    Nice deer feeder and I just subscribed! I like how you use the plastic drum for the trough. That should hold up for a while. I know you have a roof but how does it do in the rain. I'm thinking about rain blowing in on the feed but does it stay fairly dry? Thanks for the idea!

    I've thought about making one of these. Now that you've had it for a while.....anything you would do differently? I didn't see any drain holes in the barrel for possible rain. And how do you manage the raccoons from eating it all before the deer do?

    How much corn does it hold
    And how often do you have to fill it back up?

    Not enough details for this build. Like, measurements, height, and did you drill holes in bottom of barrel through to keep water from standing and molding corn.

    Nice feeder. Around my lease area the hogs are so bad and belligerent that unless the feeder base were broader and secured with posts the 300+ boars will topple it.

    Well if you wanted to to make it lighter you could put flat top on it?

    Thanks for the video, helped give me some ideas
    Video tip: don't switch from quietly talking into the far away mic then switching to not muted saw usage, ouch my ears...

    Could you please give the measurements for total height and explain how you measure and make the cuts for the roof angles and bracing. Thanks

    It's just a deer feeder man. Talk about overkill. LOL!

    They need to take this down because you did not give measurements

    I'll preface with that I have no issues with hunting and see it as a need for population control for the deer, but I have a question as I don't hunt. You wait in the hut at the end of the video for the deer to come to the feed and shoot them from the little windows?

      VampireOnline no. Some people do that but much like myself not all hunters shoot everything that they see. We try and wait for a big Buck

      @Some 1poisoned the water hole Not really! The mature bucks don't fool with feeders too much on free range low fenced places during shooting time. You'll c does and small illegal bucks in Texas where I hunt at specifically, all the bucks we killed yes we may not have stalked them but none came to those feeders either but were in rifle range of either our blind or where I was standing on the ground.All our big bucks Feed at night time or they graze the fields for them little red berries. I plan on doing a few food plots this year, knowing they don't really care to visit our feeders in the daytime, maybe a little more natural for a mature buck.

      @Some 1poisoned the water hole Them suckers are smart! I have a bow but nothing I want ever comes in range of it, that's why I'm looking into natural feeding and staging sources. The problem is two major parties, Hogs and Cows! Lots of both and they eat all my hard work!

    • @gogitr8904
      @gogitr8904 5 лет назад

      @Some 1poisoned the water hole I know, really! I may fence the part I wanna do but that's more work! The owner leases the land to the guy that owns the 130 acres b4 entering our 130 the 130 cross the cattle guard and the other 200 or so capping off the back end of our plot that other owner's brother own s it. So we are boxed in and it's kinda like damn we don't wanna start no static but his cows are horrible and they tear up and eat everything and he doesn't fix anything!
