I was most unimpressed when I saw this show at 15 years old - but then I was into prog-rock. Looking at it now I can see that they had made a tremendous effort to present this visually and they were also really well rehearsed, so, yes, they deserved their future success.
We had the best of the best in the 1970's. What a decade and a music era to be a teenager. Grew up sounds of the 60's, then we had 70' & 80's. Probably the best 3 decades for music! #Glamrock
I remember them appearing on New Faces and Wow what a band back then enjoyed going to see them live and saw them manay times in Sheffield and met them a couple of times loved them
Still going to some concerts seen them in leamington in may 24 and western supermare august24 fantastic my brother met some of the band on central news and was given buddy gasks teddy suit great band great memories the duncan family from.lesmington spa
@@bobwallacejnr6852 strange how total strangers should want to accuse others of being liars. I watched New Faces and I remember how Noel Gordon gave them an award, not sure what, on one show. Now, go away and be an irritating little man elsewhere.
Back in the olden days I was in a band which did covers. We played a lot of social clubs, some with a proper stage, and some where we'd just set up on the edge of the dancefloor. The 'edge of the dancefloor' ones would often put their disco lights on, and it was just like that!
It's so comical how British rock 'n' rollers always affected a poor American accent for some reason, just as Dave Bartram did here when doing the spoken bit.
Had you ever asked the late great Lemmy Kilminster, he'd have done three things. First have said to you, “Are you drinking?” “You are? Well I'll have a pint with you then” Secondly, he would have regaled you with rock and roll stories until you couldn't have to drunk any more. Thirdly, having extolled the virtues of the legendary Showaddywaddy, and how much metal and classic rock owe to bands like these, the reality is, that Lem would have looked over the at my good self and I would have given the nod to even numbers, so you cannot even say anything about being outnumbered. So what is happened next? The disparagers were given a brutal beating. They never came back to our club house for a friendly game of Scrabble again. OTFRAPML 😂😂

Brilliant performance by Showaddywaddy in their beginning
Saw Showaddywaddy two years ago. The only original member was the drummer but they were still great.

no you dont
Agreed 🎉
What a cheerful backdrop.
Thank christ they got better!!
They were pretty shite at this time to be honest.
Fantastic, come on people 46 K views and only 39 subs....hit that sub button :-)
Thank you
I never knew they had 2 drummers.
8 guys. 2 drummers (Romeo & Malc), 2 singers (Dave & Buddy) , 2 guitar (Russ & Trevor) , 2 bassists (Rod & Al). Think it was unique
They were once two separate bands , then joined together, hence two of everything
The Choice and The Hammers
The Glitter Band also had 2 drummers
@@carnalea2424 Adam & The Ants too
Wow, the lighting engineer here must have been 5 or 6 years old.

The sound engineer wasn't too hot either! I saw Showaddywaddy live in 1974 and what you are hearing here does not do them justice.
You wanna try and switch two touches on and off for 5 mins 😂

2 drummers! A not unknown thing at the time, don’t know why!
Is Bev in the audience?
Another great group was Shakin Stevens and The Sunsets.
14 years old and a lead singer.... 😳.
TheX factor of the time
No they have talent.
Cheezy rock & Roll
Odd, but this is not the music for me, still, i like the sense of fun!
Micsoda haj! 😊
Hardly punk rock is it
Pub/Butlins band
Shit me,Dave looks like more like a Mortician here, thank god he put a little more weight on his face and dropped the shades!
Was the lighting director Stevie Wonder?
they may have been rock and roll enthusiasts but they were not in the same league as rockpile or matchbox,, or even the darts ffs,,
Give over they had over 20 top 10 hits .matchbox had 2
Not even on the same planet.
A pony tail what's different

Dave, get a haircut mate!
Showallywally more like. Fake Teds.
Try went on to be quite good, this is awful
They were a joke, an outdated image and crap songs IMO, they couldn't play live!
When an airline pilot descends too quickly the plane shouts a word out,you are what the plane says
You're the joke - they've done over 4,000 live gigs. Do your homework - and get back to watching Kylie......
