The blue boxes have things that take you to the Chao garden where you can raise Chao as if it was your own child. 3. Robots have these tube looking things inside of the called "chaos drives" you can use those, along with any animals you find, to level up your chao 4. The big tv screens in the knuckles and rouge levels gives you hints on where the master emerald pieces are but they will also lower your overall rank at the end, so it's like a double edged sword Hope this helps and have a good day/night
Well, it's not that the Hints lower your Rank, they just lower the Bonus points you get for finding Emerald Shards. You can help yourself with that by destroying enemies and collecting Rings to get a higher score.
Unironically Knuckles has the best music in the game P.S: If you keep playing this game, make sure to explore the levels with anyone you play as. Exploration is a big key factor of this game (except like sonic and shadow, just go fast for them)

The Homing attack in this game is different, you have to be above your target (You bounce a bit upwards if you wait and that sometimes is the gamechanger between landing the next homing attack or not.) If you want them high ranks The game promotes a different category than just speed. Its more points in this than just finishing under a clock time. Sonic/Shadow = Style is the big one here, Chaining homing attacks into Light speed, just doing as many cool things consecutively really. ALSO Hold B briefly for a spin dash, Doesnt need to be charged and gives you MAD SPEED Going downhill. Momentum is NUTTY FUN. Tails/Eggman = Hold down the b button to lock on to multiple targets, Get as many as you can without the laser expiring (It turns slowly blue) and then fire away for big points/style bonus. (IMPORTANT IF YOU LOVE YOUR EARS. there ARE mods to turn down the Beeping lmao) Knuckles/Rouge = TBH just speed. You can get hints from the computer monitors scattered throughout the level But they reduce your score each time (You can check hints in pause btw) I actually found going for high ranks really fun so hopefully you do that too! Oh and uh. Chao Garden is like... everyone's childhood. The animals are for boosting Chao stats so they can compete in races and karate (Yes literal Baby fights.) Any other questions im sure loads of people myself included would love to help improve your experience. The most fun thing to watch for us is Someone Having fun with something we love! (Also We Mad want more you kiddin? Think bout how few people are Discovering Sonic adventure 2 now adays, WE STARVING HOMIE.)

(Not that i'd recommend that for a first playthrough lmao im just tellin you people are crazy.)) and all that (seriously the depth people have added to the Chao garden with the Chao World Extended makes me worry for the modder's mental health. Downloaded that right away regardless though hah.) I'd Recommend using the modloader so you can experiment easier with whatcha want. Find what works for you and make this game Shine lmao. (The Underlying goal here is to make you like the game so much you spend 3 eons to A rank every mission and side and unlock the secret mission jkjk just have fun!)

Definitely should keep up this playthrough, big hint though is to always back track and look for the character upgrades it's one in every stage for each character of the Hero and Dark story. For example if you come back to Green Forest and get to the inside area after a loop jump, once you take the sideways half-loop and reach the top instead of going through the checkpoint turn around and wait for the camera to shift at the edge or just spin dash jump across to find the Mystic Melody upgrade.

It's rare to see modern/commentary playthroughs on some of the older games. Some of my favorites aren't even that old, but it was juuuust before RUclips exploded, so I can't see other people enjoying them like I did. It's not that bad with Sonic games, but still a treat either way
I want to actually give you some tips, as I'm someone who plays this game very often. Tip 1: you can also use the X button instead of the B button. They both do the same thing. Tip 2: Hold X or B to do a spin dash. It gives you a good amount of speed and also works as an attack. Tip 3: When it comes to homing attacking, it's better not to spam it, but instead time it. After a homing attack, you need to make sure your target is at least in front of or below sonic. Tip 4: Ranking requires skill. In each stage type, there are different requirements necessary to get a good rank. Speed (Sonic): get to the goal fast, but also do what you can to get a high score. Lightspeed dashes, beating enemies, doing tricks, and collecting rings give you score. Try not to lose your rings as they give you bonus score at the end. Treasure hunt (Knuckles): You want to find the Emeralds fast and not use any floating hint monitors if you want the best rank. That's about it. Mech (Tails): you want to hold X or B to lock onto as many enemies as possible and let go to shoot homing shots at all of them. Holding the lazer for too long will cancel it out, so keep that in mind. You want to keep aiming for high combos. That said, I hope this helps Mikeeey and anyone else who wants to get into this fan favorite game! Gotta go fast.

As you can see it’s not like frontiers, you really need skill to maintain momentum!!! It’s not as fixed like the newer sonic games. And there’s no visible lock on for homing attack, so you have to be adept to the range where it homes in on an enemy. Still goated imo. Only takeaway is the couple bugs and animation glitches. The music fire tho 🔥
The design before Shadow was Terios. He was dark blue and had a design more similar to Sonic. With Terios design, people mistaking him as Sonic makes more sense

One thing about SA1, 2, and Heroes is that you *have* to jump high enough to be above the enemy for the homing attack to work
I don't know about Sonic Omens, but Sonic Frontiers has a level of cyberspace that's Green Forest, so that might be why it felt familiar!
