Thank you very much for the excellent explanation of the disassembly and assembly of the Waterpik Water Flosser. It would be impossible for me to do this battery replacement. Congratulations!! Thank you very much!
Thank you for sharing the video. You’re brilliant! A side note, I owned two Waterpik WP-560W/WP-560C. After a few years of use, the battery dead on one unit. I checked WaterPik’s new products, so I decided to do what you have demonstrated to replace my batteries. Unfortunately it placed the batteries in a sealed plastic compartment and won’t me to access the inside. Had to give up. 😢
I haven't bought one of these yet, am thinking of it. But, I wanted to say looks great! I had to do the same, but to my Waterpik toothbrush. The one I have they stopped selling a few years ago, and I managed to find a video online showing how to change the battery in a very similar one (same brand, same head, just a slightly different body - newer model). I was ecstatic I was able to change the battery because I've never had a better toothbrush, and I really didn't want to have to replace it with their newest models. (Newest models require one to buy the water flosser with the toothbrush, and I already have a non-cordless water flosser, don't need another. Very annoying.) Anyway, thanks for the video!
Hi! I have the exact same watepik and i accidentally burned the charger (it was for 110 voltios and i plugged it on a 220 voltios). Do you happen to know how may i charge it with some other charger? a friend of mine told me to grab a mobile charger and weld it with the waterpik original cable, do you see that as an option? thanks in advanced!
Hmmmm. If you can find a charger that outputs the same amperage and voltage and then get the wires hooked up, I'd bet it would work. Alternately, there may be aftermarket ones available online. Good luck! Thanks!
Note to self… watch entire video before disassembling. 🤦🏻♀️😂 Hope I can find a replacement battery specifically for the model. Very informative video. Thank you.
Can I use 4/5AA 1500mAh? I've checked the amazon link and it's 1300 mAh. But it doesn't available in my country, only 1500 mAh, is that okay? Thank you.
Hi Arron, found your page after my batteries died after about 9 months. Unit may have been on store shelf a while. My hygienist said these units do not have enough power especially when batteries start to go. So I was thinking to increase battery voltage, but charger is only 3 volts. Also don't know how much voltage the DC motor can take. Looking at a lithium ion battery replacement. More life in them. Provided no water leaks it should be better. Did you consider this? Also going to see if a double A two battery holder will fit into unit. Then it's a wire to wire solder connection. Agree batteries should be much easier to replace.
They were from Amazon. Still working well. Thanks! www.amazon.com/dp/B07QVKYGWL/?tag=aiponsite-20&linkCode=ic5&ascsubtag=amzn1.infl.us.product&creativeASIN=B07QVKYGWL&ref=exp_aaronrose_dp_vv_d
It would have been cooler if you'd replaced the Ni-MH batteries with some lithium cells and the power port with a USB-C connector and a charge controller. The battery life would be much longer and you could charge it off any USB-PD charger.
I get it. Waterpik does not want most people to be able to recharge the batteries but continue to buy new ones! Never seen one almost impossible to replace the batteries!
Great video! Any insights into how the water reservoir is vented? Mine develops negative pressure after a few seconds and stops flowing water…. Annoying, to say the least!
Honestly, changing the batteries in these things is such a faff I would recommend just getting a replacement. It's too bad they are so expensive and don't last terribly long.
The power button on my daughter's just decided to stop working. Luckily we had another electric toothbrush our dentist gave us as a Christmas preset about 10 years ago. LOL. Never used it. Charging up now. I wanna fix the waterfloss incase this one stops working. (it really shouldn't). She needs to use it to clean her braces (which should be coming off in 2 more years tops I hope) Cannot find a video to try to fix the power button though.
It looks as your 4/5 batteries are smaller than the original ones which makes me think that the original may be regular rechargeable 1.2 volts AA easier to find and up to 2300 mha capacity. Great video, got to replace the batteries in mine. Thanks!
Hi Raymond I just measured mine with a vernier... 49mm. So they are actually full size AA. There is maybe 55mm space in there. Not looked if there is anything bigger we could fit though
I don't think that this is the first time you disassembled the unit after a year as it appears clean on the inside. I opened it up after 6 months, and the inside is disgusting. All coated with Black mold and other disgusting matter. This is a health hazard.

Genius!! You’re not paid even close to your worth. Thank you!!
Thank-you ~ After watching this video I decided to go out and buy a New Waterpik!! 🫣
Would it kill Waterpik to make these things with batteries that are designed to be replaceable?
Thr idiots should've there put a reset button,or replaceable batteries like the earlier machines.
A bit of good old fashioned 1970's style health & safety going on there 🤣

Great job Aaron. What is that brown liquid you call flox you use before soldering? Thank you.
Howdy! Flux is a light acid that allows the solder to flow better into the joints. I think it also help clean the connections a bit.
Thanks lll
👋Great Job. You did great 🙏🏼 I don’t like rechargeable items I can’t DIY batteries in later on. SO ILL BYE one of these now Thank you. 💜🦋💕
OMG. Fantastic video. THANK YOU!!! Made my day in two ways.
Very helpful. Please put a cover on that table next time 😂

I did think about upgrading but didn't do it. It's annoying so many things are just built to discard.
Where did you buy the batteries from and what are the specifications of the batteries.
They were from Amazon. Still working well. Thanks!

Decided to buy a brand new lithium battery model! Will last longer and better replacement batteries options.😊
Found batteries with tabs and succeeded; thanks!
дуже дякую! проста і зрозуміла розбірка і заміна акумуляторів
Great video! Any insights into how the water reservoir is vented? Mine develops negative pressure after a few seconds and stops flowing water…. Annoying, to say the least!
Very good video. I would like to know where the diode is placed on the positive or negative pole Thanks
Without the tabs you can use "de solder braid" for the tabs. It's available at Radio Shack.
I actually have some of that. Didn't think to use it. So far it's working well. Thanks!
RADIO SHACK WENT OUT OF BUST YEARS AGO!!!
My waterpike flosser suddenly stopped working! 🥺💔💔💔 what should i do

So, a link to amazon for these batteries?

Cannot find a video to try to fix the power button though.
How do you know when this is fully charged???
That's a good question. With no lights on it, I just usually leave it charging for 24 hours or so and that seems to work pretty well. Thanks!
How is it on tonsil stones?
Great Video.
I just got one of these and thought something wasn't working right.
While looking for info I ran across your vid.
For use in some Gov't contracts solder has a shelf life.
Tnx for info ! Nice video !
I have broken completely mine trying to replace the batteries :(
Nice video, it wasn't difficult at all but i couldn't do it
my waterpik has no screws inside and I don't know how to open it to fix because it has no screws inside....very stupid

I replaced the batteries in mine, they hold the charge and work for a whole week. I used a pair of AA 2300 mha batteries.
Hi Raymond

I just measured mine, 45mm, so can confirm they are standard AA size, not 4/5 size
OK! I am NOT changing the batteries on my Waterpik!
I honestly think they need to make better batteries for these. They don't last long

This is a comedy, correct? After those top tabs came off--straight to the trash. Thanks for sharing though.
Corporate greed and capitalism.
Nooooo😂
