both .52 gal and .96 gal is the phrase "RNG giveth and RNG taketh away" in the form of a gun and it's so fun
Fr, it can be the most deadly weapon in the game or just not hit at all. Thank god 52 and 96 deco have Wall to buy you some time as well as both of them having decent specials (52 could have a different one)
it feels like the .52 and .96 are like the hero of splatoon. you are putting your trust in a slot machine
Step 1: Let the rng hit the 2 shots
I love how you don't run ninja squid like most slayers do. makes it harder for you but you can use more swim speed instead

The only relivant skill for 52 is resetting rng. Just stop holding zr for 25 frames (why is that so short) and your next 2 shots will have perfect rng. After that continue holding zr until you want to ignore a balancing mechanic again.
How was this figured out? Was it just through trial and error?
And is there similar knowledge for other weapons?
@@captaincaption poking around old patch notes is one way, this was one of the waves of unnecessary shooter buffs that happened in 2 reducing this reset from 55 frames to 25 frames (for 52, overall just by 30 frames for each shooter). Startup rng is one of the more hidden skillful mechanics and applies to all the shooters causing their first shots to be more accurate with exceptions of; splash which just gets to cheat with no rng ever, and nova which is designed around having a consistent low spread at all times.

Don't know why people talk about it more. Maybe that's why it's a "hidden" skillful mechanic.
Honestly though this is the kind of stuff that should be shared more.

Awesome video, I've been waiting for the 52 in this series! Something else I would have loved to get a better understanding of is how you ink manage using your wall for engagements, when it consumes so much of your tank.

Splatoon is probably the only game where an RNG gun is actually a good time! You get moments where you feel like you are amazing at the game; you get an excuse when you can’t close an easy kill!
i used 52 gal with respawn punisher during splatfest
it was the most fun i had since 96 gal deco dropped

The .52 and the .96 are my pessimism.
I get high hopes for it hitting shots and then it FUCKING DOESN'T.
Another thing I get with 52 (never .96) is sometimes it kills the wrong dude. Like I am dueling the splattershot and I accidentally kill the roller.

Step one: hold down ZR
Step two: Press R every once in a while
Step 3: win lol
