I dont know why but knowing Xion comes in after Roxas gets knocked out makes me feel weirdly emotional. Like a somber and sweet feeling.
I must say, Xion fly like a Butterfly, sting like a bee, and she loves pushing everyone around! She could literally move the enemy a kilometer away with her combos alone.
Jokes aside, Xion appearing whenever Roxas is defeated to protect him is amazing, and it would make sense. Since Roxas did not merge with Sora, it could happen that Xion was freed from Sora and became part of Roxas, so whenever Roxas is defeated, she appears and protect him, and return to him whenever she revive him.
Now the only thing that is missing is for Roxas to be able to summon Samurai Nobodies to be his temporary party members ( Roxas in this mod never have any ally in his party, so summoning of Samurais would fix it ), and maybe Axel becoming a party member in later part of the game.

I love how far KH2 modding has come! Iirc, Xion’s animations are from Melody of Memory? It’s amazing to see them implemented into the engine like this!

One thing that always bothers me with KH2 is how Mickey just shows up for some fights outta nowhere.
It makes sense from a game dev standpoint for the earlier fights and some that the devs thought that could be tough for players.
But this just makes sense, it might have been unintentional but the fact you had it be Beast's Castle that was primarily shown an important place to the both of them..
I haven't had a mod showcase make me cry before but damn.

She had to tho he nearly killed the guy she loves now before you call bs there’s a secret report that was written by xion in 358/2 days and she stated that she loves Roxas and when I read that I cried all over again bc I realize she sacrificed herself out of love so Roxas could live on

Feels more like 'I deeply care for my two friends' than in love. Of course the three love each other, they did spend weeks together. We can't forget Axel was also mentioned so I feel the idea she loves Roxas as more than a best friend is a little bit of a stretch. I honestly don't ship Roxas with anyone, but you do you. We both can agree these three should be happy at least.

This is absolutely incredible. I enjoy the toned down effects, the weapons and combos are already stylish enough without the effects being overly flashy. As for the playable Xion, it looks great and somewhat viable, unlike Mickey.
Someone's gonna make a whole remaster of 358/2 in KH2. I feel it.
At this point Xion is basically the Joker from Arkham Knight

Honestly Xion is like a million times better than Mickey, because xaldin literally killed Mickey because he’s way too slow!!! It’s so annoying!
Xion on the other hand annihilates Xaldin! You do not hurt her bf unless you want to feel her anger!
Also Xion saving Roxas makes so much more sense than Mickey saving Sora! I literally asked my sister why doesn’t Riku or Kairi save Sora because they’re closer friends to Sora!
Also if Mickey insists on helping you he shouldn’t just help you once in a blue moon! Also when Mickey stops showing up to help it’s so hard to get him to show up again!
But I digress, you did an amazing job on this!

The game looks visually incredible with this mod! in the beginning of the video I had to do a double take to see if it was kh3 or 2 and throughout it I continued to be in awe of the visuals and how well done the animation is. Watching this project over the course of time which feels like forever is truly amazing! I cannot wait until I someday get a pc so I can experience it myself!

Having actually played the game makes these devlogs a lot more fun to watch, I have context on how the changes will actually affect the feel of the game a lot more! I was always wondering if you'd do anything with Mickey in the future, I half-expected you to just disable mickey at some point but this is so much cooler, It's a shame that it can only happen on a handful of fights, I might die on purpose a few times just to try it out some more.

Something about this era of gaming just hits different. It wasn’t all hyper realism and more about the actual game .
Incorporating her KH3 data boss style I see. Man, imagine if in a Days remake you got to play alongside Xion, and you watch how she and Roxas develop in two different ways. They start with the same basic combos and maybe some magic, but then they each get their own finishers, elements, and using the higher tiers of the same elements differently. Could even have her using different keychains as the days progress.
I haven't been this hype since seeing a new smash direct. Now we know exactly who I'm gonna have ice cream with.
