. I wish you luck, strength and love.
Full health and fair seas. Looking forward to your adventures down under again in your next cat. Best wishes from Melbourne.
Thank you Ian, we miss Australia!
Glad you tried fasting with your treatment. I know what its' done for my health. After a career working outside in the sun and around cancer causing and endocrine disrupting chemicals, I don't have any worries after a few years of detox and constant diet and fasting vigilance. Catch it early !!
