She’s reacted similarly in the past when she’s been taken in by a performance, and in her critique after this dance she admitted to being REALLY into it because it reminded her of personal experiences with relationships. Plus, the video vaguely has 3D sound, so if you listen closely with good headphones, the comment comes slightly more from the left, where Shirley is sitting ☺️

And *this* is how storytelling should be incorporated as part of the dance. Too often we see props and stuff as part of the dance that make no sense whatsoever. The sign language was blended so beautifully as part of the dance that it felt that Rose and Gio were not just dancing but portraying characters in a story. But of course...the dance is what gets evaluated. Apart from the brilliant storytelling, the dance was just beautiful. ❤️❤️❤️

The storytelling in a dance is actually noticed by the judges quite a lot, so it’s not just the dancing that is evaluated, but this was an amazing dance anyway, the incredible storytelling elevated it

It's getting hard to pick a favourite dance of theirs now! Couple's choice, tango, Viennese Waltz, Foxtrot - they have all moved me to tears! Fingers crossed we get to see their show dance in the final, it is sure to be spectacular :)

Being married to a member if the deaf community I appreciated this dance at its fullest. Gio is an amazing dancer, but his ego has always put me off him. But this pairing has mellowed him out so much and showing his humble side at its best. I have had a soft spot for Rose ever since it was announced she was in strictly and she hasn't disappointed. This performance was not just a credit to her dancing skills but her craft as she proved how much of an amazing actress she is. The fact that they used BSL in this was just the icing on the cake for me. It just added to the drama.
That's wonderful that you were able to feel a connection with this dance on a personal level, it really was a standout of the night. I think the whole thing about him having an ego has been somewhat misinterpreted. There's a podcast of him speaking with Jamie Laing last year I think, telling his story of how he got into dancing, and honestly, he comes across as confident yet humble, a real nice and strong willed guy. I think its just often the Italian way to be quite confident and self-assured.

The best and most emotional dance of the night. It should have been top of the leader board. Rose and Giovanni deserve more credit as student and teacher for what they are doing and the results they achieve. I think they were undermarked last week as well as this week
This is a kinda cynical take but undermarking now could go in their favour if they have more of a journey storyline later in the series than the ones who were 'always good' 👀👀

I love Giovanni and Rose so much for a number of reasons. In all the series we’ve ever had of this show I have never seen such an authentic, pure, beautifully connected, moving, tender & warm partnership. What elevates this pairing above everyone else is the emotion and passion they bring, it is completely captivating and so pure. What they have you can’t teach. They just have IT. This ability to melt your heart and transport you into their performance that you just want it to continue.
I love Rose she is such a beautiful soul, an intelligent, stunning, sassy and charming young woman and she dances with so much grace, elegance and confidence. It is so inspiring watching her dance and proving you can achieve anything if you put your mind to it. That we aren’t defined and limited by disabilities but can blossom in-spite of them and find a different even better way of doing things, it has totally opened my eyes and mind and has made me want to learn to sign and be able to communicate and connect in that language. She is talented, hard working and just a total delight, the behind the scene footage of them are always so joyful and sweet.
I love how we’ve seen Giovanni in a way we have never seen him before- his partnership with Rose has bought out this warm, more relaxed, vulnerable, funnier, softer and more sweet side of him. The strength in their partnership really translates on the dance floor, it never looks forced, it always looks natural and effortless. I am blown away from this pairing and their performances warm my heart and give me joy. So it won’t be a surprise that I of course want them to win and thank them for the stunning performances they have given us thus far
Beautifully put! And echoing the thoughts of many.. from the pure joy on her face in their first jive to last week's couple choice, I have loved seeing every moment of Rose and Giovanni's Strictly journey. They really are the best things on TV (in my humble opinion!). Really, really hope they make the final as their show dance is sure to be out of this world!

I've never watched Strictly in my life and never had any interest in the show and yet I keep on returning to these spectacular performances by Giovanni and Rose. They're breathtaking.

Of all the amazing dances Rose and Gio did, this has got to be my favourite. They told such a strong story, between acting, fighting and dancing simultaneously. They totally deserved their win
Giovanni, always choreographs beautiful Vienesse Waltz. I love when there is a story attached to it. Overall seeing this side of Giovanni this season has been great, and I love seeing Rose so dramatic. It was wonderful.

One of my favourite songs of all time, and this performance was stunning, my favourite of the series so far. It gave me goosebumps, these two work so well together and her technique is improving every week. She is definitely a ballroom girl, and Giovanni makes her shine!

The dance of the night for me!! ✨🔥💖 This is such an amazing song for a Viennese waltz and I was looking forward to some dramatic storytelling and powerful choreography to convey that turbulent relationship the song is talking about. Rose is proving herself to be very versatile and instinctively knows how to portray a character not just through her expressions but also through the dance itself. They covered the floor, acted their socks off and delivered this beautiful performance :)
Yeah I loved how she kept up the anger throughout the dancing even in hold so there was always a bit of tension - fantastic performance!

She is such a beautiful dancer! I missed her ballroom, she is such a ballroom girl, it's definitely her strong suit! They told such a beautiful, yet tragic story. This, right here, is the quality I expect from someone who dsnces with Giovanni. This is their best dance! Blown away by such quality!

Technically Rose has really improved. Maybe as a preference I could do with less breaks out of hold. But to have such small points to pick out at this stage just shows how tough the competition is this year!

I just wanted to say, regardless of all other considerations, this is just a heart rendingly beautiful moment in its own right. The song, the singers, the choreography and acting, everything comes together into something genuinely moving. Wow.
Strictly fan who's never missed a show and rarely comment here but Wow. Just got to say. That was sublime. No explanation needed, their actions left you in no doubt of what was happening . Rose and Gio are so connected that, in hold, they mould into one body and soul, moving effortlessly around the floor. No one else comes close to having that connection, least of all John and Johannes, who are being tipped as winners. Whilst they are amazing dancers and so synchronised, in hold they're still 2 people dancing individually with each other, as was shown last week in their american smooth. Johannes is my favourite dancer of all the pros, but I take my hat off to Gio for the way he's working with Rose this year. Every week, they just just touch my soul, and my emotions with their dancing. Not felt that connection with anyone since Cara and Artem. Maybe it's because Rose can't hear the music that she is so in tune with Gio's body? Whatever the reason, I just love this couple to bits, and whatever the outcome, Rose and Gio are already my winners.

I can't tell you how many times I've watched this dance, it's so beautiful. The music was perfect and the romance within the dance is so lovely. Them two steps back by Rose at the start into the dance is just so dreamy as well as when they're very close and Giovanni holds her hand to his chest and sways with her.
It still, even now amazes me how well Rose picks up dances each week when she is deaf. All credit to her efforts and to Giovanni for his teaching skills, attention to detail, music choice and for his patience.
They are the perfect pairing for me this year and it really is showing such a wonderful side to Giovanni. I'm rooting for the pair of them to win and lift that glitterball. Love them both. 💜

Great dancing from a great pairing. Why we don't teach kids the basics of sign language in school, I just don't know. I'm not sure what the situation is now, but In my native Sweden, I still remember the alphabet and some basic, everyday signs, taught by our (hearing) teacher, with the promise of "an actual, real, deaf child" (yes that was her words 😂) coming in to see us later that week. We were beyond exited and were all signing to each other during breaks. When the day came we all did our best to impress these sweet little deaf boy. There were tears on both sides when we realised that we could actually communicate (well sort of 🙄😂). I'll never forget it - I'm 55 this year, by the way.
This was a powerful, dramatic dance and the background was gorgeous too. 🏙️ I looove Giovanni's face when he dance!! Great actor! and I love Rose, she is so sweet💕💕

I love them! This was absolutely mesmerising. The story so believably told in the captivating choreography by Gio incorporating BSL. For me, the dance of the series so far. Rose is such a beautiful, inspirational dancer. I hope they lift that glitter ball at the end of the series.

This dance was beautiful and very heartfelt! I’ve already watched it 100x (literally like everyday)! I Love how they incorporated signing into the dance. And I absolutely love their partnership so much!
