    "You shouldn't be watering on a schedule
    You should just be watering when your plant needs it"
    Exactly!! 👏🏽👏🏽

    Hey, just a heads up to you but I have no humidity in my home and our general area in BC is very dry so, I wanted to find an economical solution. I found portable mini humidifiers. The ones I have work great and can be spot placed, as I have mine keeping my monstera happy. 🇨🇦

      These get really large if you give them a board or plank (rather than a moss pole) to attach to. Search for "plank trellis" or "board trellis" and you will see how to encourage the aerial roots to fasten to the wood. Once you do that, and if you give it medium light, the new leaves will be larger, and eventually twice or thrice the size of the ones you have now. Wishing you success!

    I have one that has been very neglected by my wife and she is thinking she can save it. She was worried when you mentioned that you had one that was very root bound and it didn't make it. Should she just start over and not even bother with the mother plants? There were about 4 vines in a 8 inch pot.

    • @tekla5487
      @tekla5487 Год назад +5

      @@giggalz I later found out that "crying" isn't really a sign of overwatering but rather a way in which the plant reacts if there's too much humidity in the air. So it's a mistake to avoid watering it if it "cries"...

      You can also try giving it support like a moss pole instead of letting it trail. That can help it grow bigger leaves, because in nature they grow up trees.

    • @SproutsandStems
      @SproutsandStems  2 года назад +2

      You can propagate some cuttings and stick them back in the pot, or do some pruning to encourage growth. But if it literally is one vine you may just want to buy a larger plant 😂

    • @Munu1970
      @Munu1970 2 года назад +1

      propagate..its simple literally

    • @hokeypokeypots
      @hokeypokeypots 2 года назад +11

      I had one cutting that I rooted and planted, so it grew long, but the top of the pot was really bare.
      What I did was take the long vine and curl it on the soil in the pot and pin it down to the soil with plastic-coated wire in several places where the nodes were.
      After a while, the nodes that were in contact with the soil rooted and I was able to cut them off from the main vine and have them grow on their own.
      It's a lot easier to do this than to take cuttings and try to root them in water...and my success rate was 100%.
