Framing lumber may be coming down but the materials to build the rest of the house are still 80% and higher along with sub-contractors that still think the "good times" are still here. from 4 years ago. It's definitely alarming to hear about a default cycle, especially in the context of the housing market. Defaults can lead to foreclosures, and that has a cascading effect on the overall real estate landscape.

    • @danialwiren2403
      @danialwiren2403 7 дней назад

      While it's concerning, it's important to look at the broader economic context. A default cycle doesn't necessarily mean the housing market is completely finished; it might signal challenges, but markets are dynamic, and they can recover.

    • @patricia_nura3378
      @patricia_nura3378 7 дней назад +1

      Yes, that's a possibility. An increase in foreclosures can lead to an oversupply of homes in the market, putting downward pressure on prices. It's the basic principle of supply and demand.

      @@JohnD-JohnD I have been a Michigan licensed general contractor since 1972. Perfectly dry wood that sits around in the winter up here takes on moister and mold from
      Our high humidity. Until it’s nailed in place with sheeting outside/drywall inside and heat, lumber here does all kinks of bowing, twisting and splitting

    • @JohnD-JohnD
      @JohnD-JohnD 3 дня назад

      @@highwatercircutrider The past several deck projects I had, the wood was so wet, the screws would squeeze the moisture out of them. And yes, I know about acclimation, and that can make wood bow as well.

    I know someone very well who has been told year after year not to harvest their lumber. They have acres and acres of lumber to be harvested, but no one will harvest it for them. It is suspiciously government related. Someone or something gives Harvesters cold feet. Maybe they will call her this year 🙏. The trees have been ready for 3 years now. I don't believe supply was a problem when they said it was.
