I was lucky enough to clean out a school woodshop and got a blue box tote full of Bedrock planes ! Lots of 605-605 1/2, 607&607s lots of fun cleaning them until and reselling them! Kept the 607 as a display piece!!
I saw the new hunks of wood you just got in. Looks like some fun stuff to work with. We gotta get you to 1000 subs. Hey everyone - check out Gordon Addison here on RUclips!
It’s always a good day when you share some of your hard earned plane knowledge. I hope you and your family have a great Christmas! Thanks as always MJ, -CYC
Thanks MJ. Thanks for the Bedrock video and looking forward to part 2. Appreciate you sharing all your knowledge in these videos. Wishing you and your family a very Merry Christmas and a happy and healthy New Year.
Thank you MJ, you know how I swore off books and reading for that matter as a we las. And I so appreciate having this info decimenated in easy to follow and clear concise way! For us in the learning disabled category it's truly a big help! Also if you have one those straight Stanley logo iron in 2" or 2⅜" sold! In fact the №4½ parts would be my treat and I'll buy the iron. ✌️😏
You’re too kind Will. Thanks for tuning in and thanks for the kind words. I’m always happy if I can get info about Stanley planes out there. We’ll definitely chat some more about our next deal soon
Finally I end up having a little clarity on the BR types, I would say my favorites would be type 5&6. Another great video!….BTW I feel like I’ve seen some of those totes before 😂
In my experience collecting Bed Rock type 7 planes, I’ve never seen a japanned lever cap. My guess (and this is a guess), is that black paint, not japanning, would have been used behind the Stanley logo on the lever cap was probably done in the early 30s (sometime in the late type 8 period) just prior to painting them orange as a way to differentiate them, similar to the indestructible S planes being painted red, and before Stanley painted everything orange.
Do you have available a yoke long enough to engage a stanley Bailey No 3 type 12. The one in the plane now has a tip 4mm from the frog and it does not engage, at all.
Yea, unfortunately the farther we get away from the NE, the fewer nice tools there will be. Gotta find those enthusiasts from the previous generations who’ve gotten to the point that they’re ready to let sole stuff go - they’re all over

The tote on the 606 is definitely a Meds repair. And a great one indeed
I thought you were speaking in jest, saying this would be out on Christmas Eve !!!
I hate that I missed the goal last weekend. Now I gotta hurry up and get part II together
👍👍great information
Derek - as always, thanks for watching & thanks for supporting the channel. You’re the heat!

I should have one. Feel free to reach out via Facebook messenger or email me at jplanefun@gmail.com
Very nice.
Thanks Dennis!
5:48 Why does the from have the gap etched out beside the 603 stamp?
Unfortunately a previous owner felt the need to drill holes in the sole of that 603. 🤮
A YEAR AGO? How did I miss this one?
I dunno, but I’m glad you found it now 😁
I never find BRs in the wild here in TX. Saw one at an estate sale but a kid beat me to it

12:21 is the lack of a line on the lever what's not correct?
There’s something else missing. Let’s wait n’ see if anyone else guesses before I reveal the answer
Exelente .. deverias agregar subtitulos a español es super interesante tu contenido !!
If I knew how to do that, I probably wood!
Is it harmful to the earth to dig up bedrock? Seems like a crucial structure for the earth
Sadly, that’s why Stanley had to stop making them. 😒 They had removed too much of the Earth’s core
