Okay, here goes a pretty deep in explanation of this show, if you don't mind like, super minor spoilers. Black Clover is set in a world in where everyone is born with magical abilities. The story centers around our protagonist, Asta, and his childhood friend, Yuno, who were raised in an orphanage simce they were babies. At the age of 3, when most children start to show signs of their affinity of magic, Asta shows none. In fact, our protagonist is the only person in the entire world that has no magic power. At the age of 15, people receive their grimoires, books that enhance one's magical powers, Asta gets none (just for you to know, each grimoire chooses it's owner, not the other way around). Asta, however finds a mysterious grimoire, that contains a sword than can negate magic. (Yes, the sword comes out from inside the pages of the book). Asta and Yuno become rivals, racing each other to becaome the Wizard King, the most powerful mage of his country. Mages are divides into squads, and yeah, the bird is important.
Cryokinesis it was actually weak magic, magic of even a peasant, that was his discriminatory backstory, asta is still the only one known without actual mana.

Dude Black Clover is top notch. Asta (main character) can be a bit annoying at first but he really grows on you. A few things. Yes, there are Elfs in the show, but what you called an elf is actually a Fairy. To answer your questions. The skull is a demon skull, you see, long ago, a Demon broke lose and almost destroys the Clover Kingdom, but a Mage killed it, he was the First Wizard King and he became legend. Now, Asta aspires to be that exact thing, along with his adopted brother and rival Juno (the dude with black hair). The books are called Grimoires and everybody has one to call upon thier natural magic abilities since practicall everybody has magic in this world. The bird is a fictional species in the series that it's attracted to where's less magic, and it becames a sort of pet for Asta since he has no magic (in a world where magic is everything). Her name is Nero and [spoilers]. Asta btw, yeah has no magic, but thanks to that he can call upon and use the Black Clover grimoire, which contains anti-magic swords. All this is base level information btw, there's a lot to dig in the series, you should check it out.
The thing I like is that Asta and Yuno can still hold a conversation without wanting to fight each other. After seeing too many Naruto, Sasuke rivalries, this feels more normal to me. like this is the dynamic I waited for. This is only one of the many things that make this series so good. This is a definite recommendation for me.

The huge energy being you see is astas power(the protagonist of the show),asta has no magic but everyone else does. In the other hand asta has demon power that he’s able to tap into and use to nullify anyone’s magic no matter how strong it is.
The Brooks are grimoires which they use to cast spells and stuff and it’s hard to believe but somewhere after episode 100 the bird becomes insanely important
About the wedding, that's pretty tragic. There we see an Elf and a Human princess getting married many years before the series takes place. Well the royals of the Clover Kingdom are afraid of the Elves and their powers, so they seal their power and kill them all, causing all of the events currently in the series as a revenge against the humans by the Elves. The head Elf and the one getting married was Licht who casted a reincarnation spell (more on that but I won't spoil) and many years later reincarned some to eventually revive them all to inact their revenge. The BIG SKULL we see is the Demon form of Licht when he sees his wife murdered and the Humans betraying them, it was caused by DESPAIR and only happens to elves. He is eventually slain by the First Wizard King who stands on top as a statue on the skull. Its all connected in all of the arcs and its very interesting. You should watch it!!!
Trust me. This show legit the best shounen series rn especially Manga. It even surpassed my hero academia and one piece in term of storytelling. Don't miss it out!!!!!

Unfortunately Studio Pierrot (The one who animates this anime) think that Boruto and it's infinite filler work is worth a bigger budget because it a sequel to "Boruto's dad" while in reality people dropping the anime and moving to Black Clover.
Ok, if you're gonna watch it a few things you should know so you dont get turned off before it gets good. First unlike most of the current top tier Shonen Jump based animes Black Clover is a weekly show, like Naruto was. So it has many of the same issues in regards to consistent animation quality, though the amount of filler is shockingly low thank god. Second the MC's V.A., this is his first major role so it takes a few episodes before he goes from yodeling screams to merely being loud. Third there are pacing issues at times, not sure if that's due to trying to fit differing sized manga chapters into a typical 22 to 23 minute episode or if its because Studio Pierrot is the King of Filler.
