Mike, I completely felt identified with your guest. I consider myself a “minimalist” collector since I am very intentional with my collection. I collect ‘55 Brooklyn Dodgers & 1969 NY Mets memorabilia, and selective player runs (some are not HOFers such as Al Oliver, Rusty Staub, etc.) and most of them raw, except for the 50s cards I possess. I am having a ball with my collection! Becoming a “nitchy” collector has added a special enthusiasm to my “hunting” in adding special pieces to my collection. I also downsized my collection and it was the best decision I have ever made. Thanks for today’s show. I really enjoyed it. David Mirabal
I’m glad someone else collects Al Oliver and Rusty Staub, I have great appreciation for their hitting skills. Bill Madlock is another one whose cards I really enjoy…
Mike I really appreciate you giving me the opportunity to come and have a chat about this great hobby. I had a great time and enjoyed getting to know you better. Thanks again, Drew
Great episode Mike. Drew is a one of my favorite people on RUclips. He not only appreciates the cards he has but he tells stories about the players and how he connects with his collection. My favorite kind of content. Thanks for having him on.
Drew is one of my favorite guys in the hobby incredibly great conversation full of impactful stories, and counseling many of us can use and will refer back to overtime. Great episode guys!!
Drew should be a motivational card coach every story and speech he shared had me like "yeah...yeah!...YEAH!" Great discussion guys! My hobby room(office) walls are covered in card shelves and displays and paraphernalia like so many others. And I find myself changing out displays every so often when I get the itch. And I'll go through binders or slab boxes after a few beverages on any random evening. But it's funny that we do have to sometimes remind ourselves when we get that itch to just buy *something* almost just to scratch the itch that hey, I've actually got some cool stuff that I can fawn over for free.
Really enjoyed hearing Drew’s thoughts and stories! Very glad to call Drew a friend and awesome to see him get to talk about his collection. I definitely get where he’s coming from. Thanks for sharing!
Great episode & discussion - Drew is such an encouraging voice on RUclips - & yes, the decisions that we have to make from time to time with our collections can be really tough to make. + knowing the backstory on cards & players is so interesting.
Great conversation Mike! Drew is awesome! As someone who collected way too much volume as a kid, I definitely identify with the desire to collect less and more meaningful now.
Love this episode! I found that when I had a sports room, it was much easier to enjoy my collection just by having it out and around. It led to easy access and desire to reorganize. My daughter also wanted to start a series of looking at my card collection, so last week we started "Card of the Week" where she picks one of my cards out that she finds interesting, and then we talk about it on my channel. Let's me enjoy the stuff I have through a new lens. ~Allon
It was great to hear you guys discuss the hobby and different ways to enjoy it! I have been blessed to be getting to know Drew. What a great guy! Thank you again, Mike! 😊👊
Really enjoyed this episode. It hit home with me. I’m not at 3 cards a yr but I’m closer to 1-3 cards per month. Greatly thinned out my collection the last few yrs. I’m not one to have a ton of unwanted cards
Fantastic video guys. I’ve always bought and sold to get other cards. I’ve found it’s certainly a high for me to sell some lower cards to obtain a larger one. When you don’t buy packs to open often, it’s a nice replacement
I have found joy in researching players. I recently bought a Chief Bender Cracker Jack card. I have become intrigued about his story. I’m looking for a book to read about him being of Native American descent playing in the early 20th century
Such a great topic. I started produce the Graded Card Storage Case for my own PC for this very reason of how can I appreciate and enjoy the Cards I have. Best Regards, Steve
Fantastic episode and such an important topic. Acquisitions for your collection should be like sex in your marriage….definitely a fun part but just one of many fulfilling aspects. Hobbyists put way too much emphasis on constantly adding, IMO.

Drew is a great friend and I love that he was on the show! Drew didn’t even get to show one of his custom displays off! Great listen guys!

The Drew A Vintage Legacy exactly is where I’ve reached in my view of collecting fantastic video
Give me 59 Brooks Robinson cards all day lol

I think the Astro sliding is Jim Wynn , looks more like Wynn to me than Morgan. Both had stolen bases in that game.
Great conversation guys! Will Mike keep his 50+ Brooks Robinson autographs after this video, or put some towards a Delong Lou Gehrig? 😁

Yeah boy let’s go
Send all that shit to DCSports, they don’t report payouts .. not as hard as you think .. btw I got a 33 Delong and 52 Mantle by doing just that
....or you just sell to Ty for a Chasing Cardboard episode......
