    These mics sound so good! Shure has such a deep and rich history of quality but the Fifine really came out with something good here.

    The Shure is brighter as far as highs but it sounds good.the Fifine has a ( lower radio type voice sounding frequency ) in my opinion.Both sound really good.I feel the Shure can be customized alot more than the Fifine.

      Agreed 100% the FiFine has almost a fixed sound, you can’t clean it up much due to it starting so much on the low end. But with it being designed for podcast type content it’s perfect for that right out the box. You have a lot more lead way with the Shure. It’s one of the most forgiving mics you can get for high quality recording!

    The plosives test was very interesting. The Shure gave a much better impression of the plosive without overdoing it. Meaning I could better tell what the words were vs the Fifine. I can see how this is preferential esp for like a podcast where I can't see someone's lips moving while talking. The Fifine muted the plosive quite heavily IMO until it went over the threshold. Hopefully all that made sense. Very good comparison overall, thank you.

    Thanks for the comparison! I’m getting back into streaming soon and going for XLR since I’ve been using USB for years. I’m not on the budget but I think the K688 beats the Shure outta the water with more bang for your buck! Appreciate for your comparison. I was always a Shure fan but since I’m starting streaming again soon, The budget friendly mic still sounds Amazing!

      Yes the k688 is nice! They recently released another the Tank 3 which I also reviewed. I’ll be doing a comparison between that one and the MV7+ soon!

    next time make sure that the mic in the first test also has the same distance. I believe the voice is deeper because its closer to the source. The Shure is also deep when talking right into it.

    • @CoZChristopher
      @CoZChristopher  9 месяцев назад

      Yep that’s the proximity effect of a dynamic mic, but the pickup on the Shure was getting the same audio levels from that distance as opposed to needing to be closer to the AM8. But, you’re right about the distance universally.

    You can tell the Shure has a lot more clarity and is natural sounding out of the box, however, it also seems to pick up a lot of background noise compared to the FiFine (very evident to me when you switched between them near the end of the video), which is something that can easily be fixed but it was very noticeable to me.
    I personally prefer the sound of the Shure, seems more versatile and the adjustments in post are to simply enrich a beautifully sounding microphone that captures the whole range of your voice just as it is, as opposed to the FiFine which has to be corrected to make it sound better and less bassy.
    Can't argue with the price tho, at a fraction of the cost the FiFine doesn't do too bad.

    • @CoZChristopher
      @CoZChristopher  Год назад

      Yep!!! Those were my thoughts as well. The preamp for the Shure, especially at +28 adds in a little more floor noise. But also, the UAC 232 has a healthy range and pairing that with the Shure’s range most likely caused the noisy floor. I had to raise the output level to power the FiFine and stay relatively close to get the sound where as the Shure I could sit back around 8-12” or more. I’d turn the output down to reduce some noise there. I think the FiFine is an out of the box “podcast” microphone that will be a great plug and play for the beginner, but the Shure allows for professional mixing and post as you become more experienced in your skill set. Also, plosives are much better on the Shure. I don’t have the most aggressive voice when it comes to those but someone more dynamic in tone would notice that a lot more with the FiFine. But yea, that price $79 for the FiFine haha, you’d better be making money to justify the Shure haha

    I think the finefine 688 beats this shure mic , the plosives was better on shure . The fine has a lower level of High Frequency input which can be tweaked with a good interface

  • @shubhamdas351

    See in shure you can get even the background and natural voice much clearly and fifine cancels it and only gives the focused voice

  • @selw0nk

    I like the bass sound on the FiFine K688. The Shure sounds tiny with little to no bass.

    • @CoZChristopher
      @CoZChristopher  Год назад +4

      Yes it’s a flat sound out of the box, but you can shape it better than the FiFine. I agree, the FiFine is more plug and play. But the Shure allows you to be further from the mic, if I was close to it like you are forced to be for the FiFine you’d have more low end in that mic and a little cleaner. That’s a good call out. I’ll make sure to have closer proximity in the other comparisons.

    i just bought myself a shure sm7db, I had been using the fduce sl40 which imo is a pretty good budget usb/xlr dynamic microphone. anyways thanks for the video i like the sound of the sm7db and this confirmed i needed one😂

      Hahaha thanks for the kind words. I will say I used a ton of budget options prior to this. A lot of them sounded really good, but man, there is a difference when you change to a higher end mic with better build quality and internal components. The finer details of having the pickup capsule further away from the end to eliminate plosives, and post work editing/mastering flexibility, etc. it all adds up to noticeable difference.
