I'm 43 years old, avid PC gamer, the only console I ever owned was a PS2 just for SoulCalibur, and I recently got a lot of arm and shoulder issues that still persist especially when sitting behin my pc using my mouse. Suddenly I realised the Steam Deck existed and doubted a week if I should buy one or not.. and I did. And it literally changed my gaming life (and life in general) in a matter of weeks. I would have never thought this was what I needed. I have a backlog on Steam you can't imagine, I love a lot of turn based games, card games, chill games in general, but I barely touched them on my pc, but now they are actually getting played and I'm having a blast ! Also games like Hades are finally getting my love, it's truly special ! Everything you said also counts for my experience, I get less distracted, I feel 30 years younger like when I played on my gameboy getting sucked in. 100% recommend !
I feel like you are just like me. You have the games right there on your PC. But the comfort of having these games in the palm of your hands is really awesome. You can lie down in any comfortable position and enjoy. You don't have to be pinned to one location to play. It also feels more like it is truly mine. These games right here anywhere when I want them.
At 30+ years old, after 8 hours of work on a desk I can not stand more time on a desk. just waiting for a sale and im going all in on Steamdeck, even replacing this old pc.
Istg this guy must be stalking my search history. First, I started getting into warframe and then bam. 1 week later my guy makes a warframe video. Then i got cyberpunk and then 2 weeks later bam "Why i can't stop playing cyberpunk". Now, I started saving up for a steam deck and now he makes a steam deck video. What a coincidence but love the videos anyway
RUclipsrs actually do see their subscribers search queries. Not specific users though, it's like a ranking of searches so we have an idea what y'all are interested on.
I am a long-time PC gamer, but the Steam Deck is my first handheld. Its a lot more accessible way to play games, you can play games anywhere and for however long you want. You don't have to finish a level or wait for a save point to just turn it off and resume it later. Its seems like such a small feature but its such a huge upgrade in quality of life.
I agree to 100% with you. The Deck realy gave back this fun part about gaming. I have realy gotten from "I have to cranck all these Sliders to the absolute maximum" to "well does Cyberpunk only run at 30 FPS on medium-high settings? Yes, but I can play it where ever I want, when ever I want. It have showen me how gaming was back in the days when I was young. I didn´t care how the game looks or how it peforms. I just wanted to play I fun game and enjoy it and this is realy what the Steam Deck is good at.
The Steam Deck has been a great device for me. I sold my original one to my stepdaughter's boyfriend because I hadn't used it in a while, and gaming had taken a backseat to a number of other projects in my work and life. But I've found myself really missing it lately, so i went ahead and ordered a new OLED model. Can't wait for it to arrive! BTW, just a point of clarification, at 2:22 it sounds like you're implying Valve entered a handheld PC market already opened by the ROG Ally and Lenovo Legion Go, but it was really the Steam Deck that kicked off the market. Sure, companies like Ayaneo and GPD had been manufacturing and selling handheld gaming devices for many years before Valve entered the scene, but until the Steam Deck launched, Asus ROG and Lenovo were keeping out of the handheld gaming PC market.
Love the comment about work and seating at the computer to game. The Deck is such a nice device for unplugging. It's sooo needed in today's professional world where you work from home. Totally agree!
Perfect! I can absolutely feel what you are saying when it comes to "Just sit down and play the game - no distractions!". For me that was one of the selling points of getting a steam deck recently. I didn't know how much i'm going to love that device, i couldn't recommend it enough. There are so many great games out there which i never touched yet, especially Indies. Can't wait to play them all on my deck. Keep up the great work!
I just found your channel and I I'm happy I found it. I have a steam deck OLED which I got back in the beginning of Feb and I absolutely love it!! Before the steam deck I was primarily a console gamer and I played portably on my switch OLED. And I always kept wishing that the switch could do more and play more and the steam deck definitely filled that cavity I love Halo and the fact that I can play the Master Chief collection on my lunch break and it looks amazing on that screen it's like there's not much more I can ask for at this point. I really love this device and try to take care of it as best I can because God forbid anything happens to it.
Brilliant video mate, I have had a steam deck oled for a couple months but only really got into it the past week. I have been playing Dredge which I couldn't get into on my desktop setup but I'm fully immersed I love it!
I've been playing since the 80's, having almost every system and PC's, and i got my Deck almost 2 months ago and i can say withouth a doubt this thing is one of the best pieces of tech i ever seen, i'm so loving it!
Sitting on a toilet having mad diarrhea for half an hour while playing ghost of tsushima you just cant beat that. I love my steamdeck. Its so much more comfortable to play some good singleplayer games on a steamdeck then on a pc or even console.
What a great and detailed video for new Steam Deck users! Just one correction with the timestamps, the Star Trek fleet ad timestamp is in the wrong location. Keep doing what you’re doing man, you got something good going here!
you're the first youtuber that touched on the "association psychology" when it comes to the steam deck vids. i was debating if I wanted to buy one because I barely game on my PC even when I have the time when I got home from work. however, since i work a typical office job, im in front of a computer at a full time schedule. every time i get back home to my PC, I end up watching youtube vids while Im on Discord. after watching your vid, my interest on buying a Steam Deck grew from that point; especially when you pointed out being able to game anywhere you want in a more comfortable way. hopefully i pull the trigger cause i do wanna revitalize my hobby
I got a steam deck for Christmas last year - just after the oled dropped I snagged a 64gb lcd and dropped a 512gb ssd in it. Absolutely brilliant machine!
Thank for for your thought, especially on “the magic of gaming” nowadays as an adult gamer not many people understand why we really like gaming. as for me i’m also playing the tactical rpg genre on the steamdeck (front mission 2 remake) it has those nostalagic feels, rather playing it on your console or pc. great content!
I've got a. Original 64gb model that I have customized since. I love it and have never looked back. I've done SSD, back plate, swapped sticks & buttons. I'm still on the fence for the HS screen swap.
I'm always on the go. I'm always working. I still buy the latest consoles and buy physical copies of all the games I want. Most of those games (especially since the PS4 and Xbox One) I've never played. Having the Steam Deck or ROG Ally allows me to get in gaming in those 30-60 minute windows of time during the day or late night sessions in the bed. Thanks to Steam and PC, I've been able to play some major titles I'd probably never get around to playing due to my schedule.
I got here just by mere luck, I just got my steam deck and I was looking for videos to improve some performance and miss clicked on your video. But honestly I was surprised by how little your channel was compared to the quality you provide. I agree with almost everything you said, and yeah buying a steam deck tottally changed gaming for me as well. I'm not the person to go out that much but I do travel and stay at my cousins/auntss house quite a lot. Not only that but I never really liked to stay on my pc for long time periods. I got the lcd model instead of the OLED so in my experience it is pretty heavy at times, but other than that it is such a nice experience. I'm glad I foud your channel not only because of the game experience but you seem to do videos that are just up my alley (The video about "place further than the universe" gave me the impression I would love your content since its an Anime that I barely see people talk about and its such a gem!) Anyway, can't wait to watch other things you do. Good luck!
thought this channel has 300k-500k atleast. wow 3.9k... i have a steam deck right now but i watch through the whole video, i really found your content engaging. love your editing where you show snippets of game play and steam play! you're very knowledgeable, engaging opinions and overall entertaining. i want to subscribe to you to hear more of your opinions in different things like more steam deck videos, games etc. also your steam deck skin is adorable! may i ask if that the bdrand skin? if so hows the texture? i wanted to buy one but worried about texture
Ive been a strict handheld only gamer since the ps2 era ended. I currently own a 3ds, a switch and a steamdeck. I see no reason the branch out beyond that.
Do you experience any eye strain with the deck? Especially with those games that does not offer proper font size adjustment? Recently ive been noticing the eye strain issue deck has been giving me and it’s quite bad, like the Witcher 3, a lot of the text is just so dang small that I almost believe that the game is unplayable for me on the deck. I wonder what the case has been for you in this aspect.
I played nier automata on it too! On ps4 i only played one playthrough when it came out, but on the SD i got all the main endings. Great game, got the prequel too to play late. Love the amazing sales on steam too!!
I have a friend that has the money but won't get it coz he's a stubborn Xbox guy. Imo I don't say anything to him, but it's such a waste to be loyal to one type of console. Ive always been any console guy.
great video, really enjoyed watching. Quick q, would you recommend the Steam Deck for someone who isn’t a PC gamer? I’ve always been a console gamer (xbox, playstation etc.) as I’ve preferred the ‘it just works’ nature of console gaming and have always been put off by PC gaming being more complicated (do I have enough RAM, do I have the right processor, do I have the right graphic card etc.). I’ve found console gaming to be a bit ‘meh’ lately so looking at Steam Deck for a bit of a change up. Would you recommend the Steam Deck for someone from a console gaming background? Cheers.
I 100% would! It feels like a console experience in your hands, since it’s prob about as powerful as a series S. The deck is really plug and play aside from connecting your steam account
Steam Deck is my absolute FAVORITE console. Love Kingdom Hearts so much I’ve been emulating it on deck. All of em. And next month, kingdom hearts is coming to Steam. DREAM COME TRUE. Time to replay every single one. 😁😁😁
I wanna do my more casual parts of ff14 in bed so ive been considering saving up for one. When I say casual, I mean the more solo parts of ff14 such as crafting and gathering, basically anything that isn't intense and more comfy. I've wanted to play ff14 after a long day but so exhausted that I choose the bed over the desk.
i havent played much of ff14 but heard its a pretty solid experience on the deck! I feel that choosing to rest in bed over playing at the desk 100%, been doing that with ghost of Tsushima
Just got my steam deck oled last week, I've been having a blast, but the thing I've noticed is that some people have been able to use mods and what not, one of my goals is to learn how to make mods run on the steam deck, like genshin for example, overall though I'm very happy with my purchase even if it burned a hole in my wallet 😂
The masses want a steam deck 2 that they can connect a quest headset to, and be able to download VR games to play off of it. SDVR. Thats what the masses want… It would make VR even more portable.
The oled doesn’t have a hardware boost technically, but I’ve heard it does perform a small bit better overall! But yeah, a second device will be insane when it happens
Its not possible right now with any chip (besides ARM based ones) to get the same efficiency as the Steam deck wich is why Valve said they would wait until a huge performance boost for about the same battery drain. I too am waiting for a SteamDeck 2 as I have both the original Sd and a 512gb Oled one (giving my lcd one to my brother on his birthday so he can finally experience a handheld pc)
I basically only play on my steam deck nowadays. I've always prefered playing on handhelds for whatever reason, and the steam deck controll setup and size just makes it the perfect thing to slouch down on a sofa or in bed to play. On another note, automata is my favorite game of all time, glad to see another person has found it! Be prepared for the craziness that is about to happen after you finish ending B. One absolutely perfect game for me on the steam deck is a short hike, small 2 hour game that's super relaxed and calming, can highly recomend giving it a go, it's dirt cheap on sale
I believe yes, there are still 40% of PSN users are PS4 players, so to accommodate the PS4 user base sony will optimize the lowest setting available to play on PS4, in that case steam deck will be playable in low setting.
Hello, even though it’s not officially supported you can play genshin impact on the steam deck, if you’re ok with a bit of tinkering it has a bit of a setup but it runs just fine running it as a non-steam game through proton experimental, “silver_einherjar” has a good video on how to do it and fairly recently from just 2 weeks ago, if you’d prefer a written guide google is your friend, medium settings on a 45fps lock seems like the sweet spot and good for battery life but it’s capable of running higher
Steam should have stayed Debian ... Arch Linux is NOT for "Noobs" in fact, I like to manually install my Linux Apps, some things are easy like "Emu-deck" ... But dang, I can't get Fear or Fear 3 to load for NOTHING... But I can on Debian (Linux Mint) in 5 minutes no problem... Can't find "Gecko" or "mono" for wine and just get forced to try the 40+ different versions of Proton ... They need to go back to Debian... Or at least let US pick... We bought the thing because it was Supposed to be easy to set up "windows games" ...and it is, sometimes... And other times it's nearly impossible when it should be a Click and Open exe file from Windows just BOOP ...wine
The steam deck might be the best....these handhelds with all these hz and 1600p have to be downgraded to steam deck spec...steam deck doesn't deceive you they are definitely more honest than the ally & Go idk about the other ones.
... My Steam Deck Irons my Pants and tought me how to fry an egg, I got a Raise at work, 2 hours more sleep... and once I was dead for a few minutes and the Defib Maachine wasn't working - but they found my SteamDeck and BOOM! Back At 'Er Son!! Just Like That? Just like that... Oh and I finally got Laid too... and a cop wrote me a ticket, then noticed my SteamDeck and said "Oh, Is that a Steam Deck?" to which I said... "Why yes, yes it is... Officer" ... they winked and tore up the ticket right then and there... Which is cool because I was going like 164MPH in a 45MPH zone, ran a Red Light, Hit a Parked Car, and threw a half pound of Crack out the window, then when I got out of the car I randomly Punched a random stander by... but he said "It's cool, Have a nice day... just don't go quite as Hard next time" ... then we drank a 40, bumped a line .... and I stopped at the gas station and pllayed the Lottory, got the only winning ticket now I have $23,000,000 dollars and my hair all grew back in - No Gray at All... - Buy a Steam Deck
I have both the original steam deck and rog ally. The steam deck weighs kinda heavy and not very comfortable to hold. The only good thing is the battery life. While the rog ally has very short battery life but it's really more comfortable to use every other way. It's lighter, has better layout of controller , easier to navigate, and generally look better on that 1080p screen.

44 year old dad here. Thinking of the steam deck too.
dident play Hades when it came out but the Oled makes it a treat to look at and cup head has never looked better
At 30+ years old, after 8 hours of work on a desk I can not stand more time on a desk.
just waiting for a sale and im going all in on Steamdeck, even replacing this old pc.
It's good bro. Been playing elden ring non stop
Nice! How has your experience been? Been thinking about doing the second play through on the deck to prep for the DLC
After 12 hour shifts , the last thing I want to do is sit down and boot up my pc. Playing on my bed is a fucken game changer.
@@jmend2994 Have you tried any emulation?
@@mreverybody1150 not yet , looking forward to setting it up. I have an anbernic emulator console I’ve been using that

thats wild ha!
RUclips algo be reading my mind or stalking me because I too am in the market for a Steam deck and now I'm flooded with Steam deck content xD
You’re going to love Warframe on the deck…and prepare to be impressed with how CDPR optimized Cyberpunk for it too.
RUclipsrs actually do see their subscribers search queries. Not specific users though, it's like a ranking of searches so we have an idea what y'all are interested on.
@JDRos yep! It only gives like a more general idea though, I haven’t used it much honestly ha
I am a long-time PC gamer, but the Steam Deck is my first handheld. Its a lot more accessible way to play games, you can play games anywhere and for however long you want. I got this more for emulation. Burnout Ps2 upscaled is the best.

Just got my steam deck oled last week, I've been having a blast, but the thing I've noticed is that some people have been able to use mods and what not, one of my goals is to learn how to make mods run on the steam deck, like genshin for example, overall though I'm very happy with my purchase even if it burned a hole in my wallet 😂
it can apparently run genshin technically, but you can get banned cause linux doesn't run anticheat I believe
yo man im also a short ginger hah 5.3 i feel your pain my man
i thought your me coz what i feel on steam deck oled you nailed it all bru!
fun video ❤
This is breaking news! What is this "steam deck" thingy?
this is so cool!!!!
The masses want a steam deck 2 that they can connect a quest headset to, and be able to download VR games to play off of it. SDVR. Thats what the masses want… It would make VR even more portable.
A lot of people don’t even like VR. What do you mean the masses?
@@kennys9644 you are not part of the masses. Go back to your google glass…
@@DARK_KATACLYSMWhat a pretentious comment lmao. I dont want to do VR on my deck. I have a desktop/laptop for that
@@im_amil since you don’t have a steam deck then why are you commenting. It doesn’t apply to you. Do you want some more cheese with that whine?
Shame over years they have not done anything upgrade hardware system yet
Just started Nier the other day great so far and loved the video
love the skin
Thanks! It’s from dbrand
@@ashortginger why didnt you apply the back?
@weeklystruggle4205 oh I only got the front skin, just wanted a duotone look
Do you guys think steam deck will be able to handle the upcoming new gta game ?
prob not
Wait for steam deck 2
I believe yes, there are still 40% of PSN users are PS4 players, so to accommodate the PS4 user base sony will optimize the lowest setting available to play on PS4, in that case steam deck will be playable in low setting.
Thus guy looks like a kid suoer glued a beard on
Lol
The Steam Deck is awesome. If only it got Genshin Impact. I use it as my actual work device also when I travel.
Steamdeck is the best
STEAM DECK 2 SOON :)
Who said???
Nah atleast 2+ years
Steam hasn’t confirmed that at all
at the end of 2025
@@OleksiiK21 again, who said???
