Rich for the win! I did a swap on a cj7 to a tbi 350 because the same issues. I told my room mate that it could be fixed, he insisted. two weeks later I found the original issue.
Nice video I like seeing the root cause of it and I take many things apart to see why or what happened. Doesn’t always pan out, but you learn something almost every time.
Silmlar issue on my 1999 dodge 3500 van did tune up no fix change few sensers fixed it for 2 mins same thing found two cracked vacumn hoses one heater ac one two the intake 4 buck fix
Fuel filter is normally my first option cat last but it did need everything cleaned and replaced understandable the 6000 miles would have went the same route knowing that. It was probably gas that was bad when he put it in.
I kept getting an evap leak code and kept changing the solenoid until I got smart. Shook the charcoal cannister and it sounded like a maraca. Bits were damaging the solenoid. Changed the cannister and the problem resolved for 7 years now. I can only imagine what the condition of a jeep renegade's cannister could be.
I wouldn't roast you for that Rich. You got it fixed. Good Job.
Thanks, ... for the JEEP content ...

Sometimes it takes the parts cannon to fix the problem.
