      30 dollars is kinda expensive for a monthly membership. I had Gold Gym in Los Angeles for 30 a month a few years ago. I wondering if they were giving you the "American" price?

    • @OurFreedomYears
      @OurFreedomYears  3 года назад

      @@taccntb4345 For all the gyms we've gone to on our travels so far, the pricing seems pretty clear cut, eg it's available on the website and on any brochures, etc. That said, we do pay a premium because we're only getting a single month instead of 6 month or yearlong commitment. Your Gold Gym membership sounds like it was a great deal!

    Awhile back I found one of your videos about retiring early, which was great. But then we were looking for travel items and found you again in that context. We instantly loved your on screen personalities, the details you share and a similar travel style to our own, which makes your channel among the most helpful on our list. We got hooked on your stop after Medellin with the gorgeous house and now I'm down the rabbit hole going back. Love it!

    I never thought I'd be eating a sheep's head, but I loved it too, when I visited Istanbul last November.
    also: Not 👏 a 👏 river 👏 😅
    A river is a body of water with a spring, usually freshwater. The Bosphorus connects two (salty) seas, thus making it a straight ;)

    • @OurFreedomYears
      @OurFreedomYears  3 года назад

      It turns out that sheep's head is delicious in a sandwich, with parsley, onion and sumac - we loved it! A perfect snack for a cruise down the Bosphorus strait (good catch!) 😉

    Bosphorus is not a river it's a 'strait'

    Which neighborhood did you stay and what is the name of the gym. Love watching you both.

      Thanks so much! The neighbourhood we stayed in during that trip was Beyoglu and then the next time we stayed in Cihangir bit.ly/3cd7Y5t And I can't recall the name of the gym - it was so long ago! 😂

    Hi! I just came across your channel and love it! Question, how long do you spend with the script of your videos before you film it. Everything sounds so great and flows very well.

    • @OurFreedomYears
      @OurFreedomYears  3 года назад

      Hi Amit, thanks for your comment! When we first started out we would only do a rough outline before filming. We quickly realized that our videos could be better with a little more planning, so now we write out more details ahead of time and do a practice run just before we switch the camera on. Hopefully you can see the difference in our latest videos...bit.ly/34a1Y85

    Love your videos. Maybe you should separate your fixed costs from the cost of living because your storage expenses in Canada has nothing to do with the cost of living in the places you mention. A question: Is your airbnb cost is higher because of dogs? Because not all hosts would accept guests with two dogs.

    • @OurFreedomYears
      @OurFreedomYears  3 года назад

      Hi Zafer - Thanks - that's a great suggestion! It's true that many people don't need storage. Fortunately we finally closed out our locker in Canada and no longer have to pay for storage. You can check out our latest cost of living video from Greece: bit.ly/3ocQKsK
      Regarding our Airbnb costs, it's usually on par with the market rate. Many hosts state no pets in their listing but are actually very accepting when we reach out to them directly. It helps that we have good reviews! 😀
