creed lang oh settle down flomo. Pac was twice the warrior that the little tap, hold run repeat pussy fighter Floyd ever was. In mannys prime he stopped cotto and Oscar and hatton much easier than Floyd did who never even hurt cotto and may have lost to Oscar. Manny also dropped Mosley and was never staggered all over the ring by him like Floyd was.

I think they should consider Pacquaio's stance and position when he KO's Hatton. I'm not a boxing expert but I think it might be worth considering to explain the "shocking" power of that single punch that they had witnessed. Manny is always known for throwing torrential punches. Algieri once said that Pacquaio's punches were like bricks smashing at you unlike Garcia's spring-loaded punches. He's known as a high-volume pressure fighter. "Death by a thousand blades" like they say. But those blades were more like daggers. In comparison, Garcia's a sword. Those spring loaded punches were like a full swing of a sword while pacman's where lots but snappy strikes of the dagger. For most of the fights, he fights with the daggers. But don't get me wrong, his daggers still cut deep man. Sacrificing some of his power with speed and movement. Movement for the most part. And movement got something to do with feet positions. And feet positions for the most part, affects how much a boxer could generate power from a punch. Manny can be seen moving around most of the times in his fights. And that means, he doesn't have the chance to fully unleash 100% potential of his power in a punch. In order to properly generate the full potential of a boxer's power in a punch, they need to plant their feet deeply and in the proper position. Like the analysts said, Hatton at that fight is 1 dimensional. And that means that Pacquiao could now sacrifice those movements for a single blow and just have to wait for the right moment. As shown in the replay, Manny stopped for a moment then unleashes his whole existence on Hatton's chin with the terrifying overhand left hook. I might be wrong though with that

Hatton could not resist that steam-train, which had put him where he was used to being. He should have danced around to buy time. He was asked to slip and slide and hold those gloves up. The bell rings and he didn't change a thing. The rest is history.

The thing is, Pac is 5'6". His ideal weight therefore is 140-150ish. So really, he's fighting at his optimum weight which translates to optimum power. It's no surprise why he's so strong at that weight because he is healthy.

    • @marcuslarwa9098
      @marcuslarwa9098 Год назад

If your natural weight is 140-150 then you would want to fight at 130-135 because losing 5-10 pounds of water for only a couple hours doesn’t hurt your body and you can gain back the water weight and be a lot stronger. Yes fighting around your natural weight has great advantages but so does draining your body of water and weighting in lighter then rehydrating and coming in with a weight advantage. The fighters that can do that more effectively are usually the top fighter in the division. Look at Khabib for example that dude was able to cut 20-25 pounds and still put the weight back on, giving him a huge advantage over his opponents. If your natural weight is 150 and your fighting at 147 you could end up fighting a guy that’s a 165-170 pounds. Matter a fact Spence walks around at like 170 but can get down to 147 for just long enough to weight in for the fight. Then he puts the weight back on and he ends up being a super middle weight fighting against smaller opponents.

Emmanuel "Manny" Pacquiao has competed in professional boxing since 1995. Regarded by many boxing historians as one of the greatest professional boxers of all time, Pacquiao is the only boxer in history to win 12 major world titles in eight different weight divisions. He is also the first and only boxer in history to win the lineal championship in five different weight divisions, as well as being the first and only boxer in history to win major world titles in four of the original eight weight divisions of boxing, also known as the "glamour divisions": flyweight, featherweight, lightweight and welterweight.
As of September 2020, Pacquiao is the oldest welterweight world champion in history at the age of 41, and the first boxer to become a recognized four-time welterweight champion after defeating then undefeated unified WBA Super/WBC champion Keith Thurman to win the WBA (Super) welterweight champion.
Pacquiao also holds the record of being the first and only four-decade world champion in history, having held world championships in the 1990s; WBC/Lineal World Flyweight, 2000; IBF Superbantamweight World Champion, Ring/Lineal Featherweight World Champion, WBC/Ring/Lineal Superfeatherweight World Champion, WBC Lightweight, World Champion, IBO/Ring/Lineal Light-Welterweight World Champion and WBO Welterweight World Champion ), 2010s; WBC Superwelterweight World Champion and WBO/Lineal Welterweight World Champion (2x) and 2020s; WBA (Super) Welterweight World Champion.
He was named Fighter of the Decade for the 2000s by the Boxing Writers Association of America (BWAA), WBC and WBO. He is also a three-time Ring magazine and BWAA Fighter of the Year, winning both awards in 2006, 2008 and 2009; and the Best Fighter ESPY Award in 2009 and 2011. In 2016, Pacquiao was ranked second on ESPN's list of top boxers, pound-for-pound, of the past 25 years. BoxRec ranks Pacquiao as the fifth greatest boxer, pound for pound, of all time, as well as the greatest Asian boxer of all time. World-renowned boxing expert and historian Bert Sugar ranked Pacquiao as the greatest southpaw fighter of all time. In 2020, Pacquiao topped the Ranker's list of best boxers of the 21st century
    NOTES
First and only boxer to win a World titles in 8 Weight Divisions.
First and only Asian boxer to win a world title in at least 5 weight divisions.
First and only Filipino boxer to win a World title in at least 5 weight divisions.
First and only boxer to win a lineal World title in at least 5 weight divisions.
First and only boxer to held a World title in at least four decades (1990s, 2000s, 2010s, 2020s).
Only boxer to held a world title in at least four age decades (denarian, vicenarian, tricenarian, quadragenarian).
Oldest welterweight world champion in history.
Fifth-oldest boxer to win a world title in history (40 years, 215 days old).

Ricky did good, he was on top for most of the first round, got some good shots in both rounds, but in ths fight and with Mayweather he suffered a lack of confidence when affected his performance. Pacman seemed to have superior body strength which is why Ricky never probably went for the holds, but he should have held and fought toe to toe a bit as well as trying to block more punches and "catch" the jab, the way Michael Watson did brilliantly against Eubank in their second fight.
