I’d definitely like to. The next one I do in this style will be on specialty planes but I’ve got a few other vids in the queue first. Thanks for tuning in!
Love your planes and the fact you have a plane from Michigan because you come from there. I have 2 Siegley and 1 Hahn plane from Wilkes Barre Pa where my father is from even though my main collection is Stanley US.
I've also got a couple of Siegley planes, my mothers father and grandfather were craftsmen from Trucksville. Those planes' original irons have been sharpened so many times, they're too short for the adjusters.
I’m thinking about grabbing a #7 Stanley jointer in the next few months so if one comes your way in a month or so give me a holler, love the #5 I got from you it’s getting plenty of love.
I think Michael Williams is correct. I believe I have seen an earlier Type, or two #5 1/4 before. I've always kind of been looking for them again since ? the last decade or so, it seems.
Not that I know of. Lie Nielsen makes bronze planes in the Bedrock style but as far as I know Stanley never did. Pattern makers have been known to make clones of the old Stanleys as a (typically one-off) project. Do you have one?
No I do not have one however I saw one this past Sunday. The person was trying to sell it. It looked old. It had made in the USA on the sole ahead of the tote. It had a stanley branded cap on it, a made in USA stanley iron. It was a 4 1/2. The entire thing was brass. It was very heavy. He wanted £150 for it. This was in the UK. I did not buy it, maybe I should have. The reason I did not was because I never heard of it before.
A Wolverine with a favorite Buckeye; not the first time I’ve seen that. I lived in Sylvan Lake for several years so there’s a few north of Toledo things I appreciate too. Great collection. Thanks for sharing.

Thanks! And just think, this isn’t even all of them 😂. I’ve only been at it for about 7 years or so. Definitely always looking for more Bailey Victors and Bailey Tool Co. planes
What was the point of this video? I watched hoping to hear some comparative evaluations, pros & cons, discussion of finer points of use & maintenance. You know, something a little ... informative. Instead, just empty-headed collecting nonsense. Why don't you sell these off so people who use tools can put them to woek?
Wow. Aren’t you just a ray of sunshine… Even though you’re taking a fairly rude approach to someone you don’t know, I’ll attempt to answer your questions. I’m slowly building a very small following here on RUclips. Been at it for about a year now. I’ve had numerous people ask me if I would show the group my collection so after thinking about it a while, this is the format I decided on. So I guess this video didn’t really do anything for you… thanks for watching anyway. Fortunately there have been a lot of other people who have enjoyed it 🤓 No one can please all the people, all the time. Had I made a longer video with comparing and contrasting the planes shown here, I would have gotten feedback that it was too long and/or boring. Now if you’re submitting a request for that video, I can see about working it in at some point. Finally, no I won’t be selling off my hand planes just because you don’t approve of my video, or my collection, or whatever else you don’t like. Bless your heart ❤️ JD Star. Bless your heart
What was the point of this comment? There are heaps of comparative evaluations floating around, and videos covering anything you could possibly want to know about maintaining and using a hand plane. Why should he sell off a collection of rarer antiques that he and others appreciate? There are literally millions of hand planes floating around if someone wants a user.
JD, You seem to assert that MJ is strictly collecting these. I would highly recommend you get to know MJ and his business Just Plane Fun. I say that because if you knew what he was about you would appreciate what he does to support all us hand tool users in addition to collectors. He uses his planes. He sells planes. He sells parts. So do yourself a favor and get to know the person you just criticized because he is what you are asking for but he also has a cool collection.
Excellent. Please do more of these.

I’m glad I’ve been able to help you get a few parts for some of those US made models. 😎

Thanks for sharing your fascinating "historical" collection! We learn so much from you (and get the parts we need). Keep up the good work!
Thanks for watching! I’m about due for another educational type video soon.
Nice collection and love the short form videos for topics like this. Keep it coming.
Thanks Laita!
Grate video. Nice top 10, but no sargent planes. Now I'm sargent guy but I do have and respect stanley planes.
Sargent made a good plane!
What an awesome collection. Thanks for sharing!
Glad you enjoyed it.

I believe we can make that happen. Just let me know when you’re ready
you need to add a veritas or two to your collection. they are the cadillac of modern hand planes
I have at least one of the minis and the small combination plane so that’s a start!
I think Michael Williams is correct. I believe I have seen an earlier Type, or two #5 1/4 before. I've always kind of been looking for them again since ? the last decade or so, it seems.
Hi, I have a question for you.
Did Stanley make a brass 4 1/2 hand plane?

I can be friends with an Ohioan 364 days out of the year. On game day, not so much 😉

Great collection. Thanks for sharing.
Truly a bed-wetting lineup……😅
I’m about due for an updated video. I’ve changed the lineup since this one came out.
@@justplanefun Remember…talls in back and shorts in front and no nudity due to Family Rated! 😜🤪😝🤭
I've got a type 1 2" iron
I’ll shoot you a message on Reddit
Damn. I collect RI tools. That plane must be super hard to find?
They’re a lot less common than Stanley Bailey bench planes but they’re out there. They come up on eBay some. And other online auctions occasionally
Fun video to watch. Thanks for sharing.
Thanks for watching!
Been waiting on that video. Great planes Great job
Thanks Bud! Glad ya liked it
Definitely love this daily upload schedule.
I don’t think I’ll be able to keep it up but I’ll see how long this lasts
Those are some awesome planes Michael!
Thanks! And just think, this isn’t even all of them 😂. I’ve only been at it for about 7 years or so. Definitely always looking for more Bailey Victors and Bailey Tool Co. planes
That was fun, thanks!
Thanks Bill!
Sweet collection, MJ!
Thank you sir!
