German "buchteln": yeast jam-filled donut DOES THIS RECIPE WORK??

  • 500 grams flour
    75 grams sugar
    1 package instant yeast
    pinch of salt
    1 egg
    200ml milk
    75 grams butter
    1 package vanilla sugar
    50 grams melted butter
    jam of choice
    -heat milk and melt the butter in the milk: let stand until it reaches room temperature
    -mix in egg
    -mix in dry ingredients and knead well
    -let rise one hour
    -divide into 9-12, fill and roll into balls
    -place in buttered dish and let rise another 20 minutes
    -cover with 50 grams melted butter
    bake at 350 for 25 minutes

    in Philippines, we have the same recipe... a one called pandecoco same procedure but different filling....
