    Thanks for this. Mortals have gone largely ignored in this new release. Great deep dive.

    Great walkthrough mate. Nice to see a focus on the sometimes-obscure detail of Bloodbound rather than a laser focus on the ostensible "winners" in the book.

    Thank you for this extensive mortal review. As AoS Coach did his overview with demons, I was very happy to find your thoughts about Khorne.
    You overlooked two things:
    1.) Khorgos Khul`s Lord of the Goretide ability. It would be hilarious to just throw a huge horde of Bloodreavers at the opponent and just watch everyone die. Khorne would be most pleased.
    However, even without that rather meme-y action there are 1-2 rounds where the main fighting happens. Combining this ability with the Bloodsecrator seems pretty strong for a decisive round.
    2.) You overlooked the Khorgorath, as he is Bloodbound too. He`s like the Belgian Football team. Looks really good but won`t win you anything-at least on it`s own. On the plus side, he will heal for each killed opponent and prevent Inspiring Presence. And he did not even become more expensive.
    Another point that disapponted me about this book are the Skullreapers. They lost everything that made them good: Reroll hits and battleshock immunity. They did not get a replacement for their lost offensive power and battleshock immunity saved me several games because the opponent got stuck on a single Skullreaper. On top of that, they became more expensive.
    I compared them to Wrathmongers that cost 50 points less: Same offensive profile minus mortal wounds on 6s, but that`s an average of 3 wounds anyway, not that good, especially considering that Wrathmongers can deal mortal wounds as well and they buff their surrounding units. Moreover, Skullreapers have +1 armor and +1 Morale. Do you want that in an army that relies on destroyed units?
    The Skullreapers are somewhat redeemed by the fact that they can be battleline in Skullfiend Tribe (not that we do not have enough BL)and they can pretty easily get to 2+ to hit and wound. Yes, you might not care if they die. However, for these points you could have had 10 Bloodwarriors or 3 Skullcrushers (ok, +10 points) or 10 Bloodletters, which would certainly have been more useful.
    The whole design of this unit that was bad to start with was in no way improved, they still do not have a real niche. I hoped for them to become the Khorne Chosen - which they basically are. Bloodbound have no real hammers, so a good hammer would have been so important. Just another missed opportunity. Lazy design, overprized, mediocre in defense and offense.
    Ok, so much for my rant. If you have another opinion, I am glad to hear it, perhaps you can convince me take one of my favorite (regarding optics) unit again.

      Thanks Sascha good comments all, in relation to the skullreapers they look to have the exact same damage output unbuffed as blood letters right? I think it’s the books authors attempt at giving the mortals some sort of anti armour mortal would push but I’m not sure they have been successful.
      I am going to run them for a game or two and see how critical having those mortal wound 6’s are although I’m not convinced there isn’t a better choice at all.
      Khorgoraths are cool, no doubt, I havnt had the “spare” points to fit them in any of my lists yet. Everytime I have 110 add points left over to spend I always end up trying to jam one last hero into my list instead of the Khorgorath.
      I wish Scylla was a Hero Khorgorath….that would be sick!

    Exalted deathbringer is definitely a choice I really want to squeeze into my ranks. I think a lot of people will take the mistake of the ol' brass stampede but the issue as you mentioned is your going to struggle for blood tithe with low rend.
    I also use a korgotath instead of the Reaver's so I keep the unit full strength. The main issue of this army is rend, so chanting rend and goretide on contested objectives with blood warriors/buffs is how you really win games.
    Finally garreks Reaver's are a must take on par with wrathmongers with their +1 tithe function.
    Thanks for the videos keep em coming

    Small mistake on the Goretide:
    You get +1 to wound if you fight an enemy unit that is in enemy territory. So not YOUR unit has to be withing enemy territory but the OPPONENT'S unit. That makes it harder imo since any opponent that know this can just scoot one model over the line of their territory and now you don't get your bonus anymore.

      Thanks for the pickup mate! makes it easier to get it in my opinion!

      @Onk3lM0 Год назад +1

      @@DoomDarknessI'm not sure if it's easier. For an alpha charge surely it's easier. But after that the enemy unit can pile around and get out of their territory.

    100% right on the wrathmongers. The only way to use them it put them up front, basically as a screen. They're actually not bad at that, 15 wounds for 140 points isn't terrible and they generally kick back 3-4 mortals to whatever kills them. And if even 1 lives, you're going to have better luck getting a unit wholly w/in 8" of it than you would if you kept all 5 back behind your line.

      12 omg! That’s insane 😅 I don’t think they are very good, not the worst warscroll in the book either. It would certainly be a lot of fun to play them though!

    • @MartinTheMartian1
      @MartinTheMartian1 Год назад

      @@DoomDarkness You used to be able run them in multi-model units and the skullfiend tribe command trait was 'reroll hit and wound rolls for khorgoraths'. Seemed like a pretty powerful rule (to abuse). My thought on them currently is they're being slept on. They don't degrade when taking damage and they self heal. I think they could use a 10 pt reduction, at least. Thanks for the great army analysis vid!

      Lol wut I said he flys? Or I said khorne doesn’t have flying units so a model that can teleport/deep strike be resurrected around the board is super useful. Maybe I misspoke sorry 😢
