About Sampurna Ratri Utsav:
Komal Nishad organizes Sampurna Ratri Utsav frequently. This Utsav showcases four artists. The performances start at about 8 pm and go on through the night till about 7 am. We generally start off with evening raagas, transition beautifully into the midnight raagas and then end with raagas generally performed at dawn, celebrating the rising of the sun.

600 yrs. ago Mia Tansen created
this immortal Raga where pathos
soaked into calmness for a moment
culling the immortal longing to create the "Poetic Faith". In this
Raga solitude is painted in "Singing"
stripping off the "Words" but
couched in the repertoire of "String
Of Violin" by Dr.Nagam. Here lies

A little about this upload - when we started this channel, we thought that the RUclips audience would enjoy only the drut parts, or smaller videos, hence some of our initial uploads were only the drut parts. When we were preparing this particular video, we felt it would be "criminal" to not upload the full video and edit the vilambit part out. This was perhaps the first video we uploaded in full, and the feedback we got made us understand that we have a RUclips audience also who enjoy the full concerts. Now we do not edit any parts out and upload full concerts.
@@KomalNishadClassicalMusic yes yes and yes. The whole experience must be had! The long form is the way to go. Look at the success of Joe Rogan and his podcast. The interviews are 3 hours long. Consider TV and the 2 min interviews with quick sound bites to emotionally trigger audiences.
Instead you have made the right decision. Preset the whole thing. Let serious listeners who are no in a rush for Quick gimmicks relax and enjoy. I am eternally grateful for your sharing. 🙏🏾

@@KomalNishadClassicalMusic She is 82 and looks hardly 50 that's her poise and elegance. Rajam-ji is just her music. The swara keep linegring long after she has moved to another. Divine bowing!
Like her there were others like M s Subbalakshmi, D K Pattammal, M L Vasantha Kumar, Semmagudi Srinivasa Iyer, Chembai Vadyanada Bhavadar and many more such simple and ordinary life living people who have lived in south India and in carnatic music. Ms N Rajam is the sister of late T N Krishnan, who was a great violinist. In the case of music and musical knowledge you will find many South Indian Carnatic musician crossing the South Indian border and acquire musical knowledge of others. Ms Arun sairam and Ms Ranjani Gayatri sisters are few examples of the present. But for me it is painful to know that there is no Hindustani musicians of North who can sing carnatic music of South India. Since music does not have boundary Hindustani musicians should explore carnatic music also. They should come out from their static position.
Madam should get Padma award definitely certainly May God bless her,we Hope,we pray for giving her best award for contribution in harmony peace and tranquility

Absolutely agree. When we started Komal Nishad's channel, we werent sure if we should upload the vilambit parts of the concerts. But when we were editing this particular concert, we just couldn't cut the vilambit part off; it would've been a sin and this became the first concert where we uploaded the vilambit part. After that, we changed our format to put the full concerts without edits.

The way in which the mike stand and mike is placed is sickening. There are so many simpler stands and mikes today to suit the dais. The legend is obstructed. A suitable shorter stand might have been good.
