- Ever seen a person’s weapon and assumed something about how they play? Well, you’re not alone. In fact, most weapons in TF2 hold a certain stereotype. This series of videos aims to go over some of the most well-known weapon stereotypes in TF2.
Please keep in mind that I’m not saying that anyone who uses a certain weapon is a certain type of person. These videos are for fun. Sorry if I hurt your feelings or something.

This was me while I practiced Spy for a month. Completely forgot the revolver to focus on trickstabs and stuff. I resorted to butterknifing Snipers with the Razorback.

Late but I focused down a demo on blu team with the jarate and bushwacka, his team just watched as I got close to him and one shot him.
New stereotypes:
Stock: 1/3 new player, 1/3 really good, 1/3 “Really good”
Snipers: 1/5 new player, 1/5 really good, 2/5 "really good", 1/5 bots
more like 1/100 new player 1/100 really good 98/100 bots

@@crusaderiii477 the heatmaker is nearly direct upgrade to the stock, if not for the bodyshot penalty. BUT as you know bots only get headshots and that downside is nothing

Good thing about the Shahanshah: You can melee fight Pyros, Scouts, and Spies and deal high DMG, almost always killing them in 2 hits.
Or just use the bush wacka and one shot them.

the huntsman reminds me of some BS luck kill I got.
I was air-balasted up into the air just as I shot and somehow got a head shot on an extremely good sniper across the map.

Use the Cozy Camper if you're gonna go for a backpack. The Razorback is kinda bad and post-nerf DDS is complete trash unless you REALLY REALLY hate W+M1 Pyros or flare spammers.
Granted, the Cozy Camper is not that good either, and Jarate just exists, but the regen is nice to have at times and the knockback resistance/immunity might come in handy sometimes.

@@MayaMaya-si3nw The main upside, the flinching immunity, is only useful in if you hardscope. If you want to keep moving, the only thing you get is the regen, wich granted has saved me a few times.
@@joanaguayoplanell4912 You could make Cozy Camper a bit better if you use Sydney Sleeper or Bazaar Bargain if you're competent at headshots to abuse the faster charge to get your bonus better and not be as hard scoped as you would be otherwise.
On the other hand, when you're playing Jarate/Bushwacka it's really funny to see people's "oh crap" reaction when you douse them then go back to primary.

Once I had a piss duel with a new guy in 2fort.Both of us used to throw piss but he never used the Bushwacka.Instead he tried to quickscope me though his aim was bad and I ALWAYS WON becuz the bushwacka.I had to tell him to use the Busheacka and only then our fight became more fair

I got my first ever Godlike killstreak with the Classic.
I got a professional killstreak one, renamed it, “Wait, did you just die to the Classic?” And changed the description to “Yes, yes you did.”
Now I get yelled at in chat by half the enemy team and usually turn 2 or 3 of my teammates into classic snipers too XD
When someone is being dominated by a Classic it’s somehow a terrible weapon while also being an OP noob weapon.

My favorite part about the classic is that even though it has a 10% damage penalty on a body shot, you will mostly be going for them.

The DR only works against idiots, and/or works for really talented amby spies. The moment a competent player jumps in the game I have to switch to invis/CnD. I don't understand why people complain about it. I rarely have trouble against DR spies.

For some reason whenever I use the machina, I end up getting a lot of head shots. though when I use anything else, I can only get body shots and occasional headshots.

The Classic also probably has one more stereotype: "You like playing Team Fortress Classic and wanted to use a weapon that references the game"

Ambassador - people who say "it takes skill" but won't admit they can't aim with it properly.(I see this problem a lot).
Romildale Cuevas When I play tf2 at my friend's place, if I play spy, I use dead ringer+ spycicle since I somehow manage to trick everyone with it. I tricked the enemies like 10 times in a single match. And I used the same tactic every time...
For some reason, I only use the ambassador because I don't wanna use stock.

Ambassador -
Since the nerf; there are two stereotypes:
A. The Spy who relied on the Ambassador to play Spy as a discount Sniper. Now that the Amby can't be used from behind their teammates to constantly harass people while not playing Spy at all; they complain Valve ruined Spy, and that the nerf was completely unjustified; because the class that can close range 1 shot enemies CLEARLY should be able to 2 shot people from any distance as well. But let's be honest, the real reason they're complaining is because they actually have to get in the main lines and help their teammates now; and that might result in them dying; so rather then adapting, it's easier to whine and pray for the nerf to go away.
And
B. Spys who adapted to the change and can use the Ambassador as a medium/close range weapon of mass destruction for when they miss a stab. If the enemy turns around; or they miss a stab; they'll whip this sucker out and slam 2 headshots for 86-102 damage in your face before making a quick getaway. The way it was intended to be used. I actually have a lot of respect for these Spys.

SMG is underated. It's good for dealing with scouts. And I tend to use it after hitting a piss rifle shot for mini crits

Another thing: the kukri's crit rate.
Random crits work off of how much damage you have previously done so if you're constantly hitting headshots with the sniper rifle that do up to 518 max then you really shouldn't be suprised if the next hit from his melee is a random crit.

Actually that only works with primary and secondary weapons. Melee has a constant crit rate and that crit rate is fucking high as if it was stockpiled with weed.

Sydney sleeper lets me play sniper like a full support class and I love it.
I've been playing Sniper a bit more recently, and literally everytime I got a kill with the Kukri, it was a random crit.

The smg works well with the lucksman as you have a hitscan thing to counter REALLY good pyros (idk how they air blast that arrow, but they do)

I like the AWP cause 1 it's in CS:GO 2 it's an amazing model irl and 3 it shares stock stats without having a scope that's so big in burns any weapon specialist's eyes.
As someone who uses the hit man I can say I’m mostly doing it to try and get better in my head shots it’s actually helps me because I feel more confident with it and it’s helping me a lot
Gotta be honest. Most p2p SMG players I see are really good at sniper.
If they haven't killed you with a headshot from long range they will finish you off with their smg.
Switching to it everytime you come into close range with them while you have low hp from their bodyshot.
I rarely even see f2p's using the thing anymore tbh.

I have ~11.5k hours in the game and can say that I always use smg because I don't want to seem like the jarate/bushwacka guy, razorback camper, or danger shield douche. But also, the smg is REALLY good imo with the huntsman, for when you have to finish off a 125 to target after doing the fully charged 120 bodyshot

Yeah, for once I was like "Hey, I disagree from personal experience..." WITHOUT being said exception. I have a friend with like 3.4k hours who just likes the SMG, and I guess they feel like the other secondaries aren't helpful enough. I personally hate it, better to just noscope 50 damage a couple times, why bother with all that tracking? But, thanks to that one friend, I don't automatically consider people who use it bad at sniper anymore.

It also extinguishes teammates meaning you don't have to hit that hail mary jarate throw from across the map to extinguish your team because God damn it Pyro did you saw your mouse in half and only keep the left side just right click for once in your life you have almost 1000 hours how do you not know this

I find those using the icicle are usually using it exclusively because they have a bad history with Pyros. It's not even that they're still bad against them, it's just their road to getting good left them dead and burning so often, it's scarred them. Oh, and it'll be a crime not to mention the Spies who swear by the Ambassador but can't hit a damn thing with it and actually the worst shots in the game.
JacksonJin I once had it and a pyro was chasing me because i had the icicle i didnt die from added damage of after burn a team mate saved me i yeah i was backed up to a corner i have had a history with pyros but i know how to deal with them
It feels good to hear People appriciate snipers who support their team with jarate. Cause I only use the jarate to put out burning teamates, help my team track down a spy and throw it at annoying meds and heavies :)
I actually love the classic as it lets me see the whole battle field before I sight in to pick off a target.
I like the CLASSIC because I can play it like a RAIL in Quake
Which means o don't have to scope in . That's why it's called THE CLASSIC in the first place because that's how people used to play Sniper in the 90s (WITHOUT SCOPES) ... before CS came around
Especially when it was the gun the Team Fortress 1 sniper had, the one that ran on Quake's engine, yeah, basically was a rail reskin, even if Quake 2 wasn't released yet.
Once I heard that I knew I will use it the moment I unlock it. I hate having to scope in for the headshot and leave myself vulnerable for half a damn minute just to be able to kill a soldier with a headshot. I mean, I am used to the classic Battlefront's monumental maps, and I can see that little circular dot above that skinny stick on the other side of the map. I don't need the scoped reticle.
Then I heard that you were need full charge to actually do something useful with it and immediately changed my mind and went back to my good old Bazaar Bargain.

However, since this video my unquestionably favorite sniper rifle is the Crusader's Crossbow and the Huntsman, followed by the Hitmam's Heatmaker.
Who would have said that the reason I have trouble aiming is the muscle memory. I keep trying to lead the shot the way I did on Star Wars Battlefront 2 (the original 2005 version, not the bullcrap EA abomination version), and never ever remember that those things use hitscan.
I only use "The Classic" When i find myself getting outflanked either by a pyro or scout ambush

I love the classic because I often find that my own team is too incompetent to keep the enemy out of my vantage point, so being able to get a fully charged headshot on some uninvited guests at close range is kinda needed

The stereotype of the Huntsman is indeed very true, first time I ever used it I got a headshot on a charging demo man that I wasn’t even aiming at and got the achievement for it.
I use the AWP, Danger Shield and Tribalman's.
I'm kind of sorry, but at the same time it's the best way for me to survive sniper duels and spam that saxophone taunt, which is more important than TF2 morality.
