This place is the Airport Cafe on the A20 Sellindge. It’s still there and they do a great breakfast. Although originally a petrol station I think the pumps were put there for this sketch
It's classic R&M. It just leaves the viewer thinking 'what the fuck have I just watched?' It works on many levels and like most surrealism it makes you think, laugh, and feel a bit uncomfortable as well in this linear world of ours. Thank god for people like vic n bob to challenge our thoughts with their unique brand of humour.
@@Elephantstonica I last saw them at Seaton Carew Beach, just next to the wonderful, if slightly rundown, Art Deco bus station, presumably keeping away from the locals...
I just watched it thinking I've never seen it before then it got to the egg bit and I suddenly remembered seeing it as a kid and being fuckin terrified, the boiled egg is burned in my mind.
One of the things I think is pure genius about Vic and Bob is that they have this ability to make something that would usually be considered quite sad to be funny. If this sketch was done by someone else other than Vic and Bob, I would find it more sad, but because it's Vic and Bob I find it hilarious yet slightly moving at the same time!
Such is the heartbreaking level of present day apathy among the British public that since this fine television presentation not *one* precious monkey has been baptized! 🙈 🙉 🙊 NOT ONE!! >:/
I fell about first time I saw this and have just watched it for the second time now, it is just sooooo funny, strange but funny and sad at the same time.
Yeah I was waiting for the wipers to fly off! Which one was that on? 😆 Love this one though, wonder if the precious monkeys made it to their baptism!? 😧🙈🙊🙉

@curiousaboutthispuma well you don't need to know them to get the homour. the parodies are so obscure to most people and don't really work as something we know. I suppose not parodies but influences from people like bunuel and dali (watch a film of theirs!) and having it as something so obscure and out of nowhere makes it more likeable. Vic is actually an artist and a comedian too. he puts on exhibitions and they are very similar to those strange drawings he does... that's surrealism...
dunno why people class vic and bob as surreal. just two guys doing what they think is funny. like the 2 ronnies and eric and ernie. personally i think they piss all over anything a british comedian has done for the last 2 decades (except for the almighty blackadder, and the league of gentlemen gets an honourable mention.)
the canned laughter ruins it. This is exactly the kind of humour that creates a surreal situation where anything can happen. the canned laughter is played meaninglessly over events such as the man dying and remains unused at other hysterical moments like when bob hits the car with a plastic cup. it's dumbing down otherwise fantastic humour into a series of punchlines
I love the bloody music it’s class
The Larry Page Orchestra - Music For Night People track 6 - Zabadak!

Exactly, not many comedians could do zany sketches like this and make it so funny.
Favourite sketch ever
When this sketch started I remembered seeing it. But I forgot about the egg. Frickin hilarious.🤣🤦🏻♂️🤪
Never in all my pot smoking days have i laughed so much!
Beautiful, just beautiful.
All we can do is hope and pray that someone found those precious monkeys and had them baptised
I’m still searching. Currently on the A178 heading into Hartlepool.
Don’t hold out much hope for them if they were near here.

I reckon ( based on nothing ) that the closing “now that I’m dead...” was the start of the idea. And the rest was a device to get there.
I remember watching this when I was 9 and feeling genuinely moved and horrified at the same time.
I just watched it thinking I've never seen it before then it got to the egg bit and I suddenly remembered seeing it as a kid and being fuckin terrified, the boiled egg is burned in my mind.
god they look so young here
XDDD i love how bob tries to implement the strategic benefits of a styrofoam cup into the situation at 1:49
Only Vic and Bob could do something like this and make it funny.
David Lynch watched this sketch .... the rest is cinematic history.
Awesome sketch! One of my all time favourites!
It's "There's Something Going On" by Babybird
This is like a David Lynch movie.
Bob's smile at 2:50 is so adorable.
you can watch 100 times and its still funny

As stated previously in thread, Something going on by Babybird. its here on youtube, highly recommend it, great song

Its relatable, thats what makes it funny.

that was ridiculous!!!
Whats the song playing at the beginning part of it
Zabadak.
what in the hell is going on with that egg?
Brilliant!!!
This is my favourite scene from the best Vic and Bob series (Bang Bang?).Why was it shown late night on BBC 2!? Watermelon patch anyone?
Would you like some black milk sir?

Is this an episode of Twin Peaks?
hahahah ahahahah hahah ahhahahahahhahaha ahhahah

Love it 😂
What with the monkeys, the egg coming out of someone's mouth, and the disappearing body, it's almost like a Dragon Ball sendup.
babybird-there's something going on
Great Album!
Baby Bird's best imo 😸_👍
That's very frustrating
It is frustrating innit?
This demonstrates the frustration we all have with car doors in this modern life. Or is it just me?

A friend of mine and I believe that the egg in the mouth thing may occur in something else like a music video, can anyone confirm this?
What's the song called that plays in the background when the guy dies?
I know you asked this 3 years ago, but the song is called 'There's something going on - Babybird'
Does anyone know what the music is during the bit "There's something going on..."?

The sacrament of baptism has not, I think, often been extended to monkeys. At least not in the Western tradition.
Forget surrealism, why not just accept it as funny,!? just as it was intended.
More 'Lynchian' than anything David Lynch has ever made, more watchable too!
