Feargall - cheers for the comment. We know it's a generalisation and each person is different but to keep the video short it was necessary. The original plan was to cover all this in 10 minutes so as not to bore people but despite going as fast as possible with no breaks and no edits it still took 18 mins! It wouldn't be possible to cover every eventuality- its best left to each individuals coach who knows the boxer best
Thanks for this video, very clear about the dangers of white collar boxing and how easily it is to be exploited if entering a bout not to mention the lack of medical expertise. the white collar isn't me. I've trained with amateurs in a gym in the UK since 2011 under an old ex pro. and I had some experience from when I was younger in late teens. in Australia I've been told that the particpation age is much higher therefore even at 43 I'd still be able to compete. the uk rule is a frustrating thing tbh and needs revising as even at 43 I'd say I'm a competent fighter with lots of bouts left. Thanks again though the boxercise is
gym i go to holds sparring sessions to find opponents for the fighters at our gym. If they’re evenly matched in sparring then they’ll ask them if they want to fight. If it’s one sided they will find someone else.
The thing I don't entirely agree with is the age. I think some people age at different paces but he has a point. I think over all this is a well schooled guy and good advice but my advice is one glove doesn't fit all boxing is a complecated sport but this is a good general break down.
