What ive gotten from this is Mack Hollins is an underrated blocking receiver. People really dont think about the receiver needing to block, but if you can't you aren't gonna get as many snaps.
I imagine that's probably the biggest reason Arthur Smith signed him in Atlanta. Legit looking for them to be running the triple option by the end of this year.
@@zackhurwitz9441 Lol came to this comment to say the SAME thing... Line up Mack, Drake, Pitts and Jonnu, with Bijan and CP in the backfield... How would defenses ever know if it's a run or a pass?? Lol... Both receivers and TE's can block (or run routes of course) and both RB's can skidattle (or run routes)... Defenses will have a REALLY difficult time figuring out what we're trying to do...
I see the vision for what Arthur Smith wants to do, and I think this could be one of the most effective implementations of the West Coast "Shanihan" systems in the league this year. We'll see how Ridder does in Year 2.
@@zacharymontgomery474 Bijon= CMC Patterson= Deebo Pitts= Kittle Smith, Hollins= Juan Jennings, lazzard London= Ayuk That's the way I see it, but full disclosure, I wasn't a fan of the Bijon Robinson pick. He's a great prospect, but they didn't need help running the ball, they needed help along the defensive line, in another long term, impact pass rusher.
We were just talking about the death of the fullback, but there will always be a scheme that needs one. Would be an interesting video series, to examine the evolution of various positions.
NFL is cyclical. It became super pass heavy in the golden age of the qb but the run game is starting to gain popularity again. Defenses got smaller and faster to keep with the passing trend so it makes sense offenses are starting to take advantage of it by running the ball. Helps keep the qb's upright too.
The fullback technically never died in certain offenses. Kyle Shanahan's wide zone needs a full back to be able to go into different looks and gash defenses on the run game. Even better because he also has a tight end that can line up in the backfield *and* his fullback is a decent receiver. McVay does away with a fullback because he's got receivers who are run blockers. Oh and Mike McDaniel's speed demon offense also utilizes a fullback in his run game. If anything the RB that can't pass block or catch loses value in those 3rd and long passing downs.
@@t4d0W All 3 of those offenses are just different variations of the wide zone. Mcvay and Shanahan both cut their teeth under Mike Shanahan and McDaniel learned from Kyle Shanahan. Packers use an h-back too and Matt Lafleur learned under Mike Shanahan in Washington and Gary Kubiak in Houston. Another variation of the wide zone. Best coaching tree in football atm.
JJ is a monster he really brings that personality to the team. Even tho he isn’t loud with his words his play says it all. Honestly there only a couple rb who will dead ass go heads up with you and run you over. People don’t want to tackle him because of that and I wouldn’t either. He always get to the second level and then corners and safety’s don’t wana play the run game with him. Pay that mannnnnnnnnnnnn
Please do a break down on how Doug took the man who looked like a bust to arguably top 5 QB, Trevor Lawrence. Also I really want a Jacksonville jaguars video you said your self nobody talks about us please
LOL what do you mean? Jags got a bunch of buzz with that playoff game vs the Chargers and Lawrence's historic 4 INT into 4 TDs in the 2nd half comeback to win. Plus they didn't look weak against the Chiefs either. Dougie P is the truth and so is Trevor.
08:34 "The only question" really is...how long will the Raiders pay him to do this for them? My guess, as a long-time Raider fan, is JJ will be wearing a different uniform next season. McDaniels did not create this running scheme for JJ either, Gruden was already using him exactly the same way. I truly JJ will eventually be a HoFer when he all done - whether he goes in as a Raider or not will be another question.
If you wanna see pure dominance, watch the Chiefs game vs the Packers in 2021. He absolutely destroyed my Packers. Singlehandedly won that game for them.
@@williamhermann6635 I’m a chiefs fan I watched that game outside of Aaron Donald he’s been the best DT in football for half a decade now and nobody talks about it😂
LOL its been that way even as Staley keeps getting subjectively 'better' talent. He let the Texans of all teams win 2 years ago by letting Rex Burkhead have a career day with 100+ rushing yards.
You want your channel to grow faster? Put up more content featuring the raiders! Us raiders fans eat this typa shit up! I've seen channels blow up because they started covering the raiders more. We are hungry for content with our team! Just a thought. Keep up the good work. Loved your more recent video about the modern defenses smothering offenses as well. Well done my guy!
Is it my headphones or did you get a new mic? You sound louder than i am accustomed to. New vids are always good to see from the british american alliance that is thinking football.

Trevor never looked like a bust, Urban Meyer looked like a bad coach. One mediocre year for a bad team does not a bust make

Do Chris Jones next PLEASE

some third and short he can not get a yard not consistent dependable running back
