I just subscribed a few months ago, using your discount code & omg! I love it so much! It's worth every penny!Arigatpu gozaimasu!
You can put Boondi in yoghurt, you just have to soak it for a few minutes till it gets soft in hot water, then add it to the yoghurt with some cucumber black pepper and sometimes you can add salt and then it will be a good side dish for any spicy curry
In the thali you actually called rasam (a soupy dish made using pepper, garlic, tamarind etc) as sambar and sambar as some other curry. There's two kinds of sambar the tiffen one(usually served with dosa and idli) and the rice one (the spicy one served with rice)
OMG! Satoshi's face after that Nan-bite...so cute!
I know right!
He lit up! I love it ✨
You know it's good when Shinichi says "Hello" to the food.😆 Don't blame you Shinichi I'd like to introduce myself to that cheese naan as well.😋
The complexity of flavors in Indian food is like magic!
I love Satoshi so much :D
*combining 15 different Dal & chutney*
"This flavor combination is.... marriáge"
Thank you for the fun video!
😂
Your genuine enthusiasm really makes me feel like you've transported me to where you are and experiencing what you're doing. At a time where we can't travel, i truly appreciate it. Thank you both!
Your friendly, genuine enthusiasm make you the ideal guides. I always leave your videos having learned something new and wanting to explore more of the world. Thank you so much!
The food looked so delicious. I now regret not going to the market today. I'm having Cheerios for dinner.
You guys never cease to amaze me. I never knew there was a little India in Tokyo. This was a very interesting video. Thanks!
Woooow as an South Indian from Chennai I am so so soooo happy to see Shinichi and Satoshi trying Indian food I am Proud and happy, when they found GRB sweets n Town bus snacks I knw that's a nice Indian Shop!!! Pls come to India for a Tour Shinichi!❤
The thin soup you tried in the Thali is called rasam. It’s a sour soup made from mostly tamarind water and you’ll have garlic, crushed peppercorns and coriander leaves. You pour it over rice and eat or eat like a soup. It’s good for when you have a cold.
I am from India🇮🇳 and I really enjoyed your video.. and yes! dosa is even my favourite food... ❣️
I'm drooling, guys! I love Indian food as well as Japanese, and thanks to an earlier video I discovered the joy that is dopiaza 🙂 everything you ate looked absolutely delicious!
I just love the indian tea i tasted years ago, hot tea made with assam, cardamom, milk and a little sugar
Okay, I'm salivating. 😊 Indian regional foods are some of my favorite cuisines both to eat and to cook. Their complexity is 5,000 years in the making with a myriad of cultural and religious influences. For vegetarians/vegans like me, the Hindu vegetarian culture offers _many_ delicious plant-based choices. Thank you Shinichi and Satoshi for taking us to two wonderful restaurants! If you want vegetarian food when you get to India, I understand that the State of Gujarat on the western coast of India is a wonderful place to go. 👍
Hey! I wasn’t expecting to see you here! I had to double check that this wasn’t a CJU video.
@@rishiroy8500 Hahaha! Hi, Rishi! I've been following Shinichi and Satoshi for years. 🌸👍 I've been following CJU even longer. 😊
@@Scriptor13 That's awesome! Small world! I'm living in Tokyo right now, so occasionally I just check out random recommendations for restaurants in the area which is how I got here. These guys have definitely earned another subscriber from me!
@@rishiroy8500 That's great to hear, Rishi! They deserve new subscribers. Have you lived in Tokyo long? Japan is a place I've always wanted to visit but haven't been able to so far. Luckily, I get to experience it virtually through Shinichi and Satoshi. 👍
Been in Japan for about 2 years, Tokyo for 1. It's really convenient to travel around with the train system. Hopefully after the pandemic you get the chance!
I so love this video. When I was teaching English my students gave me a world tour of food and there is nothing like sharing food to get people together. I never imagined there was a Little India in Tokyo, you took me on a real adventure.
I haven't had this for the past 22 year's..
This dish is from southern India 🇮🇳.
Greetings from Hamburg Germany 🇩🇪 to Japan 🇯🇵.. You guy's are multicultural indeed & so I'm.. I've also tasted various cuisines around New York City.. Mainly Puerto Rican, Italian & Greek..
My wife is from there.. In Hamburg where I reside are mainly typical Hamburg food 🍲 are from fish 🐠 due to the elbe river & ocean in the North.. We also have international restaurants..
Such as Japanese & other's as well.. Because Hamburg is dockside city & have had interacted with different parts of the world.. Some of us down here the older generation also relish horse 🐴 meat 🥩 this include myself.. I've also tried kangaroo steak.. Which we get from Australia.
But we don't have the luxury of blue fin tuna sushi 🍥 like it's in Japan..Number 1 like Kobe & Wagyu Beef.
I was born in North India & I prefer Mughalai cuisines.. Generally awadhi.. These are the food that got incorporated in India during the various invasion from Turkey, Iran & Afghanistan.
Enjoy your South Indian food. 🤘 ☺
Aren't you eastern I dian.You are a bengali
@@anindyabagchi5885 Of course I'm but my ancestors are from Iran according to my DNA test & furthermore.. I can't read & write Bangla.. But I can fluently speak Punjabi, Urdu, Hindi, Bhojpuri. My ancestor's left East Bengal before the partition in early 1930.. I was born and bought up in Delhi & resided there till I was 30 year's old & then left for Germany.. But I do have maternal & Paternal relatives in East Bengal.. Respectively in Barisal, Faridpur & Ulpur district.. Including our ancestors mansion.. Which is at present in ruins.. If you type Basu Roy Chowdhury of Ulpur(Gopal Ganj) on Google then there you will notice my Ancestral background. But anyway I've my relatives in different part's of the world. But I'm not very social with them. I've my own existence to handle in Germany & also in America. Relatives aren't important to my reality. I'm a self made individual.. But not pampered son of well to do parent's unlike my 2 siblings.. 😂
Good to know.btw I am Anindya's wife.He is at office.I just didn't bother to log into my account.I love Japanese culture and Anime. Also originally from Dhaka Bangladesh where my great grandfather was a Hindu doctor. He lost all lands, house, carriages during partition. My grandpa built a house in Kolkata.I grew up in Kolkata, now in US with an elementary school kid.
@sunny dayday are you a Japanese?Chill man.Happy Insulation Day to you.
Omg the food in the intro alone was making my mouth water, I LOVE Indian food!!!!
Love Indian food love garlic Naan, mango lassi, chai and the Indian sweets are so good too!!!!! 🍛 👍🏻👅

OMG! You guys were pretty close! I literally live 2 minutes from Calcutta. And YES! It is a yummy place!^^ Spoiling myself there pretty often.XD Cheese-naan is my all-time favorite.^^ Made the exact face as Satoshi-san when visiting for the first time.:P Thank you for introducing this place to others! It deserves to be better known.
My favorite thing is when you guys go "Oishi!!" or "Umai!".
Why do I torture myself by watching this right before bed, now I'm starving. That food looks SO GOOD. Thanks for another great video.
That sakutto sound was something else. Everything looked so good.
I really loved this video!! Especially how they're generously interested in Indian food and don't just blindly call everything curry. They really look like they're enjoying the food.
As an Indian person it makes me so so happy seeing a video about Indian food in Tokyo! I didn't even know there was that much variation so this is so cool to see, thanks for doing this video!
I love the expression on Satoshis face, when he is surprised with deliciousness 😍
One of my favorite cuisines! It was fun to see your reactions to each new flavor.
Glad you like our food. Do try to make it at home. :)
I can’t believe I never knew about the Indian community in Nishi Kasai. That Butter chicken masala curry made my mouth water.
Indian food is very tasty! I'm from San Jose, CA and we are getting more indian restaurants. The nan bread is one of my favorites.
Cool
Hellooooo yummy Indian food! What great choices, boys! I would be all over that South Indian Thali plate! Lots of fun choices! Thank you so much for sharing! Definitely on my bucket list now!
Really interesting video. Who would think of Indian food in Tokyo! That market ou guys went to looks really great. How nice for you.
Masala dosa is amazing, I had it decades ago and I still remember its deliciousness.
If Shinichi san clapping his hands while trying some food, that means the food is amazing😊 I bet the dosa is so good.
Love this new vlog. The food looks so delicious. More vlog episodes like this please.
love from India . I will support you , you are so wholesome 🤗
This has made we want to get a curry delivered tonight. Thanks guys
Hi from Mount Vernon NY I love Indian food when I worked In white plains there was a beautiful Indian restaurant I would buy my lunch almost everyday love spicy food❤
I've never had Indian food before, I would Love to try it. Looks Amazing
ANY food channel! Italian, Chinese, Portuguese, English, Japanese, Singapore, Thai, Korean... *One WORD in common! "MmmmH! MmmhhhhhhMMMm! MH!* I love it. Thanks, guys.
Sotoshi , I love you how you said, “Let’s eat lunch.”
Mixing the different curries/sabzis together is key! I see lots of people tend to try one at a time (which is still tasty), but the pro move is to mix together to make it taste exactly as you feel. I'm so happy you got to appreciate this!
24:37 "Explosion of Flavours" = INDIA ❤🙏
Very nice detailed video. Enjoyed watching every bit.
You guys are the best! My wife and I watch your videos every weekend and it's fun catching up 🙂. We have a long list of stuff to do in Japan thanks to you!
I love chaats- especially pani puri and bhel puri! Love this segment!
Once you find the right shop it's a keeper for all your right Indian food. Yummy.
I so wished I was with you guys.
I loved this episode, thanks for showing us this side of Tokyo!
Hi guys! This was very informative. My curiosity is peaked. Now I want to try Indian food 😃 I’m sorry that you weren’t able to actually go to India, but this was a fun way to experience it. Thanks so much for sharing!💕
It feels so good to see you enjoying Indian food. A few corrections- doas are not made with wheat flour, but rice and lentil flour, and the thicker "curry" was sambar, and the thinner broth-like is called "rasam". Love from India!
What an incredible little tour! It looks like you had wonderful lunch & dinner. I love how you explain the best you can, how the food tastez. I've never had Indian cuisine. We don't have any Indian restaurants or shops here to try. :( ! That's kinda sad. I really wonder why, as we have a large University here that has a very diverse population of students. UTM (University of Tennessee at Martin) is famous for having many students from Japan, Phillipines, Africa, and several other countries. The men from Africa used to come to buy our xhickens to cook, as they like fresh meat and vegetables. We used to grow a huge garden as well. We don't have chickens & garden anymore, the space (an acre( is now taken up for our horses. It's nice because we can keep them clise to the house when we want to ride.

Thanks for the introduction really enjoyed both the restaurants and the spice shop. Now your curry dishes you make will be out of this world 🌎 have fun 👍 look forward to seeing your cooking video with a real curry and Japanese twist .
Truly fantastic. Have been following you guys for some time now. Please cover more Indian food in Japan
It's awesome to see you two enjoying yourselves so much. LOVE hearing all the cicadas giving you that background music! Stay safe and be well 💓💓💓
I did hear that Japan has some truly good Indian food served outside India .. kudos
That's so nice that you guys have an indian grocer somewhat nearby! It really seems like yall had a great time :) Enjoy the Boondi! (It's one of my favorite snackies :P )
I love indian food! Nice idea to test some non-japanese food in Tokyo. :) Maybe you could try other kind of non-japanese food in Tokyo and stores? I like japanese food but this is also very interesting.
I love Indian food in Japan. We have it here in the US too but it's a little different in Japan. If nothing else, the local ingredients are diffferent.
In Oregon we have lots of Indian engineers so we do have quite a few Indian restaurants now.
that looks amazing..i love indian food even all the vegan stuff..its all about the different spices
It's so flavorful and it's hard to describe to someone who hasn't had jt- when you say "spicy" literally meaning it's super tasty with tons of spices, not "hot" spicy...I love tasting all the nuance of different spice elements
Not vegan. It's Vegetarian. Lacto-vegetarian to be exact.
I’m in the uk and it’s basically Indian central, as Indians came here many years ago…we have it all. It’s heaven my fave is chicken dopiaza with onion rice, and garlic naan and onion bhajis. It’s heaven. Especially if you find a great restaurant. I love Naan bread as it has no yeast it’s a flat bread which I love.
Oh I love you two, so adventurous so open to new things.
I love Indian cuisine. Their spices are so delicious. I really miss eating from my fav Indian stall.
You just need spices to make it at home. Give it a try.
I like Rava Dosa...they add diced green chilies , onions with other herbs and spices
Brilliant video , we are jealous watching you guys eat all of this delicious Indian food . Thanks for sharing this experience with us Arigato 🙏😋👍😀
Thanks for highlighting such delicious Indian cuisine. I have always loved curry but I certainly want to try some of the other types of Indian food. I think what is most interesting about this food is all of the different spices that are incorporated in it. This was such an excellent and fascinating program today. I am now craving a taste of Indian cuisine. Wishing both of you a pleasant and rewarding week. 👍🤗❤🙏🌎
Indian cuisine looks interesting. I like seeing you both enjoy your food!
If you ever visit NYC again, you should try the dosa cart near Washington Square Park. It's pretty well known in the city and usually has a line of hungry NYU students waiting for their yummy dosas.
The soup like dish in the thali is rasam a sour soup that helps cool down the stomach after having spicy food. The curry next to the rasam looks like fenugreek curry.
A good naan bread is irresistible
I am absolutely drooling after watching this video. I wanted to try everything. Thanks for the tour!
I am so happy how you both try food from other countries. Millions of people dont.
I love curry.
Those naan are gorgeous..they aren’t difficult to make at home, some nice yoghurt in the dough and cilantro or coriander leaf butter, crisping them nicely helps..fragrant dough..
You guys are the cutest!! Loved this xx
Thanks Bokksu for sponsoring this amazing Channel! I love seeing u both so happy! Food looks really delicious! Thanks for all your effort guys! Love u both very much ❤️
Hi shinichi and Satoshi good to see you all yummie food enjoy stay safe God bless to all
I loved this video on Indian food. So come to India for sure.
The first watery stuff you had on the south Indian Thali is called rasam and they s basically a clear tomato based soup, the second soup you tried was the sambar which is a south Indian dal (lentil and vegetables soup). The dosa looked the type you will get in India. The sambar frankly could have been more wholesome.I think this restaurant is a very average restaurant in India.I would recommend you try some eastern Indian food like Bengali food which is again totally different when you visit India...my favorite is Bhojohori Manna or Oh Calcutta is there in the major cities in India too.
indian food is on another level of deliciousness~
if you're ever able to travel to canada we have such a high indian population it's easy to find authentic cuisine
@sunny dayday Not Indians!!!
@sunny dayday LoL!! Blind hater spotted. Can't even seem to digest the truth & is only spewing BS without any evidence!!
The tea shop was wonderful!!! Great video.
In the South Indian platter, the thinner soup is called rasam (containing tamarind juice, stock of dhal and spices predominantly containing black pepper corns) and the one with vegetable pieces is the sambar
You guys! I’m so jealous! I want to go to Tokyo NOW!
Oh man, everything looks so good and INTERESTING :D Looking forward to your tea video!
Wow, that was amazing! My mouth is watering right now... 😋
I am glad you chose some veggie dishes too, I need to try mushroom curry asap! And coconut chutney!
I had a similar buttermilk drink at an afghan place in Hamburg, it was glorious!
Please let us participate in making the convenience foods and drinks you bought, will you? 🙏
Your faces both look so ecstatic when you try the food. It's like an adventure!
Cant wait to visit Little India next time i am in Tokyo!!
Im always so hungry from watching these videos… but love them more than food
Enjoy guys!!
Fantastic food! It to me really long to discover this channel, I thought you only had that other food channel that is more or less silent - was so fun seeing you both and hearing you talk! :-)
I'm from South India and I'll tell you about the South Indian food you had.
It's Dosa/Masala Dosa which is made from rice/urad dal mix made into a batter and let ferment it for a day. It's really good we have it everyday for breakfast.
You can also use the batter to make Idlies, check that out too.
First side for Dosa is called Sambar, which is what we use as a main course mixed thoroughly with rice. We prepare it with bunch of spices, chilli powder, dal. There are different variations of Sambar based on vegetables used with.
Chutney - That's a coconut chutney, grounded coconut with green chilli, mustard seed mixed in a mixer. That's how you get that amazing chutney.
Spicy sauce - We have onion chutney, tomato-onion chutney or tomato chutney.
Buttermilk - We usually drink it after having lunch which helps with digestion.
We also mix rice with buttermilk/curd, which not only cools the body but helps with digestion, it's usually a palette cleanser.
Rasam - The clear soup kinda thing you had with the Thali is called Rasam.
Once again, there are different versions with tomato based, jeera based, and lot more. It's made with diluted tamarind, bit of dal, tomato and rasam base powder which is made up of different spices. Rasam is enjoyed with rice between Sambar and Curd rice in a meal. Rasam is also a good medicine if you have common cold or not well in general.
Pro tip: Have Indian food with hand in a banana leaf, really adds flavour and you can feel the food.
Our South Indian food is well balanced with nutrients and really tasty containing all kind of flavours.
Glad you guys enjoyed it!
I love Satoshi's cap. Which brand is that? Thanks for making awesome videos.
Iv never commented on your channel before. But this video really moved me. You both are so sweet, kind. I love your content.
The food looked absolutely mouthwatering!!! you guys always do a wonderful job focusing on the food.. AMAZING 🤩
That was a super nice video! Maybe you can explore more kinds of foreign foods in Tokyo.
This fun watching your video have fun thanks guys for your positive vibes thanks.
Mushroom curry looks so good and the breads. Really nice.
Since you guys have a love for Indian cuisine I would like to recommend Gita's Kitchen. She makes amazing dishes and since you found a good market you can easily make all the dishes you want to try at home. It's really helped me since leaving Southern California.
Everything looked so yummy but: OMG this tea shop! I would freak out if I had to choose between so many tempting sorts of tea! Looking forward to all your upcoming India-themed videos. Will you cook the dosa and the gulab jamun with us (pleeeease!)?
That dosa looks amazing, so does that sambal, you can also get dosa stuffed with a mix of tomato paste, eggs and potato, known as a Mysore Masalla Dosa, so good!!!
I love this video! Please make a video of cooking all of your finds in the Indian market. Our closest market is 40 miles away 😢
Love you guys all the way from the Midwest, USA!
美味しそう〜😋
今週は和食中心のお米ダイエットのつもりだったのに、チーズナンが食べたくなりました…まだ初日なのに😆
That naan looked like a cheese pizza! Wow!
what an exciting video i enjoyed it just like going to eat in india thanks
