My best friend is the one who got me into KPop in the beginning, and when Taeyeon released Dear Me, I showed it to him and he fell in love with it. The mv of “What do i call you” is actually inspired by a 2004 movie called “Eternal sunshine of spotless mind” which the character is undergo procedure to try to erase the memories of the past lover following the breakup. The movie is such a classic.
Haha, Taeyeon keeps challenging herself with various music styles and concepts so you do need to see her from different angles to really get to know her. She brings something new to her music and style every year.
Taeyeon is a HUGE Introvert. All of the scenes in The Weekend when she is completely alone with nobody to pester her would be a type of Heaven for her and for every other Introvert on Earth (unless they are like Moonbyul and somehow keep switching back-and-forth between 'E' and 'I'). When she had the entire Shopping Mall to herself and all the time in the world to enjoy herself, just doing whatever struck her fancy in the moment, that's definitely Heaven. I love that for her and I can easily identify with that attitude. I am an Introvert and used to be PAINFULLY shy, like I would feel a sort of stinging burn in my belly (not to the point of nausea) while just trying to speak up and be heard; I struggled for years with making my voice loud enough in conversation without resorting to shouting and often my opinions would be completely ignored simply because I had no ability to be forceful at all. There were multiple occasions, not just in my childhood, when people completely forgot that I was even in the same room with them because I would not talk for HOURS on end, just sit and watch and listen to things. There were a couple of times my Christmas gifts had spoilers just because I was sitting there when they were being discussed... lol. This is just one more reason to LOVE Taeyeon. She has one of the most 'Out-There' jobs in history, literally being a World-Famous Idol, the Leader of one of the Top-Selling, Most Famous groups in the entire world, but she is SO shy! It shows that people can manage to do GREAT things if they give it their all. I have no doubt that she struggled with being an Introvert while simultaneously being an On-Camera personality in the Entertainment industry, no way that was easy for her but she did it. That's just one of her struggles. Another struggle is that she is so tiny, easy to get pushed around and not a lot she could do to prevent that. She got bullied a lot even as an adult in the industry. THEN, SOMEHOW, SOME WAY, she ended up as the Leader of Girls Generation AND STILL got bullied! From 2015, there was a British girl who reacted to Taeyeon's solo debut and she CRIED for Taeyeon when she smiled in the MV, because the reactor knew about a lot of Tae's struggles. That reaction video is how I stumbled across Taeyeon and with that, K-Pop. :)

What Do I Call You is actually the album that got me into taeyeon, apart from blackpink i was never into any kpop music. for some random reason i decided to check out the What Do I Call You mv which changed my LIFE.

- 'Happy' is actually a sad song to Taeyeon because she had to delay its releasing day due to her father's funeral.
- 'Weekend' was released on Tuesday so that the hashtag #Tuesdayisweekend was really a funny meme on the internet back then.
