Bro why don't you send the Andis Cordless Clipper to Andis and have them change out the battery it sounds like you have a battery issue from the factory. I have one and I don't have any issue like that bro just saying.
I like mine too I need to start building a system with the detachables tho I’ll be 4 years in as a barber I feel like I’m barely scratching the surface in this proffesion great review
I bought mine of Amazon. I think it’s used. Did your new one come with a charged battery and heavy grease applied inside of the top of the machine that you can actually see it?
Very happy with my Octane clippers at the one year mark. Very robust design. Well balanced and agile. These are top of the line Oster! Thanks for the review.
I actually do use all of them including the two largest ones which is the 5/8 and 3/4 they are identical in length to a number five plastic in a number 6 plastic well they feel that they cut much better
I use all the Oster blades to get the same effect as an adjustable clipper and snap on guards. I use the Oster plastic clipper guards to get an “open” state. The Oster guards are slightly higher. Great method for fades and tapers. These detachable clippers result in a smooth haircut. Expensive though. I have a black set and a silver set as a backup to optimize blade life. I sharpen the blade sets (alternating colour) every six months or so. I prefer the black blades. The coating makes the blade travel through hair better.
Maybe you can help! I got an Oster Power Pro Cordless, a complete kit with four different blades. Come to find out this model 78400 is for animal grooming! What's the difference and would it be foolish to forget about this trimmer and get an Octane? Thanks a lot!
Have you used the andis zr2? Thats what i use, when i bought my zr2 i was debating between the octane and the zr2, i went with the andis because my local barber supply store had it in stock and not the octane?
I bought them about six months ago I got a super price on am I only paid $225 they're the absolute best but I also have the bgrc Andis and it's pretty awesome to I like them both I like the bgrc because it's a very short in length Clipper and when you're doing the taper in the nape area it's very easy to do the arc without hitting the clients shoulder but they're both badass love the octane
@@BigAlsShoppableReviews I have two batteries for the octane and two for the BGR it works very nicely when I just let one battery run all the way down and I plug the other one in and just keep a battery charged at all times
Big Al's Barber Channel thanks Big Al for replying I use the andis envy’s with the fade blade I put on a andis guard usually for bald fades like a number 2 or 1 on top and then use them with the blade close making the bald line after that I would use my Wahl clippers an fade out the rest. I like having a fade blade on my clippers; are the oster blades similar to a fade blade; more flat or do they curve out like the taper blades?
@@BigAlsShoppableReviews I'ma intermediate level Barber and your videos are very informative I bought 2 sets of the babyliss pro fx clippers because of your reviews keep up the great content Big Al saludos from Zapopan Jalisco México brother. No problems with the Octane base station after a hear. I use two batteries and hot swap. Never run out of juice, optimize charging cycles. Make sure batteries are fully charged before use!
i have a question , im trying to buy the oster octane but i need help understanding the detachable blades , can you tell me what the 1 thru 8 guards would be in detachable blades please
There is no i threw eight......you only got Zero- wich is zero #1 - wich is between half and #1 #1a - wich is 1.5 #2 - wich is shorter than plastic #2 #3.5 - wuch is #3 plastic #3.75 - wich is between plastic 3 and 3.5 Thats it no metal blades higher than 3.75 . Metal blades are for taking bulk and cut much smoother than plastic. To give example i never use a plastic 2 i always use metal #2 . Much cleaner and tighter.
Big Al's Barber Channel ohh ok thank you very much , i just wanted to know because im barely trying to learn the detachable blade thing and i wasnt sure , appreciate it tho
also what’s the difference between the 00000 , 0000 , 000 , and 0a ?? and also , since i don’t really know detachables , do you think i should get it or no ??
Check Andis Supra ZR1/2 it's a killer

Detachable make your job easier and smoother. You need to implement them into your cuts . It will make you faster.

Pretty sure they come with grease on them when shipped

Same here Rick best oster I ever had. Its nice doing away with cord.
Sounded extremely loud with the blade on...is that the machine or the blade
That's what oster sound like
What numbers would you recommend me getting with it boss ?
#1 #1.5 #2 #3.5 that's all you need
Oh and 1A
I actually have 17 blades for the Oster and Andis they both fit both Clippers
Dang 17 ....wow

These are Detachable blades ....I dont recommend guards . But they do make them .

Animal clippers are same as human . I dont really know difference. But I would use it . Octane is $300 bucks . Unless you don't mind spending .
Bought-ed.....?😅

No I havent . I got a Andis BGR3, I like it but battery dies easy . Love this octane though bad ass.
😂😂😂😂🤟🏼🤟🏼🤟🏼
Do you know of anyone willing to trade an Octane for a practically brand new Andis Supra used a handful of times? Thank you and great review!
No I dont .....
Could I get away with the 76 in the meantime? I don't mind a cord
Definitely I used corded first 17 years of my career......
Hell yeah
I been using em since 1994
Would this be a good clipper to do a simple number 2 all around? Thanks.
Definitely

You should let the battery completely die some times before charging it. And never keep it on the charger overnight.
Why is that
@@ainitadump831 lithium battery. Especially the very first time it is charged
It should drain completely. It’s all in the users manual.
I leave mine in charger all tge time . Once its charged it will not charge anymore .
How much are those out the door north of 300$ right?
I paid 299.....I believe the link I provided they are also $299 plus tax so i would say yes. But so worth it.
