Luke, I'm an ESMD native living in Alabama now, and have been subscribed for a long time. You are an inspiration. All my life (I'll be 51 this month), I've always wanted my own business, and I'm finally venturing into that with Mobile Auto Detailing. Without knowing it, following your ups and downs has prepared me for handling the adversity that comes with a new business. I'm kinda in the same boat you are (Pun not intended) at this moment. Last week, the van I use for my business took a huge dump and is now needing a new engine. Going almost 8K in debt just for that isn't helping the start-up in any way, especially since I just finished the outlay for all the equipment and chemicals I'll need to get rolling. I'm hoping that I can be just as resilient as you are in the face of adversity. I have no doubt you will overcome this setback and rise above where you were before!
Luke, I love your work and share your info to everyone I know. When it comes to old hoses and belts, Dad alway said to save them for when you break down, but then get new ones and install them. I'm betting on a couple guys that didn't know the boat was already sold and was trying to screw over the seller/owner. Luke said the seller didn't have enough fuel in his truck to meet him half an hour and made Luke drive two hours round trip for a down payment what was probably tens of thousands if not more. It doesn't make a lick of sense that he couldn't spare a cent to make a dollar. Maybe that was just an off-handed comment, but it definitely painted a picture for me about the seller.

I even used it when I go and addicts when I have to work on fiberglass duct work or when I have to blow insulation❤
i may be new here, but i can tell how much that boat meant to you already. i bought one of my dream cars over 15 years ago and had been trying to get it right all this time, but i had a lot of things/people get in the way of my progress with it, and one year ago already in June of 2023 someone went on to my property and stole both my dream car and my first ever truck that i drove to high school that was a gift from my grandmother when i was 14. i had my truck for 20+ years and the car for around 15, they were the most important possessions to me. even though its all just stuff and people say that stuff can always be replaced this "stuff" was a part of me basically my entire life (im 35) and its not that easy. thankfully at least your boat was still there and able to float, so at least there's that. i hope you are able to get it the way you want it very soon.
Man makes a deal he can't meet you halfway sounds really shady. Once he gets some money they strip the boat, sorry to say that's inside job my friend would be checking craigslist and pawn shops for all the equipment they stole.
100% Luke also said he made a special deal to get that equipment thrown in. Dude is obviously super hard up for money if he can't afford 60 miles worth of gas for his truck.... To get money for a down payment on something he is selling....can't be bothered to drive to make money. Insanity.
best method when messing with fiber glass is is lay in a really cold river/ stream or a kiddy pool of ice water. 3/4 bags of ice and lay in it for 5-10 mins..the ideal way is a 55gal barrel of ice water up high with a short hose and swower nozzel to wash off the fiber glass as the ice cold water closes your pores..learned that trick in 1985 doing ac duct work with fiber glass, cold north georgia river 3 days in a row after work and no itching at all
this might sound crazy but it works. when you have to cut or grind fiberglass...pre clog your skin with baby powder. hands, arms, anything exposed. and orient the grinder to spray away from you with the wind / fan / vacuum. also a diamond blade on a multitool works very well and the dust is extremely manageable.
Luke, hang tough, you are smart and working a plan to scale up which comes with challenges. You are persistent and that will get you through. I bought one of the hooded sun shirts and it is awesome. Definitely going to order some of the crab cakes. Keep your head up, and the content has been spot-on.

i may be new here, but i can tell how much that boat meant to you already. i bought one of my dream cars over 15 years ago and had been trying to get it right all this time, but i had a lot of things/people get in the way of my progress with it, and one year ago already in June of 2023 someone went on to my property and stole both my dream car and my first ever truck that i drove to high school that was a gift from my grandmother when i was 14. i had my truck for 20+ years and the car for around 15, they were the most important possessions to me. even though its all just stuff and people say that stuff can always be replaced this "stuff" was a part of me basically my entire life (im 35) and its not that easy. thankfully at least your boat was still there and able to float, so at least there's that. i hope you are able to get it the way you want it very soon.
HEY MAN YOU HAVE A GOOD PRESENCE ON YOUR VIDS.....FROM A FELLOW RUclipsR KEEP IT UP AND I MISS CRABING IN L.A.......BUT LOVE TO STILL WATCH
13:45 as well as the wood border i recommend you cut PCV pipes to make bumblers on the side to protect it from ware and tear
Insanity.
Yup... Sounds like an inside job to me also...
Unfortunately, most workplace theft is actually an inside job
best method when messing with fiber glass is is lay in a really cold river/ stream or a kiddy pool of ice water.
3/4 bags of ice and lay in it for 5-10 mins..the ideal way is a 55gal barrel of ice water up high with a short hose and swower nozzel to wash off the fiber glass as the ice cold water closes your pores..learned that trick in 1985 doing ac duct work with fiber glass, cold north georgia river 3 days in a row after work and no itching at all
have you considered building a dishwasher style crab pot washer instead of just a hot water tank to clean the pots while you fish them?
I was wondering if it would be easier to clean with that fiberglass bin, if you build a box underneath it so you don't need to bend that far down?
Keep up the work I love the videos look forward to seeing more videos keep your head up keep moving forward.
Amazing video brother. The storm looked pretty rough boom.
this might sound crazy but it works. when you have to cut or grind fiberglass...pre clog your skin with baby powder. hands, arms, anything exposed. and orient the grinder to spray away from you with the wind / fan / vacuum. also a diamond blade on a multitool works very well and the dust is extremely manageable.
Brother ups and downs keep grinding good stuff luke
Man, I feel for you!! You are a hard-working young man!!! Hang in there!!!
Luke, hang tough, you are smart and working a plan to scale up which comes with challenges. You are persistent and that will get you through. I bought one of the hooded sun shirts and it is awesome. Definitely going to order some of the crab cakes. Keep your head up, and the content has been spot-on.
Nothing like a nice swampy Maryland summer🎉
Luke, you have to spend big to make it bigger. You have the mindset to be successful. You have a beautiful wife, good friends, are able to work, and willing to put the work in so I feel like you have a pretty good combination. Much love from NC.
I thank God for all His Blessings fromm the Southern Girl. What a money maker and learning experience it has been!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Thank God !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The thick fiberglass lip that you cutoff comprised the structural integrity of the tank.
Every comment helps. Chin up my boy, if you never look down you'll never be down. Keep your head up high Grass Hopper
Hey brother, I’m so excited for you. Congratulations on the boat and again so sorry to hear what happened I will do the best I can to help you out brother my prayers for you and your bride and your crew for safe fishing and many crabs.
Keep pushing man!! It’s a setback, but you got this!
You are a good kid keep up the hard work! Michigan here
Those theories, are very possible, good luck
Selling crabs can’t be too different from the restaurant business. The slowest months for us is in Aug-September so don’t worry too much about it. Happens to the best of us!
It’ll work out brother - keep your head up - you work hard and appear to be a pretty stand up dude - everything will turn eventually - you are only going thru this because you are able to push through- so keep pushing brother
We ran 45 foot boat and 450 cummins engine my capitaon and me 250 lobster traps on drops at a hundred to 150 feet some time even 30 feet depending and when it got to hot like that which i never missed a day or fucken storm cause they all have huge fiberglass boats that take it. Fifteen foot wave come snd u cant gaff it cause the wave took u up way higher than the boyee. Ur boys need to come to the north atalantic
I work in a boat factory, I love fiberglass grinding dust!!!
You never want to use threaded tape with hydraulics because the tape will get you in trouble in stead you want to use thread paste so that there is no way to plug up the small holes in hydraulic systems
use baby powder or corn starch on your arms before cutting glass will help with itch.
28:55 What a great Salesman, Husband, Man...and if you ain't those three...you ain't no crabber.
This was great Luke. Your realization of what you did and what you are going to have to do now that you bought the boat, and business, was priceless. Running the by bridge on a weekend sucks. east on friday and west on sunday can be a challenge. much better since they put the kent narrows in....looking forward to more on the vandalism to the boat.
Love the channel Brotherman. I love your hustle and grind. You are the common man.
Doing the fellow lukes proud with the type of work you been doing
I feel the struggles Luke !!. You are exceptional role model. Your work ethics are inspiring. We all wish you the best.. God bless you 🙏.. if only I was living closer I would love to help an be a great mate like aj 👍.. proud of you. Be proud of yourself !!!!❤
My favorite RUclipsr 🦀🔥
Thank you for watching!
What a week! ALL the things coming at you... it does seem to be how life works when it comes to leveling up, it seems to ask, "How bad do you really want it? How committed are you to moving to the next level?"
Bucket to catch the drain the parched leaking problem.
Kinda crazy it sat for years. You buy it all of a sudden someone destroyed it. I'm thinking the owner may have taken what he wanted after he sold it and made it look like theft. I think you was set up. Either way, you have haters. People always jealous of the man on top.
I was thinking the same thing
Grabbed a shirt. Good luck to you in the future!
Absolutely love your content. from Birmingham, UK
Damn that burns me up for you about that boat dude. You'll get it straight bestbof luck to you!
Seeing how excited and anxious you were whilst also knowing what is about to happen is the saddest thing.
New Luke post! Let’s gooooo
Luke, def get a lot of higher end security cameras and things on all ur boats and equipment and crab stand. Hidden cameras and motion sensors and air tags on items. Once one more person tries to vandalize or steal then no more bc of evidence.
I feel for you man, i hope everything starts to turn around for you. Just bought a long sleeve sun shirt to help support wish i could do more
dude u are a gosh darn good leader man keep it up so cool to see a good boss
Luke you need to keep a positive attitude coming from you about the Brand new boat. If you love it like a BNBoat then it will be. If you do that then positive energy will be all around you and it. I think that this is the way the good Lord made us and I want to pass that thought to you and your career. I enjoy watching you and your career!!!
Keep Plugging!
Best of Luck to you in building your crabbing business!
Congrats , sounds like lots of good stuff coming !
