I reluctantly bought a HexClad because my wife wanted it. It is no where near as non-stick as Teflon and does not sear as well as stainless or cast iron. While it may have its uses, I would definitely not purchase one again. As mentioned in the video, get multiple pans, a well seasoned cast iron should be tops on your list for searing.

I have Heritage Steel pans and absolutely love them. In my opinion, they tick all the same boxes as hexclad.

I found a brand called Clad Craft that makes a hex clad type of pan. Tri ply nonstick stainless steel. Ceramic coated free of PFAs, PFOAs, and PTFE

I'd be interested to see 5 years down the road when the non stick has begun to degrade. Raised stainless bumps can't prevent the non stick from degrading from repeated heating and cooling cycles. Will the warranty cover that or will they try to worm out of it since it won't be a visible defect it will just work worse.

Why the hell would you buy a saucepan or stock pot with a non stick surface?

You showed the poor grip of the Analon X with a rubber mitt, but the Hexclad with your bare hands. Was there a reason for this?

My parents used carbon steel for years.😊

My problem with Hexclad is that out of the 3 reasons nonstick coatings fail, Hexclad only protects against one of them (when you could just as easily simply not use metal utensils on your nonstick pans), & yet they're marketed as the end all & be all of cookware.

Did anyone even bother to see if HexClad had a patent on their surface? I guarantee they don't. How? Because all evidence suggests HexClad is a white labeled product that is made custom by a factory in China, who will white label products for other people in quantity. FOB China price on their pans in quantity is less than $40 per unit. I have had a pair of "HexClad" fry pans, branded Viking for years. Before Hexclad even existed as a brand. They were bought at Sams Club several years ago and were less than $60 for the pair, an 8 inch and 10 inch.

Interesting however, my main concern is the toxicity level of cookware especially non stick ones. With so many things in our environment and products that we use are toxic it's getting harder and harder who to trust these days. Thank for valuable insight. Please do a vid on what is potentially toxic or not. God Bless

Cast iron, carbon steel, and stainless steel are chemical-free options.

@@PrudentReviews Sorry to be pedantic, but everything is a chemical, including metals. The word "chemical" does not mean "bad for you or the environment".
I also won't buy non-stick pans any more, not because of the toxicity, but because it bothers me to have to toss an otherwise excellent pan with a degraded coating. Instead, I found a loss leader on a Hestan nano-bond pan ... you can't cook fat free in it, but I love the pan. I don't have to baby it, it's close to non-stick (with fat), and cleans up easily.
Needless to say, I have no interest in Hexclad style pans ... the coating absolutely will degrade.
