Tyler- singer- plays piano, ukulele, bass, and recently electric guitar. He makes his own backtracks and samples. All the tech stuff. I think there is a guy who recently helped with the production of a couple of songs off of Trench (2018). There are songs with ska or reggae sounds, some are more rock or hip-hop vibe. But you really can't just put them in one musical genre or "Lane". You should listen to Lane Boy, by the way. Josh rocks on the drums, creative syncopations. Dive in! You will find some interesting creative music.
Live Trees at Fox Theater! Live at the LC is good, too (those long notes- saaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay heeeeeeeeeeeeelllllllooooooo), but Fox Theater is a little more polished of a production. Both are worth it.
I love this song. I also love when genre's mingle & entwine then become something of greatness. When bands can progress in any form it's a step into some Amazing music. We can all appreciate.
For a great intro to them where they do it all check out "ode to sleep" Fantastic video where they show you where they started. A crowd of 12 then to 400 then to 16000 people.
The black paint on his neck/hands/feet is symbolizing his insecurities and depression beginning to suffocate and overwhelm him. And the genre is mostly alt. rock, indie, hiphop, rap and electropop- the cool thing about them is how many different genres and styles they apply in different songs. If you want to hear the songs stripped down to just vocals and keys, look up Tyler Joeseph's performance where he goes through what he does and even re-invents a couple songs....
I love Twenty One Pilots and this song is great. If you want them rapping I would suggest HeavyDirtySoul, Lane Boy, Migrane, and Holding on to You. For great songs with mostly singing I would suggest The Judge, Tear in my Heart, House of Gold, and Level of Concern.
Tyler does it all! Voice of an angel who can totally spit bars. He writes all their music by himself...plays multi instruments, and is just an overall deep thinker and perfectionist. Best concerts of my life. I wasn’t even excited for the first one. I took the family. Whoa. They made a fan for life. Their show is insane. I’ll be going back to future concerts. You should check out Ode To Sleep, Lane Boy, Car Radio, Heathens, Heavy Dirty Soul, and Ride to get started.
Lane Boy, Fairly Local, Guns for Hands...just a few songs by this group. React to them, you will get HUGE following! Tyler can rap, rock, and just appeal to US! New subscriber because I want see more!
I got a great fusion band for you. The name of the group is PEEPING TOM - WE’RE NOT ALONE ( Live on Henry Rollins show) this band has a DJ, beatboxer, three piece band, organist, violinist and one of the most versatile singers in rock. Underground but great.
Even their first album was not punk. An ecclectic mix of numerous genres, but punk was not really one of them. I love these guys. Gave my kid the courage to come out.
Just subbed for more TØP content. Great reaction to one of my fave bands. Please do more! A few MV suggestions: Car Radio, Lane Boy, Ode to Sleep, Ride, Heathens (song from the movie Suicide Squad), Fairly Local It's just two in the band, Tyler (singer) and Josh (drummer) from Columbus, OH. Very talented guys and they don't have a specific genre bc they do it all. They're awesome!
i'm 48 and have been a punk since my friend turned me on to Minor Threat in 1986. I love me some non-radio pop punk. While not all are necessarily "new" I think ya'll should check out some of these. Maybe do a couple songs in 1 video since punk songs tend to be shorter: Teenage Bottlerocket - Skate or Die / Bigger Than Kiss / Headbanger Bombpops - CA in July Masked Intruder - Crime Spree
Love our Ohio boys. Side note this video was filmed in Whitehall,Ohio. In their parents homes. They had to move after it came out. Cause fans found out where they live. Wanted to know if their son's where home. O-H-I-O
Great tune!! Noticed it's been a long, LONG time since you've gone back to Twenty One Pilots, I think it's time!! Reggae, ska, electronic, industrial, rap - these guys are nearly impossible to define and definitely cannot pigeon hole into one genre. Honestly, punk would be the lesser of what I see in these guys, their music is generally too complex. Chlorine, Lane Boy, Car Radio, Heavydirtysoul, Ride, Ode To Sleep, Jumpsuit...are all absolute musts!!
L.L. Cool J did rock and rap together with his band Body Count, years before Run DMC/Aerosmith. Blondie's Rapture was the first mainstream radio song to have a rap in it.
Great reaction, I really liked it!! If you keep listening to Twenty One Pilots you should hear 'Lane Boy' (rap and them saying we don't really belong to a specific music genre AND WE LOVE IT 😂), 'Chlorine' that has some rap and amazing vocals, 'Jumpsuit' and 'Heavydirtysoul' are literally fire!!! Those are some recommendations, I hope you like them!
Nice job! Thanks for this reaction. I’m subbing for more Twenty One Pilots. The group doesn’t belong to a single genre, that’s just who they are. Ode To Sleep, Lane Boy, Fairly Local, Migraine, Heavy Dirty Soul, and Car Radio are all good introductory mv to react to. If you do Trees, I highly suggest you do the Live at Fox Theater video. Thanks!
Yeah it’s just those two. The extra guy was one of their brothers. So all the producing and mixing is Tyler(lead singer and rapper). He can also play uke, guitar, piano, beat pad, bass, etc. Josh can play drums and a bit of trumpet.
If you react to 'My Blood' by them, it has some singing in it. A lot of their songs do, but that's a personal favorite of mine 😁 I've subscribed and I hope to see you do more of them! (+Melanie Martinez 😁)
Old punk suggestions: “Blitzkrieg Bop”, “Pinhead”, “Sheena is a Punk Rocker”, and “I Wanna Be Sedated” by the Ramones. So many other bands that were great: The Clash, MC5, X, and too many to list. Some of the more current punks bands that I personally listen to are Alkaline Trio, Blink-182, and of course Green Day.
Been waiting on this! Love it 😁 but y'all gotta check out some more of them... If you wanna hear Tyler rap and sing, check out "Heavydirtysoul" and "Migraine." I was listening to strictly metal for years and then I stumbled on these two dudes. It's been a life-changing journey ever since.
Hey guys love the content, glad you're keeping these reactions coming 🔥🔥 would love to hear what you guys think of car radio by 21 pilots (1st song I heard by these guys And still one of my favs)
You guys should check out the song "Rapture" by Blondie. That's the one where she raps. Also some great punk bands to check out: NOFX, Rancid, Comeback Kid, Anti-Flag
More TØP please 😊 I’d recommend: Heavydirtysoul, migraine, ode to sleep, guns for hands, Ride, Lane Boy, Polarize, Message Man, Morph, Chlorine, The Hype, Nico and the Niners, Cut My Lip. Honestly, they have SO many great songs. The clique would be very grateful if you did more of them 👍🏼👋🏼🙌🏼👏🏼❤️💛💙🇨🇦
21 pilots first big hit was..Ride...also check out...lane boy...car radio.. heavydirtysoul... fairly local...or listen to them do I cant help falling in love with you...yeah the Elvis Presley song
2024 skeleton clique here? I think these guys need to hear more. So knowledgeable on the music history and the uniqueness of all genres. New twenty one pilots album in May
Definitely should check out Lane Boy Car Radio Ode to Sleep Those will give you a good idea of these dudes capabilities If you want to hear his voice listen to Trees Live from Fox Theater
You should react to Operation Ivy, Sound System. Operation Ivy was Tim Armstrong's band before Rancid. I would say Rancid was the most famous punk band in the 90s. React to Rancid as well. They are bad ass!!!!
Gotta do heathens by 21 pilots. Dope as hell song. also for modern punk check out press corpse by anti-flag and live while you can by pennywise. Hope you guys read this! 😁 Enjoy the content keep it up guys
Rapture by Blondie. Check it out!✌️😎 check out Lane Boy, Migraine and Ride! It’s just Tyler and Josh....Tyler plays many instruments...main one is piano....Tyler writes all the music, lyrics and produces....
Tyler does a cover of Elvis' "Can't help falling in Love", if you want to hear just singing. Also their newest song "Level of concern" is probably their most "pop" song, but they are are all over the genre highway. They don't have a bad song. Not one.
Two more songs by Twenty One Pilots I would strongly suggest based on the rapping are HeavyDirtySoul (no spaces!) and Levitate. Compared to these two songs, I would almost consider Stressed Out to be spoken poetry! While both of the songs are rapid fire in their delivery, Levitate takes it a step further in that it feels very syncopated. The rhythm of Levitate is not at all off, but but it doesn't fall on the beat(s) the way most songs, whether sung or rapped, might do. And these songs, like EVERY other one of their songs, are completely different from this one and each other. Regarding the band - it's just the two of them: Josh on drums and triggering the tracks, Tyler on vocals, song-writing, producing, creating all of the supporting tracks. HeavyDirtySoul has singing and rapping (as do many others). Tyler has said in interviews, that virtually every song in which he raps that he wrote the lyrics first, and it is not so much an attempt to rap, as it is to make the lyrics fit the melody he is working on. Thus, most of the songs they do without rap the melody was written first. And, as you mentioned genres... the boys have no genre except their own! However, many of their songs, especially Ode to Sleep, for example, explore more genres in three minutes than some bands do in a thirty year career!! I hope you will seriously consider exploring the band further. I think you will be extremely surprised, and impressed. Cheers!
i know u guys are into rap but u should listen to some sleeping with sirens. they’re a hard rock /post hardcore band. i recommend with ears to see and eyes to hear, trophy fathers trophy son, fire, and talking to myself.
Twenty One is truly genre less... Every song is different, you really can't put them in a box... All new listeners I highly recommend they listen to Ode to Sleep... Crazy song, awesome video, you'll think its 2 different songs with the switch ups... I'm pretty sure they added some live vocals in it as well...
NEW SUBSCRUBER. My vote for newer still active Punk Bands to react to is "The Yeah Yeah Yeahs". An outstanding band out of NYC fronted by the incredible Karen O., who is also their main song writer. Cheated Hearts, Warrior, Gold Lion, Y Control, Dragon Queen, Heads Will Roll, Soft Shock, Way Out-all incredible punk and alt rock songs to react to. Really hope you check them out. Sure you havent heard any of the above songs, unless your a big fan already. They are album songs not singles, except for Gold Lion. But they mostly only play their stuff on alternative satellite radio anyway. Had to write that MY FRIEND AND I ALWAYS SANG "THE GOOD DOPE DAYS" IN THIS SONG! Because even though it's not the lyrics that's the lyrics for us 😉 We grew up together. Man, did she and I have some times back in the day 😂This genre of music is usually referred to as alternative. Which is a genre whose music defies categorization into any one genre, but pulls from many or even all, to create a unique sound. Heathens is probably their biggest. It was part of the movie Suicide Squad. But its an incredible song and TOP is an incredible duo.
21 pilots are in their own lane for sure. Punk is outcast against authority. 21 pilots are or used to be a christian group but not the kind that push religion on people very similar to NF. Their track "Car Radio" is my favorite. 💯🔥🙏
Try reacting to Lana Del Rey “Born to die” and “Dark paradise” off the top of my mind. She has many great songs, with decent lyrics and she mixes different genres.
Tyler- singer- plays piano, ukulele, bass, and recently electric guitar. He makes his own backtracks and samples. All the tech stuff. Don't skip these guys, do more, car radio, heaveydirtysoul, lane boy, trees (live). Do it!
Yea we have heard that this is a group we def need to dive deeper Into
@@Hollywood6IX good! 😂 I'll be waiting and I'm sure the rest of the TØP army will be too 😜
Definitely check out Lane boy, Car Radio, and the live version of Trees!
Live Trees at Fox Theater! Live at the LC is good, too (those long notes- saaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay heeeeeeeeeeeeelllllllooooooo), but Fox Theater is a little more polished of a production. Both are worth it.
Twenty One Pilots "Ode To Sleep." It's a music video and a mini documentary.
I love this song. I also love when genre's mingle & entwine then become something of greatness. When bands can progress in any form it's a step into some Amazing music. We can all appreciate.
Fire!! I discovered them a few months ago and I´ve been mezmerized since them! Really cool, original, out of the box sound.
Chlorine by TOP has nice vocals, plus a rap verse.
Typical of a new follower
@@msftsrep_mike Sahlo folina friend.
Trash Talkers Twenty One Pilots is the only band to have every single track off of two albums go Gold or Platinum. ✌
For a great intro to them where they do it all check out "ode to sleep" Fantastic video where they show you where they started.
A crowd of 12 then to 400 then to 16000 people.
Lane Boy , Chlorine ,My Blood ....

The black paint on his neck/hands/feet is symbolizing his insecurities and depression beginning to suffocate and overwhelm him.

Level of concern is one I like recently

Blondie - Rapture is the song you were referring to.
Yup and first "rap" song on Mtv
Nice flow
Lane Boy, Fairly Local, Guns for Hands...just a few songs by this group. React to them, you will get HUGE following! Tyler can rap, rock, and just appeal to US! New subscriber because I want see more!
Great reaction! Keep the TØP REACTIONS coming 😊👏🏼👌🏼🙌🏼👍🏼❤️💛💙🇨🇦
Do Twenty One Pilots:
Heavy Dirty Soul
Car Radio
Migraine
A full display of their skills is "ride".
Consider doing this guys, it has it all that you've shown to be into IMHO
Dropkick Murphys, Shipping up to Boston is probably the most famous punk song. It has been on multiple movies. They are bad ass, too!
I got a great fusion band for you. The name of the group is PEEPING TOM - WE’RE NOT ALONE ( Live on Henry Rollins show) this band has a DJ, beatboxer, three piece band, organist, violinist and one of the most versatile singers in rock. Underground but great.
I second that
clinzo14 Yes! Mike Patton and Imani Coppola are two of my favorite people 😊👍🏽
they ARE huge! Once you start, you go down a rabbit hole. Enjoy the ride!
It’s funny you said they found their lane. Check out the song Lane Boy.
Love seeing people react to the genius, that is Twenty One Pilots.
Lars Fredrickson and the Bastards. The record is 15 years old or so. But I'll consider it modern day punk.
You guys should react to twenty one pilots heathens
They have been on the radio since I was in high school in ‘97 lol
Even their first album was not punk. An ecclectic mix of numerous genres, but punk was not really one of them. I love these guys. Gave my kid the courage to come out.
3 years later, but please do more Twenty Øne Pilots. Every song is genre bending with a lot of rap/rock elements
Just subbed for more TØP content. Great reaction to one of my fave bands. Please do more! A few MV suggestions: Car Radio, Lane Boy, Ode to Sleep, Ride, Heathens (song from the movie Suicide Squad), Fairly Local

The Clash anything from the first album, Give Em Enough Rope or London Calling! You'll really like the song "Police on my Back"
i'm 48 and have been a punk since my friend turned me on to Minor Threat in 1986. I love me some non-radio pop punk. While not all are necessarily "new" I think ya'll should check out some of these. Maybe do a couple songs in 1 video since punk songs tend to be shorter:

Smokey's very short version of Punk history was fairly accurate and this is a great song and video. Keep up the good work my homies!
Tear in my Heart is straight singing.
nice reaction :) Ode to sleep would be pretty dope.
I didn't even get a notification for this one. This is one of those bands I love some their songs but not a fan of their catalog.

Great reaction 🔥👌
I'll recommend 'ode to sleep' it has both
Great reaction guys !!!! It’s actually just them two no dj.... gotta do heavy dirty soul or lane boy next !!!!
Their live version of heavy dirty soul from fox theater is dope.
Personal favorite punk band: The Vandals. Check out Bad Birthday Bash, I'm a Fly, Slap of Luv, Urban Struggle, or Anarchy Burger.
L.L. Cool J did rock and rap together with his band Body Count, years before Run DMC/Aerosmith.
Blondie's Rapture was the first mainstream radio song to have a rap in it.

Lane Boy

I've never heard "Punk" meaning "coward".
It has always meant a rebel against society. Even in the 90's.
