Solar Cart!?

- Can we realistically run an electric 48v golf cart on solar panels? We plan to find out!
Part 1- I picked up a super cheap Yamaha electric Golf Cart to tinker with. First we need to get it fixed up and running. Then we will decide how many solar panels, PWM vs MPPT controller etc.

Thanks for watching!
Can anyone confirm this is a Yamaha G19? Or where I could find some schematics?
Thanks!
If you have used the Docooler MPPT Solar Charge Controller before please let us know what your experience with it was. Thanks!
I thought this video was about a solar golf cart?
Can the roof be much longer/ larger?
Just wondering can you put a pulley and belt system hooked up to an alternator off the axle to charge as you drive ?
Although it would generate a charge to the batteries, it would also create additional load on the motor, which in turn creates additional battery drain. There is friction and conversion loss of energy in the process which unfortunately makes it an overall loss more than gain.
What's the update on this project
I am evaluating a different solar controller for this. The panels work awesome and I have gone months now without ever needing to charge the golf cart (even with everyday use), however the solar controller is having issues at times I believe due to humidity and it has a very annoying fan noise. The new one I am trying now is fanless and seems much more weather proof.
