I mean, Missouri was not a directional school from a mid-major conference, they were a team that played hard and physical (or even downright dirty) against Nebraska and were coached by former Husker player and assistant coach under Bob Devaney, Warren Powers. I was told by my parents, although I can't verify this for sure (and Warren's dead so good luck asking him) that he was a little bitter about not getting a shot at the head coaching job at his alma mater.
