Amanda Tapping as Captain Sam (Samantha) Carter
Don S. Davis as Major General George Hammond - Развлечения
I love General George Hammond, he should have gotten much more air time. Rest in peace General! And thank you Don Davis.
Hammond of Texas, Staunchest and Most Faithful Warrior!
RIP? We will work much more than here. lol
It was at that moment, that Teal'c learned that the Tauri were his homies for life.
No, he learned that they are easily manipulated.
@@asyncasync or that they have empathy..
Then Teal'c gets an apartment and realizes spousal beating is a thing on this world. If you harm her again I will kill you.
Yeah sure bro.
He suddenly sees Lt. Colonel Carter arrive in Dress Blues to pick Teal'c up for work.
Uh maybe that guy isn't someone to doubt.

I'm just imagine that Hamond is sitting there thinking: "And you owe me five hundred thirty-nine dollars."
Why that amount specifically? haha
@@hornetkeeperh It's a reference to the episode 1969.
@@hornetkeeperh "I'll pay you back, with interest."
Actually it was five hundred thirty-nine dollars and fifty cents. :)
@@CraigNiel Doesn't matter, it is still a GREAT episode.
So to cancel the dialing sequence, you press Esc? I can just imagine
Hammond: "Shut it down!"
Walter: "I'm trying sir" *pressing Esc* "it won't let me"
Hammond: "Keep trying"
Walter: *keeps pressing Esc*
It would suck if the same command feature that lets them use the keyboard to dial coordinates locked out all other functions. I mean what a lousy time to find out your CAPS Lock is on.
Lmaoo I was thinking the same thing😂😂😂
@@NateSean Caps lock has been repurposed to Chevron lock.
O'Neil: Have you tried Ctrl+Alt+Delete
Domihork
Hahahaha. Or, a virus, malware or the windows program freezes and has to reboot before closing the gate.
That sudden change in expression at 1:12. It was at that moment Hammond earned Teal'c undying loyalty and trust.
that was teal'c's equivalent of a doubletake
That moment really made me feel warm and fuzzy inside.
After Teal'c stopped the dialing process, he was locked up, and no mission was ever undertaken to get his son.
Hammond knew Teal'c wasn't going to back down. So instead of making Teal'c an enemy, or dead, Hammond made him a friend for life.
At first, Hammond is only following the rules. But later in the series, we learn that he cares deeply about his family, so seeing Teal'c being ready to risk his life to save his son, and promising that he would die rather than give away the Tau'ri's secrets made Hammond respect and trust him a lot more, hence why he authorizes this mission. Aside from the strategic rewards that could come (capture of a symbiote, intel about rebel Jaffas, etc...).
General: What the hell are you doing?
Teal'c: I am only risking my life to save my family. Only my own life.
General: That's the problem. I'm sending the rest of the team with you.
Teal'c: Hence forth, the people of Chulak will know you as "Hammond, of Texas."
*waves hand over bald head*
1:28 Gaurds are like "Thank God we didn't have to shoot Teal'c. He's so awesome."
More like, thank god, we didn't get our asses handed to us by teal'c
Little of Column A and a little of Column B
More like the bullets just plain ol' know better.....
They probably know how fucked it would be, considering.
to be fair a fire fight in the control room would be pretty damaging even if these guys are all the best of the best, which i mean these are the base guards not the SG teams so.
Hammond of Texas don't take no crap from nobody.
Of course the General knew that Teal'c was a member of SG1 already. "1969"
But he just... did?
@@kurtsnyder4752 Ah, fuck. Makes sense. Imagine waiting to collect all the money with interest from O'Neill all that time.
Also's why he let O'Nei two "l"s get away with alotta stuff.
@@s0ulshot Hammond would never engage in usury
While Hammond was shown to be a good person from the beginning of the show, this is where it became clear that his people came first, no matter what, and that he was willing to give and be flexible. As soon as he said out loud that Teal'c would die if he went through the gate alone, he realized that he couldn't deal with that. It was also where it was firmly established that Teal'c was not going anywhere. One of my favorite moments in the show right here, because this was such a character setting moment.
And it’s for just that reason that all sorts of slimy government types were trying to get Hammond out of there.
1:06 and that's why I love General Hammond.
It was that moment when Teal'C took those 2 soldiers who pointed guns at him off from his Xmas list.
I would gladly serve under Hammond he is definitely everything a true general is supposed to be 👍
I like how he just uses the escape key to shut down the gate 🤣
Well he didn't do anything to hijack the controls other than not letting Walter at the keyboard. There was no hacking or malicious code to wrestle against.
one of the best characters in Stargate
"Thank you General"
-> ESC
*Arrest this man* !
What a boss
He's like "damn it Teal'c" that's just what's gonna happen if they let him go through alone! Favorite funny part in this whole scene though serious situation.
General Hammond is awesome all military personal should be like him
I wonder how many times someone fucked up a dial by hitting the Escape key.
Maybe that's why we saw so many gate techs but only Walter kept on coming back
Teal'c was able to go to the Stargate and attempt to dial it without anyone stopping him. If his intentions were hostile, he could have destroyed the facility! Something as powerful as the Stargate would undoubtedly be guarded better!
It probably was after that, but teal'c was also probably on a very short list of people that could do that.
@@danielboatright8887 Yeah, I was gonna say, there's probably a group of people that no one messes with due to respect. While this was first season, long before any of that, I firmly believe that O'Neill would have done absolutely everything he could have to make sure no one messed with Teal'c in the early days of the SGC. Teal'c saved the lives of SG-1, to O'Neill, he was golden after that.
Now think about the guards and technicians Teal'c pulverised in order to have alone time with that keyboard.
When ESC can cancel the dialing sequence
imagine what Alt+F4 can do!
The Gate blows up…… Anubis really over thought how to blow up the gate with that ancient weapon. 😂
Maybe that would switch priority to the Antarctic gate? 🤔
It wouldn't do shit they are clearly using a custom operating system
Teal'c knows the Escape key! LOL!
The amount 9f mutual respect sgc and all involved had for team's and vice versa was palpable. Also, rip Hammond of Texas!
LOL the Esc key. The formation of a wormhole to another star system can be negated with the Esc key. Strategic moment, Earth is in the balance, someone hits the key with muscle memory.
Whoops!
The only reason this scene works is because Hammond knows him already
No matter what universe Kratos will kill anyone for his Son
💜💚💜💚
❤u guys have voice print ❤
Paid in full you are free to go
I looked at my esc key... just in case.
If you want support and having people fighting for you the next time you need them... It would be fair, and assure you a continuity doing so.
So... There's no password on that system? Anyone can just start dialing? Also, must be a "friendly" user interface for Teal'c to use it so casually. It normally requires a guy to say "chevron locked!"

- Heinlein "Starship Troopers" (the book, not the gawdawful movie)
excuse me while I go find a Kleenex...
Was this the moment Hammond decided Teal'c was not one of their own as he would say 3 episodes later?
those computers rotfl.. still a good show.
If you think real computers from 25 years ago are worth an rofl, original Star Trek must provoke lmao. ;-)
Wow. You're retarded. : - )
Doesn’t explain how Teal’c managed to dial the gate without having the password or the palm ID to access the dialing sequence. Also, the control is always manned.
Im unsure if the palm sensor was implemented at this stage in the show.
@@reilly_sharky_reese Correct it wasn't until after they fought the Reetou who were able to override their gate that the palm scanner was installed, and even then it was only to control the Iris, not the dialing sequence.
The technicians are lying on the floor unconcious out of sight of the camera. Apparently they had a bad day.
Not really an appropriate response for a FREE MAN at first…
If those guards were civilians tealc would've been shot for touching the esc key
No one would open fire on Teal'c unless Hammond ordered it or Teal'c attacked, neither of which would happen. Plus the bullets would ricochet and injure or kill someone else in the room. Those guards were there to stop him from going through the gate, not for touching the keyboard.
True. I am saying if they were civilian cops. Military are more trained and less trigger happy
