how is adding sand "doing what's right" for the fish? the only benefit would be housing beneficial bacteria which you can do with rocks or biomedia. few fish use and for burrowing but thatd be the only reason he would NEED to add sand
@@babehnya69 yea but this isnt the ocean and in a tank over time it can start to build excess nutrients and detritus build up, unless the maintainence is frequent or there are alot of sand sifters, itll be more harm than good over time
I wouldn't add any sand to it. It would be a detritus trap. Especially for as much waste that that many fish produce. Plus he doesn't have that much mechanical filtration.

Honestly, while this seems like a great project you are creating the equivalent of a thunder dome in this tank. The eels are forced to be out in the open as you haven't given them anywhere to hid and claim as their territory. You've also put rays in there with no digging substrate, and multiple sharks. This many predators in a small tank is a recipe for territorial disputes and injuries, I'd really suggest rehoming some or many of those predators.
That tank in your house could be such a beautiful reef and focal point in your house. But instead it’s an ugly focal point in your house. No hate just saying, and converting that into a reef would be a dope series
a salt pond this big, with a coral sand base and live coral rocks full of schooling fish would look absolutely stunning, You could recreate a reef in this pond
You need more rock work and sand for the fish you have in this tank. Rays will have a better life with sand to hide in. Needs more rock work for the fish to hide so it’s not a fight for the few spots in the tank that’s being taken up already

my faviurite fish in the 6000 is definitely the red emperor that is often a target species of mine, alongside the coral trout which are both very tasty fish, when spearfishing in the north of my home state of Western Australia. It's also one of the first time I personally went spear fishing up north.
The pond is quite boring, it needs more structure and sand. And maybe some sand. The poor eels are just lying on the bottom. There isn’t enough structure for them to go into.

Now that you have an open tank I think you should get a baby grouper and grow It to be a giant one like the one you have in the 6000g pond. A panther grouper would look so good in there!
11 is my answer but I think it would be cool to get a ton of colorful fish and to maybe get an enemy and make a coral reef tank with only coral and an enemies and colorful fish and saltwater catfish they are not aggressive but they have a electric Barb

Add in more rocks and some sand & stones for the floor. The big pond looks too much like a swimming pool and not like a fish tank.
