- YO WHATS UP!
I decided to do a sew-along for our Simplicity Jumpsuit 8615. When we first released the pattern I only did the sew-along for the overalls and I wanted to have them both available to help everyone.
If you want to make it for women or just have a more modern look click the link below for easy modifications step-by-step video with my baby MIMI G.

My mom taught me to sew on an old treadle machine in 1971. I have never followed a sewing tutorial before, but you are fantastic! You are showing me better ways to do things after so many years of sewing. Thank you thank you!
This is the most informative sewing tutorial I've ever seen. If you don't already, you should definitely teach a class on sewing.
Ilovekiroro we have a online sewing school where we teach students starting from the beginning and now we’re teaching them how to make suits, jackets, etc. We have a free trial...sign up! sewitacademy.com
@@NorrisDantaFord can I still apply for the sewing school
I was in high school, 10th grade when this pattern was originally released. I had discovered a love for sewing a year before. I can remember students sitting on the front steps of the school before school began. I also remember all eyes on me as I walked up those steps in my dark denim jumpsuit with the gold topstichting that I worked on everyday after school. I was so proud of my work. There were of course haters ,but also admirers. I would love to revisit this pattern with the skills I have acquired over the years. Would probably do it in Camouflage now.
Mr. Smith, one of the rules of Fashion is if they hate it, they're more than likely jealous.
John Smith, did you ever get around to making your camouflage jumpsuit?
@@keytone62 No not yet, taking a trip up to MOOD NY in a couple weeks. Will look then for the fabric.
@@JohnSmith-qj6bj im currently about to make this in tweed! your commet is very inspiring
@@christianwang1545 Sounds like a winner, and thank you.
So I made this pattern and just finished it. This was my first bigger sewing project and I really enjoyed it! Allthough it took me several days to finish it, from cutting the right size and sewing and all the details. Thank you so much for the instructions! I will post on instagram later when its complete. This is not a simple pattern, so I dont recommend this if this is your first time sewing. I found it extremly difficult to surge withouth a surger, so i will definetly try to buy that for the next time. For the jumpsuit to look and feel professional, a surger just does it so much better. Definetly going to do this another time.
I got this pattern for my birthday and i would've been completely clueless without this video! Thanks for making your sew-alongs so informative and easy to follow :) I'm making a multicoloured version of this for Brighton Pride and i cant wait to finish it!
Great sew-a-long. Love the double rows of top stitching! Now to watch Mimi's and also your overalls sew-a-long.
I tried to sew with the instructions given with the pattern and I was so lost. Halfway through it I found your video AND YOU SAVED IT ALL!! Thank you
I enjoyed watching your tutorial. You explained how to sew the garment quite well -- with your explanation I should be able to complete it without too much difficultly. I look forward to any other tutorials that you wish to share.
Guys, this beautiful people have their own cool school for sewing ( for those who didn't know)!!!
I'm right now working on one of my projects and their classes are super helpful, outantic and just the best.
We should support hardworking people like this, join their school Goddammit 🤣🤣!!
P.s. This is NOT an advertising, but I just in LOVE 😍 with Sew it Academy...
Cleanest tutorial on youtube. Thank you Norris hitting that class immediately.
Love this tutorial, it so easy to follow. Well done!
Fantastic video!! Exactly what I was looking for and so informative! Thank you!
Thank you so much for making this! I’m making this jumpsuit for my fiancé. I was really stuck on the zipper for the left side and this really helped
Awesome tutorial, thanks so much for sharing your knowledge
I’ve made both now, they look brilliant. Thank you
Wet? Really?
You are literally saving my life right now. Trying to sew an Elvis replica costume using this pattern and those instructions had me super confused. Thanks for making it super easy! I appreciate you.
I love your videos and tutorials. Would love to see a video of more of your DIYs like the tan bomber jacket tracksuit.
I really enjoyed watching that :-) As per usual you have given inspiration for those that wish to have a go at making this garment. I love the colour you have made this in, and the style is really flattering. This does look a little advanced for beginners, but you have explained this pretty well for those to be able to sew along with you. Excellent job again! Blessings to you Norris :-)
I've been watching Mimi for a while but it's the first time I'm seeing one of your videos. I love it already! Subscribe.. :)
Wonderful video! You are very easy to follow...thank you!
Oh my goodness this is a spicy tutorial. Brb, subbing.
This is so helpful!! Thank youuuuu
Stellar work man!!
Your tutorial was amazingly detailed and quite helpful. I followed it step by step and created a beautiful blue twill flight jumpsuit with NASA emblems and space design fabric for the collar, pickets, and belt. I'm looking forward to browsing your other videos.
Wow that’s amazing Randy! Just made my day. Are you on Instagram and do you have pictures? I would love to share your work on my @dopemensew page!
@@NorrisDantaFord randygorr26 is my IG. Ask to be added and I'll add you back as well.
@@NorrisDantaFord I definitely am planning on trying some of your other tutorials. I find great bargains on fabrics or items at Salvation Army that I can upcycle. I really want to try the men's suit jacket and maybe pleated pants using a white brocade tablecloth and some white or red satin for the jacket lining.
Hmm I like this video I'm going to check it out a little later today I love overalls!
I needed a vintage jumpsuit for my husband. Didn’t know this pattern existed or that there was a tutorial or that you’re MimiG’s husband. I can’t wait to get this pattern! Such a great video. Great instructor! What is your fabric?
I did the sew along with you on both the jumpsuit and the overall, but with jumpsuit you never say where to put the hook n eye......but I love them.....pics to come
Nice job Norris, very well explained. How long have you been sewing ?

Hi , if i wanted to sew a 2 piece boiler suit, where would i seperate from?
Hi! I love this pattern so much I want to make myself a pair,, but unsure on what size i should make to fit a woman's body.. I am a usually a size 16 in jeans. thank you, SO its the overalls i want to make not the Jumpsuit. I saw the video on how to modify the jumpsuit, great job. But I love overalls and want to know what men's size i should pick to make for me. I was thinking the 42 0r 44 should work,,,
Do we need to make 1.5 inch assurance on our own or is it already included in the pattern?
Great job. Pls can you take us through the process of cutting one of these? That'll be really appreciated.
THANK YOU!! ♥️
how did you get your pattern on the tracing paper?? so that you cut out the pieces that you need?
Norris Dante Ford you are my hero.
This is awesome!
Anyone modify this to not do patch pockets but a more traditional pants pocket?
This is very good! I love its. But I need your down pokect measurements please
Super Great tutorial Norris! Thank you! I have subscribed! Found you thru MiMi G's vlogs! You used a perfect fabric too! Is this a bottom weight twill or cotton broadcloth for this jumpsuit! Thank you!
I just saw that you mention it stretches. So it is a knit and not woven....
What kind of fabric did you use for this jumpsuit ?
This guide is so helpful but i’m so stupid and getting so frustrated because i’m not understanding what you’re doing w the left side of the zipper ;( gonna try again tm! thanks for the guide though it genuinely is helpful
