Chorus:
You need to git up, git out and git something
Don't let the days of your life pass by
You need to git up, git out and git something
Don't spend all your time tryna get high, nigga
You need git up, git out and git something
How will you make it if you never even try?
You need to git up, git out and git something
Cause you and I got to do for you and I

"I hang with Rico Wade 'cause the Dungeon is where the funk's at, boy..."
Goddamn, Cee-lo was only 18 years old spitting those bars
He wasn't just spitting bars. That man was speaking real-life pain and stuggles.
they were all teenagers

RIP Rico Wade. This music is legendary 🔥🙏🏾
It is! Such a loss to the music industry and Atlanta! 😢
Need to play this for the niggaz 24 and up that don’t wanna do shit but lay in the house, smoke weed, drink nasty/cheap liquor and be sorry. Studies show that 30%+ of them don’t even get laid or have friends. Thank the creator we had music like this that literally made us get off our asses.
Respect 💪🏾💪🏾!! Needed this !! Wherever you are , thank you OG!!!!
Yoooo you said it! Thank you and my people need it
"I know the Lord didn't bring me this far to drop me off here" gave me chills.
I know the Lord didnt bring me this far to drop me off , thank you Lord Jesus when was young going on a couple of jobs ( not a job)and from people after you at same time had to keep alot of loot in pocket a favorite song cut

Did he make him self clear? Praise King Jesus
“I know the Lord ain’t bring me this far so He can drop me off here, did I make myself clear” brings tears to my eyes every time I hear it. 😢

Cee-Lo's verse is one of the best on Hip-Hop. Such motivation and positivity... We need more of this in 2020.
ABSOLUTELY! I like kevin gates "wish i had it" for modern motivational nowadays. Like you said, we definitely need more inspiration like this.
bigg gipp to me was something special

The best is a far cry, but definitely sick. No hate. Words like best, love, hate etc.. are just words we use to simplify our intellect and numb down our culture. So I feel.
He kill it
You can def feel ceelo came from the heart with his rhymes, Bruh was really going through what he spittin on.
True shit
That first verse was so real. Probably the realest verse of all time.

Facts!! He is unrated at rapper!!
Yes indeed.
Right, best hip hop years. But nowadays even CeeLo is wack.
No BS, CeeLo's wordplay is bar none. He can spit stories with so much meaning, dude's rhymes are a constant rewind.
@@etherman7124 I consider Cee Lo as a fantastic singer, so he did his own thing. But yeah times have changed.
Outkast is cemented in hip hop history as the greatest duo ever. Nothing but greatness from day one
yea, altough i'm only 20years old i i actually started listinging to outkast back in 98-99 i still think ATLiens and Aquemini are up there with the best hiphop albums from a duo ever, i like their smoothness & mellowness in their songs and some jazz samples.. for me Outkast & Gangstarr are my favorite hiphop groups ever
belgiumlife Im only 20 too and it was around the same time for me. I classify duos n groups in diff. categories though. To me outkast is the greatest duo of all time (imo), although their are alot of runner ups and contenders
This girl here is 33. There's no age-restriction for good music. And yes, Outkast is best.
belgiumlife so you were listening to outkast when you were 4-5 years old?
Greater than Run DMC?
"you need to get up, get out, cut that bullshit out, aint you tired of having to do without?" best line from a song that can and SHOULD inspire anybody going through a rough patch to reevaluate their life choices. Thats why Kast are the greatest group of all time.
Always been my favorite line
Leave the kids alone damn
CeeLo’s greatest verse. This mf got down. Flow, lyrics, and a message as the cherry on top. I got a job because CeeLo said not to spend all my time trying to get high
Facts 💯

Cee-lo can paint a fucking picture, lyrically, and make it sound good.
I don't care what he think or how he live in real life. Same as Michael Jackson, his talent doesn't have anything to do with personal.
He is a genius when it comes to hip hop, always will be.
Facts homie, i can't help wondering what would be like if they remain a group all 4 them, i think they would change the world of hip hop and ours too.
"Ain't you sick and tired of having to do without?" That hit hard cause I am...
Same I'm just tired of the struggle

I just seen this video and the fact Cee-Lo talking to himself makes that verse hit harder for some reason
Every time i was in a funk depressed or stressed and on drugs, this was my motivating song to get up. God didn't bring me this far to drop me off here. God saved me and i been clean for 12 years now. I play this for my children as well and i prayy now it still motivate and encourage our youth to do and be better in life....thank God for ceelo outkast. I pray god has saved their souls as well.

When I was 16 I used to listen to this in bed to motivate myself to get up after a heavy night getting blitzed with the boys. Now, every now and then, I hear my 16 year old son rocking it in his room. The apple does not fizzall fizzare from the trizzay!
That's something to be proud of!!!!
Even back then Andre` 3000 flow was vicious
Been vicious since 94
Still is vicious

The GOOD-DIE MOSTLY OVER BULLSH*T...isn't that sad truth! Goodie Mob is, and will always be, the best in my eyes. They rapped about real issues that real people have to go through, encouraging and never discouraging.

Ceelo verse hit me hard, I had just gotten out of prison i was 21. This was Energy.
ATL in the 90s was transformational for me. Rico Wade, Outkast, Bone Crusher, The Chronicle, Thursday night at Yin Yang and MJQs were all we needed. We started a movement that has transcended generations.
Outkast saved my life. "Git up git got git something. Don't spend all your life getting high. You need to git up, git out and git something. You and I got to do for you and I." This was 1994. Marietta GA on the sofa blazing and I jumped up, looked in the news paper, found a job. Got hired at CNN and haven't looked back yet. Be inspired to live your life in spite of the odds. I always win when I bet on myself.
RIP Rico. Your purpose has saved lives and created a lane for those of us who were searching for our North Star. I got it!! Presh8 you big homie!!
one of OutKast's greatest songs! The best era in hip hop, the 90's.
Cee Lo slayed it
This song is one of my hustle themes. This song makes me get my hustle and grind on! I hope that OutKast come out with another album in the 2022. Peace!
Back when we all had potential. The world was a possibility, music was meaningful… we felt it though, we felt the end of the good days coming: y2k, 9/11, big brother, social technologies. We used to play and hang in the park, now we stare at phone alone in the dark.
Who said rap music couldn't be beautiful 😍
These kids were way ahead of their time. Shouts outs to thee Goodie Mob & Outkast
This song made a huge impact on my life for the better
Dude on the 1st verse shouldn’t did the hole song!!! He was in the zone, vocally and lyrically
“I don’t recall/ever graduatin at all/ sometimes I feel I’m just a disappointment to y’all.” I heard that line so I got up got out and got something.
I feel this song should be a hit on the radio on and off. It’s timeless. It has a strong message. This is a problem today’s youth.

Top 10 tracks of all time
This song has made Atlanta what it is today.
ATLANTA: HIP-HOP CAPITAL OF THE SOUTH
Remember yall. The rap industry heard Cee-Lo's verse on this song, and still said the South was lame. These boys had to kick the doors down, and let em know what was up, and they still hated.
Yep all you have to do is watch The source awards and you can see salt and pepper how you know outkast now look at the South everybody want a piece of it
This song just randomly played in my mind and I been thinking about my next move. This song is literally on point for me right now. I need to get up get out and get something. How will I make it if I never even try.❤
I never even realized Cee-Lo could actually rap. I know they said it in their Unsung episode but I didn't really pay attention at first. This song is fire
Who ever diss liked this video need to git up git out and get something
Man this takes me back. I lived in the South and remember when "Players Ball" single dropped. EVERYONE was just on it...you just knew that Outkast was the next big thing...and then Southernplayalistik came out and that CD never left my stereo. Just such a good time to be in the south and great music to accompany it, with Goodie Mob on that album as well. I spent a lot of time in Atlanta and I was privileged to get to hear "Soul Food" album about 6 months before it came out...amazing album. I've been a huge Dungeon Family fan ever since. I won't sit here and bash the new music, but all I can do is be nostalgic because this music takes me back to such a good time in my life and if you're young these days...you'll see what I mean. In 20 years your kids will be listening to stuff that will make you go "huh?"...just saying. Not bashing new stuff, just not what I'm about so listen to what you want...but one day when your grey hairs are popping up and your kids are driving you nuts, you'll look back and reminisce as well.
Just enjoy life and never take it for granted, because nobody is guaranteed tomorrow.
Agree bruh I miss the 90s so much man shit makes me cry
This is to the south what C.R.E.A.M is to the east coast
Definitely is tho 💯💯💯
CeeLo was way too raw for what rap knew ! He was goin in for the south Goodie Mob was the best rap group of the south other than Geto Boys. But I'm also sick & tired of struggling lolol ! Did I make myself clear !
20 yrs to get our shyt together.Sellout rappers nowadays ain't giving out life lessons like this.Wake up,get a job or go to school .You'll end up in prison doing all the work the of the deported mexicans or free, making America great again.
