Just a correction: When we were talking about Wembley Stadium, we were actually looking at the new Tottenham Hotspur Stadium which is the one they will play in next year. Sorry about that!
FYI guys Anfield has been around since 1884 when Everton was playing there, the owner of Anfield and Everton had a falling out which led Everton to their home Goodison Park and it also meant that the owner of Anfield John Houlding then formed Liverpool FC in 1892. For along time the capacity was 45,362 with the new upgrade giving an additional 8000+ seats.
There is also the fact that both Stadiums are separated by Stanley Park. Named after the guy who donated a certain little challenge cup a long time ago.
William Davidsen yeah, the pictures are about their new stadium currently under construction, called White Hart Lane (as was their old stadium thats being demolished) Tottenham are currently playing on Wembley Stadium that seats those 90,000. You can search pictures on that name if you’re interested!
William Davidsen can you name which British football team has the unique distinction of being the only club whose name contains the first 5 letters of the alphabet ?(A,B,C,D and E)
Good job fellas. Very interesting hearing this from Canadians (or anyone outside of Europe for that matter). I know a lot about football stadiums but little about NFL or NHL stadiums so I imagine it's the same for you but the other way around. Nice.
Fun fact about vicarage Road stadium: Two of the the stands, the east and the west, are named after two people that played a lot of impact in Watford’s history. Sir Graham Taylor And Sir Elton John
As a Man United fan I`ve already been watching football (soccer) game at Old Trafford three times (vs Bolton, Arsenal and Liverpool) and I must say it was fantastic experience every time! The atmosphere is what is all about. So the next thing on my "to do list" is to come to USA/Canada for an NHL game. Canadiens fan from Slovenia (hope Kopitar won`t be mad :)). Maybe you guys can do one show/podcast about how to get hockey tickets if you are from abroad and what are the prices. I suppose you have some experience with that. Just to get some rough feeling.
Great video - really interesting to hear how our football stadiums are viewed - Brent's comments about protecting the fans from each other made me laugh! Love post2post, keep up the good work. Come on you Irons!
Really interesting to see you cover the "proper" football. Brighton & Hove Albion's stadium is basically the reason why they are now playing in the Premier League(top league). The additional revenue from non match day usage helped Brighton have one of the best budgets and squads in the championship(second division). Brighton & Hove Albion very nearly went out of business a few years ago, they had to play in a town 70 miles away because the owners had to sell the ground to try and pay off some of the debts, but we're doing so with no other plans for where the team would play once the ground was sold. I'mIn 1997 a young fan from my local team(Plymouth Argyle) came up with the idea of what he called "fans united", the idea was that football fans around the country would unite together and go to watch Brighton & Hove Albion home match vs Hartlepool United in February 1997. Around 5,000 fans from teams throughout England and Wales attended to show solidarity with the Brighton & Hove Albion fans protests against the action of the board. Needless to say, Brighton & Hove Albion were able to turn things around and are now playing in the Premier league(top division). Final point of note, in 2011 my local team Plymouth Argyle found themselves in the same perilous position that Brighton & Hove Albion had found themselves in 17 years previously. Without hesitation Brighton & Hove Albion fans began organising what would be called "fans reunited" and this time fans would be attending a match at Plymouths ground Home Park. On the day several thousand Brighton & Hove Albion fans as well as thousands of fans from throughout England and Wales attended the game against Macclesfield Town. Brighton & Hove Albion fans then went above and beyond by organising what they called "go green" day where fans attending their televised game vs Leeds United wore green shirts(green is Plymouth Argyle's home colour) to show solidarity with the plight that Plymouth Argyle and the supporters going through, many staff members had been sacked, players went several months without being played and the money raised by Brigthton & Hove Albion fans at this game helped ensure that the Plymouth Argyle players could be paid some of their wages, which ultimately stopped the club going out of business. For that reason alone I have a soft spot for Brighton & Hove Albion fans now and really hope they stay in the Premier League for many seasons to come :)
I’m a bournemouth fan that lives in southampton , I was wondering if you could do a video on the 2nd division stadiums they are older and have more character , think you will be interested in them, thanks for the great video
West Ham isn’t going back to their old stadium at Upton Park, which is unfortunate because the team is playing in the Barclays Center of the Premier League. The London Stadium’s running track makes it so that the fans are far away from the field.
I visited Emirates Stadium last month to watch Arsenal beat Tottenham. I'm from the US so I had no knowledge of what was going on and I always kind of hated soccer (being a hockey fan), but let me say that the atmosphere at the game was incredible. I have a video on my channel from that whole experience, including all of the fan chants, and you should really check it out.
BryGuySH ironic since Arsenal are derided for their lack of atmosphere at that stadium, but you saw the North London Derby, so these two teams are local rivals who hate each other, so presumably the atmosphere would be amped up!
People do drive to matches but it is a lot more common for people to take public transport over here, hence the lack of parking compared to NFL stadiums
Hi I'm a brighton and hove albion fan. The bird seats are supposed be are logo which is our logo which is a seagulls if you wandering. It's a beautiful stadium when the sun sets💙💙
Ok ok ok, you got a picture of the Spurs stadium, which they will play in next year, its heing built. Then you call ot Wembley stadium, which is not the name of the stadium in the image, but it is where they play now
This stadium is also a NFL stadium. They have 2 pitches, the NFL pitch is underneath the Football pitch. And a extra peace of info: This will be The Las Vegas Raiders home ground until their new stadium is finished. This pitch seats 62.062 and has the largest single-tear stand in England(south-stand) which has a capacity of 17.500.
Also a fun fact:The stadium of Everton,Goodison Park,is approximately a mile away from Anfield, the Liverpool stadium. The two are arch rivals, though Manchester United fans(like me) could argue that Man United vs Liverpool are a huge rivalry.GLORY GLORY MAN UNITED Edited:Also in Old Trafford you can find a statue of the three greatest historic United players:Bobby Charlton,Denis Law,and George Best.
Many teams' stadium is undergoing, for example, Anfield and Etihad stadium as well as Bet365 stadium all expanded there stand, and Stanford bridge's under construction. West Ham hires London Bowl for 99 yrs after they gave up their old Upton park. Hotspur gonna stay at the Wembley before there new stadium (New white hart lane) completes
Would have been interesting to hear your thoughts on the plans for a new Stamford Bridge. A unique take on a modern football stadium, far from the norm.
Hey is it possible that you watch some german Bundesliga stadiums. These are sold out every game and there is the best atmosphere. I love hockey but i love football too 🤙🏻
Quick point. You showed Tottenham's new stadium that they are building right now. Wembley is where they play currently but they will move to the new stadium you showed (hence the pictures not being of a real building that has been built)
Yes. The stadium that Tottenham Hotspur play in is their brand new stadium. You said it was Wembley Stadium and it isn't. Also you mentioned Brighton and Hove Albion and the birds. Well Brighton's nickname is the Seagulls, they are the birds you can see on the seats.
Im a newcastle fan.....The reason the Newcastle stadium looks so odd is because the surrounding buildings are listed. Which means they can t be altered in any way....therefore the stadium is as big as it can go on them sides......
0:52 then i would reccomend watching a few games ;) that is really uncommon and such behaviour is quiet rare - but of course there are some tougher and some not so tough guys, but i would say that goes along with every sport
Well technically Leicester didn't win the league the year after they got promoted. There was one season in between where they were bottom of the Premier league for so long and just barely survived in the last couple of weeks. The season after that was when they won the whole thing. :)
Well, technically, they did. They got promoted from the Championship in 2013/14. Had a great escape in 2014/15, sacked Nigel Pearson after it and employed Claudio Ranieri. They won in Ranieri’s first season.
MLS or Bundesliga stadiums when you have the time? Also, West Ham's not going back to their old stadium. Their old stadium was demolished to make way for new development. Tottenham is technically going back to their own ground next season but in a new stadium which will seat 61,559 and the stadium that once stood only held up to 36,284 (What you guys were looking at wasn't Wembley, lmao).
The photos you showed for Tottenham Hotspur is not Wembley Stadium. The photos you had were digitally made previews of a stadium currently under construction which will have a capacity of around 62000. Liverpool FC ground, Anfield, the place where the magic happens. If you talk to most football fans, worldwide, and ask which stadium gives a team the most advantage? The answer will be Anfield. So many impossible things have happened there. Most recently beating Barcelona by 4 goals to nil after losing away 3 goals to nil in the first leg of the semi final of the Champions League. Have a little search on RUclips. Search for Liverpool fans sing You'll Never Walk Alone. It's one of the greatest things in the world to hear the fans celebrating. Pink Floyd included the Kop (Liverpool fans) singing You'll Never Walk Alone at the end of their song Fearless. It's the greatest sound in football. It's the greatest sound in sport bar none.

A lot of comments and talk about the parking. Most stadiums in Europe do not have any parking. Some times a little bit but usually none. Most people take and train to games :)
